Enforcement and Enforceability of Court Settlements in the European Union

    No full text
Court settlements, as instruments of amicable dispute resolution, represent a flexible procedural tool that also serves as an enforcement title document. As such, these instruments are known in all of the Member States of the European Union (EU) and are included under the rules of EU’s private international law regulations, which offer a legal basis for their cross-border enforcement. However, challenges persist due to varying regulation and understanding of court settlements at the national level, as well as due to the ambiguities in the EU’s cross-border enforcement rules, leading to potential misinterpretations in practice. Thus, this paper firstly aims to explore what exactly constitutes a ‘court settlement’, both at the national and at the EU level. Based on this definition, it then examines the EU regulatory framework, specifically within the selected EU regulations, to assess whether further improvements are necessary. The answers to the research questions are found through case law analysis, exploration of academic literature, and particularly on the basis of the relevant provisions of the EU regulations that were selected for this research.

Systematic Derivation of Clarke and Park Transformations through Vector Representation in Three-Phase Systems

    No full text
This paper presents a comprehensive mathematical derivation of Clarke and Park transformations from first principles through systematic vector representation. Despite over a century of widespread application in power electronics and motor control, rigorous derivations of these fundamental transformations remain scattered across literature. We address this gap by systematically progressing from three-phase voltage equations in time domain to spatial vector representation in three-dimensional space, then deriving Clarke transformation through geometric projection onto the plane where balanced quantities reside. Subsequently, we derive Park transformation as time-varying rotation of the Clarke frame. The work establishes both amplitude-invariant and power-invariant formulations, explains the geometric significance of the 35.26° angle between coordinate systems, and reveals the mathematical basis for zero-sequence component extraction. This unified treatment bridges the gap between these transformations\u27 ubiquitous practical application and their fundamental mathematical origins

PROBLEMATIKA VEZAVE KOLEKTIVNIH DELAVSKIH PRAVIC NA OBSTOJEČI KONCEPT EKONOMSKO ODVISNE OSEBE PO ZDR-1

    No full text
The author discusses the appropriateness of using the concept of economically dependent person (under Slovenian law) as a basis for extending collective labour rights to a wider group of self-employed persons. The author concludes that the individual application of the concept of economically dependent persons under ZDR-1 is problematic in many respects. This problem becomes even more evident when it comes to the exercise of collective rights by a larger number of self-employed persons. In the event of extending the entitlement to collective labour rights to persons outside an employment relationship, linking this to the existing concept of an economically dependent person under ZDR-1 does not seem to be the optimal solution.

Poetry as a starting point for the creative process of (future) educators at the intersection of art and modern technologies. In the paper, we describe a study process in which prospective preschool teachers created multimodal stop-motion animations, using a poem as a starting point. The study ascertains that (future) educators see this type of work as a positive contribution to their competencies, their attitude towards modern technologies, as well as their pedagogical practice.V prispevku opisujemo študijski proces, v sklopu katerega so bodoči vzgojitelji ustvarjali multimodalne stop-motion animacije s pesemskim izhodiščem. Ugotavljamo, da študentje predšolske vzgoje tovrstno delo vidijo kot pozitiven doprinos k svojim kompetencam, odnosu do sodobnih tehnologij in pedagoški praksi

Design and fabrication of a demonstration model for promoting low-carbon energy technologies

    No full text
This article presents the design, construction, and educational application of a large-scale model representing renewable energy facilities that do not yet exist. The model features a circular layout with a diameter of 2 meters, divided into two halves: the Mokrice Hydropower Plant and a nuclear power plant with an accompanying low- and intermediate-level radioactive waste repository. The Mokrice half highlights key ecological and technical features, including two fish passages and a solar power plant installation, with realistic water effects achieved using epoxy resin. The nuclear half includes a removable low- and intermediate-level radioactive waste repository, allowing viewers to explore storage arrangements via a cross-sectional view. All components were fabricated using FDM 3D printing, assembled, finished with paint and landscaping materials, and mounted on a wooden base with a metal support structure. While the model was not intended to achieve exact technical scaling, it effectively communicates complex energy infrastructures, facilitating public understanding, awareness, and dialogue about low-carbon technologies. The combination of additive manufacturing, interactive features, and detailed landscape representation demonstrates the value of models as tools for education, demonstration, and the promotion of sustainable energy solutions

Assessing the Consequences of Natural Disasters on Sustainability in Rural Municipalities: Evidence from Loška Dolina

This study examines the impact of natural disasters on the sustainable development of the rural municipality of Loška Dolina, focusing on the 2014 ice storm and subsequent floods. Through semi-structured interviews with seven key stakeholders, including local government, civil protection, and affected individuals, the research analyzes the disasters\u27 effects on the economic, social, and environmental pillars of sustainability. The ice storm damaged forests and infrastructure, while floods caused soil contamination and habitat disruption. Despite these challenges, the community showed resilience and increased climate awareness. The SWOT analysis highlights both opportunities in the timber industry and challenges in disaster preparedness. The study emphasizes integrating disaster risk reduction into sustainable development planning

Opportunities and Challenges of Supply Chain Sustainability Reporting: The Case of Slovenian Multinational Manufacturing Companies

This article explores reporting on supply chain sustainability from the perspective of opportunities and challenges for multinational manufacturing companies, considering the evolved European Union (EU) regulations and the scope and complexity of international supply chains. In the theoretical part, we examine corporate sustainability reporting, focusing on EU regulatory framework, sustainability in international supply chain management, and reporting on supply chain sustainability. The empirical analysis is based on the secondary and primary data gathered from a non-random sample of Slovenian multinational manufacturing companies from B2B industry. The analysis shows that the companies discussed included information on supply chain sustainability in their sustainability reports; however, they weren\u27t very well-prepared for the requirements of the new EU sustainability reporting directives. We found they perceived opportunities and challenges in supply chain sustainability reporting similarly. Our research findings have several implications for corporate sustainability management and national institutional business support

Neobanks’ Footprint on the Transformative Path of the Austrian and the Slovenian Banking Market

The digital transformation in banking, which is supported by the European regulatory framework, has enabled new business models for banking. One example of these changes is the emergence of neobanks. We examine the presence of neobanks in two national markets, Austria and Slovenia. Despite the geographical proximity and rich history of banking integration between the two markets, our findings reveal significant differences in this perspective between the two markets. In the analytical part, we use available indirect and descriptive data. We have identified two historical periods. In the first, domestic neobanks appeared. Unlike in Austria, where there is a rich history of domestic neobanks, there were none in Slovenia. In the second identified period, the most propulsive European neobanks are similarly active in both markets, which increases competition in the banking markets. In the future, the neobanks could contribute to the increase in the mobility of deposits outside the national banking markets

The aim of the study was to compare perceptions about the teaching of the subject “Nature and Society” among preservice primary school teachers at three Croatian universities. The results indicate consistent perceptions among second- and fifth-year students, regardless of their university, with a notable inclination toward teacher-centred teaching. Fifth-year students from all three universities demonstrate a slight shift away from the traditional teaching paradigm compared with second-year students. For a genuine transformation in teaching approaches, in addition to acquired knowledge and developed competences, it is essential to encourage preservice teachers to engage in self-reflection on their teaching practices to become aware of their own beliefs about teaching.

Značilnosti življenskega sloga študentov z normalno telesno maso, prekomerno telesno maso in debelostjo

This study examines the differences in body composition and lifestyle habits between normal-weight (NW) and overweight/obese (OW&O) university students. A sample of fifty-five students aged 21–25 years completed validated questionnaires (HLPCQ, IPAQ-SF, WHO-5) and underwent body composition analysis using the InBody 270 device. Statistical analyses included independent sample t-tests and Cohen’s d effect sizes. OW&O students had significantly higher scores for body fat, fat-free mass, and skeletal muscle mass. While body composition differences were evident, lifestyle habits did not significantly differ between weight groups. Bias in lifestyle and well-being self-assessment calls for the development of more objective assessment tools and further research. Študenti skupine PTT in D so imeli statistično značilno višje vrednosti telesne maščobe, brezmaščobne mase in mase skeletnih mišic.
