The present contribution focuses on three dramas whose authors turned to ancient myths and historical events to address contemporary ethical dilemmas. The dramas under scrutiny are: Antigone (1960) by Dominik Smole, The Conqueror (1970) by Andrej Hieng, and Electra’s Revenge (1988) by Mirko Zupančič. All three plays are marked by a Badiouan “passion for the real”. Smole explores the conflict between the individual and the state in the spirit of a post-war critical generation, Hieng draws attention to the dangers of colonialism and fanaticism, While Zupančič revives the myth of Electra to confront the impotence of truth in an era of ideological numbness. Despite bearing different aesthetics, all three dramas unite in their need to rethinking myth and history in a completely new way. Izpostavi Smoletovo Antigono (1960), Hiengovega Osvajalca (1970) in Zupančičevo Elektrino maščevanje (1988). Vse tri drame zaznamuje badioujevska »strast do realnega«.

Rule-of-Law Crisis During the COVID-19 Epidemic: The Case of Slovenia

This article examines the Constitutional Court of Slovenia\u27s rulings on the government\u27s COVID-19 measures between 2020 and 2022. During the pandemic, the Slovenian government imposed lockdowns, curfews, and school and business closures, and required a "COVID pass" for access to services. These restrictions significantly interfered with fundamental rights, leading to numerous legal challenges. The Constitutional Court found several of these decrees unconstitutional, revealing serious tensions between public health governance and constitutional democracy. The article has two main goals: to evaluate the extent of rights violations and to assess whether rule-by-decree is aligned with democratic principles. The findings show that the rule of law was often undermined, with pandemic-related legal tools at times used to pursue authoritarian political aims. Slovenia\u27s case demonstrates the fragility of democratic institutions in emergencies. It highlights the vital role of constitutional courts in defending the constitutional order, especially when they themselves face political attacks in increasingly illiberal environments

This study aims to develop an educational model and guidelines for promoting sexual health in older adults (55+), addressing ageism, stereotypes, and gerontophobia. Despite its significance for successful aging, sexual health in older adults is often neglected. The study involved 651 participants (aged 55-75) and used a quantitative approach, examining factors like health status, sexual activity, and education through an online survey. Key findings include a positive correlation between health and sexual satisfaction (r = 0.2 to 0.4, p < 0.001) and the importance of sexual knowledge in life satisfaction (F = 90.027; p < 0.001). Results underline the need for tailored educational programs and open discussions on sexuality. The proposed model aims to improve sexual well-being and overall quality of life, promoting a holistic approach to sexual health care to older adults. These findings are relevant for shaping policies and interventions in Slovenia and globally

The growing presence and randomness of renewable-based Distributed Generation, such as solar, photovoltaic, and wind power, and heavy Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle loads in residential distribution grids result in both a higher degree of imbalance and a wide range of voltage fluctuations. When increasing the number of Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles that are simultaneously charged, the additional unpredicted load may cause several problems to the current grid in terms of voltage deviations, thermal overloads, power losses, increased aging of transformers and lines, decreased quality of supply, and power outages. This paper proposes an approach that models Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles’ behaviour and performs power flow analysis on CIGRE low voltage benchmark grid to investigate the impact on the current distribution grid.

The increased need for clean energy and global warming is among the biggest challenges of the modern age. One of the potential solutions to these challenges, which can be achieved by using existing technologies, are distributed energy resources (DER). DER can be an isolated system of different capacity and purpose, but, in most cases, it is connected to the electricity grid. Connecting a DER system to the electricity grid is a complex task, the complexity in-creases with the number of integrated DERs. In order to regulate interoperability and interconnection of DERs with electricity grid, the IEEE 1547-2018 standard is imposed. Among other requirements, the standard prescribes voltage fluctuation limitations induced by the DER. The analysis of voltage fluctuations – flicker assumes measurement procedures defined by IEEE 1453-2015 standard and implementation of digital flicker-meter described by IEC 61000-4-15 standard. In this proceeding, the realization of virtual instrument for voltage fluctuation analysis will be presented. This function is part of more comprehensive system for DER validation.

Modern production is characterized by great variability, with the possibility of making complex parts. However, as modern technology helps increase the efficiency of factors of production, it can also replace labour to reduce costs. For example, Artificial Intelligence and robotic systems are used in manufacturing, to achieve greater productivity and reduce costly human errors. That is why human resources are being replaced gradually by automated robotic systems. In this paper a novel approach was used to sand and polish freestanding bathtubs, using an industrial manipulator and a standardised procedure of sanding, with automatic detection of force when in contact with a part. This process resulted in over 30% of savings in consumable materials (sand paper, etc.) and an almost 50% increase in productivity. To conclude, using two robotic cells in the process of manufacturing of freestanding bathtubs produced four times greater labor saving in comparison to manual sanding.

Protection, automation, and control (PAC) devices are very important for the reliable operation of electric power systems (EPS), which can be improved further by monitoring the PAC devices. One way is to apply a protection monitoring and diagnostic (PMD) system, which was tested using a real-time digital simulator and two numerical protection relays in the hardware in the loop configuration. Furthermore, the communication between the protection relays and the PMD system was also tested, while the EPS faults were simulated in a safe environment on a digital simulator in real-time. When a fault occurs in the EPS, the PMD system performs the fault analysis, and generates a disturbance report within several minutes after the fault. The tested PMD system also gathers all protection relays\u27 settings, thus reducing the workload of protection specialists significantly.

This paper addresses the detection of changes in electrical signals typical for industrial and power systems, using statistical indicators. A dedicated MATLAB algorithm was developed to identify change points by tracking shifts in signal behavior and statistical properties. To evaluate the method, synthetic signals were generated through simulation to reproduce common patterns observed in these systems, allowing testing under different operating conditions and varying noise levels. The results demonstrate that the algorithm reliably detects change points across multiple scenarios, showing both flexibility and robustness. This study highlights the value of simulation-based signal generation as a controlled environment for testing detection methods and provides a foundation for future application to more complex real-world electrical signal analysis tasks.

Assessing the Impact of Accounting Perceptions on Accounting Major Choice Based on Students\u27 Personal Characteristics

In the paper, the impact of selected popular perceptions about accounting and the accounting major on the accounting major choice was assessed for the sample of undergraduate business school freshmen. Rather than observing differences between accounting majors\u27 and non-accounting majors\u27 perceptions themselves, a novel approach was used, focused on the observation of differences between accounting majors\u27 and non-accounting majors\u27 personal characteristics, deemed as relevant for their fit with selected popular accounting perceptions. Regression coefficients obtained from regressing these personal characteristics on the accounting major choice variable were used as evidence for the impact of observed accounting perceptions on accounting major choice. Results suggest an important impact of some of the popular accounting perceptions on students\u27 decision whether to major in accounting or not
