The rehabilitation of mini-furnace in the foundry workshop is undertaking. The mini-furnace assembly among other things has five main components which include; the furnace shell, the refractory lining [wall of the furnace]. The burner and its pipe, full tank scraps. Full tank and crucible pot. The furnace body is enclosed in cylindrical metal sheet measuring 575mm diameter by 500mm high it is lined internally with superior refractory bricks of 65mm thickness. The furnace by calculation has these specifications; circumstance of 942.86mm volume of 0.04m^3, weight of 49.05KN. The melting process is done in a crucial rammed externally with fire-clay and made from heat resistance sheet at temperature of 700^0 C to 800^0 C. An air-blast from electrically powered centrifugal blower is atomized with condemned diesel oil which flows down by gravity and is controlled by throttle valve in the fuel line and form the heat source when they mixed inside the combustion chamber

    Get PDF
Load shedding is an approach employed by power utilities to manage electricity demand during periods of high consumption or insufficient supply. Effective load shedding requires precise scheduling and condition to minimize disruptions and ensure fair distribution of available power. This paper presents an overview of a load- shedding time management system enhanced by a programmable interface, aimed at improving the sufficiency and reliability of load- shedding operations. The proposed system leverages a programmable interface to enables advanced control and automation capabilities. It provides a user friendly interface through which power utilities can define and customize load shedding schedules based on various factors such as geographical areas, customer segments, and energy consumption patterns. The programmable interface allows for the dynamic adjustment of load shedding parameters in response to changing demand conditions, ensuring optimal utilization of available power resources

The researcher made used of self designed questionnaire for data collection. Data collected from the respondents were analyzed using frequency table and simple percentage. For testing of the hypotheses the researcher employed chi-square as the statistical tool. The hypotheses were tested at 0.05 level of significance and 2 degree of freedom. The findings of the study revealed that; absenteeism of local government employees has adversely affected the output of the local government areas in Enugu State, the absenteeism of local government employees has negatively affected provision of educational services in local government areas in Enugu State, absenteeism has negative implication on sanitation services of the local government areas of Enugu State, and that absenteeism of local government employees has serious negative impact on the provision of social amenities in local government areas in Enugu State. The study investigated the effect of  value added tax exemptions on firm’s performance in the Nigerian manufacturing sector using time series panel data covering from 2014 to 2020 of the ten (10) selected firms exempted from VAT. Among other objectives is to evaluate the effect of value added tax exemption on firm’s performance in the  Nigerian manufacturing sector. The study employ pooled Ordinary Least Square (OLS) regression model and LLC, ADF, PP panel unit root test, which confirmed that all series were stationary at I(1). The panel cointegration test and panel ECM test revealed that total profit (TOP), value added tax (VAT), return on assets (ROA) and return on equity (ROE) exhibited a long run relationship and about 67 percent of speed of adjustment in case of disequilibrium in the short run respectively. Overall, both VAT exemptions and return on equity were found to exhibit positive effect on the firms’ total profits while return on asset was found to be negative though significant. This implies that there is a positive and significant effect of VAT exemptions on firm’s performance in the Nigerian manufacturing sector. Based on this findings, the study recommends inter alia, that  Federal Government in collaboration with the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) should sustain the VAT exemption policy to firms in oder to boost their productivity in Nigeria

A survey designed was adopted on new Information Management on quality,    of service delivery. A total of 189 was studied. The entire sample size wasn’t much, so the researcher decided to use the entire population as the sample size. Data collected was through questionnaire structured on likert’s points scale. While the supervisor and two (2) research experts carried a face to face and content. The reliability coefficient of the instrument was 0.89 using the text pretext method and validation of the instrument. Table and percentages were employed for data presentation and analysis. Hypothesis were tested using Pearson product moment correlation coefficient with 0.05% level of significant to determine the strength of the relationship between the variables. The findings are; IMT has a significant positive effect on organization performance, by reducing cost, improving skills essentials for the survival and growth of the organization in today’s turbulent and competitive business environment. Risky sexual behaviour has been on the increase among young adults and it poses great threat to the nation’s public health system. Studies have reported inconsistent predictors of risky sexual behaviour among young adults. Therefore, this study investigated substance use, self esteem, and locus of control as predictors of risky sexual behaviour among undergraduates of the University of Ibadan. The study adopted cross-sectional survey design while randomly selecting six faculties and accidentally sampled 409 participants for the study. Four instruments: Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test, Self-Esteem Scale, Locus of Control Scale, and Risky Sexual Scale were used for data collection. Data were analyzed using t-test of independent samples and multiple regression and tested hypotheses at a p <.05 level of significance. The result showed that substance use (r =.536, p <.05), self esteem (r = 4.41, p <.05), locus of control (r =-.128) significantly correlated with risky sexual behaviour among the study population. Also, substance use, self-esteem and locus of control jointly predicted risky sexual behaviour (R2 =.23, F (3, 405) = 9.616, p < .05) which accounted for 23% of variance explained. It is concluded that substance use, self-esteem, and locus of control are good predictors of risky sexual behaviour among the study population. The study recommended putting in place preventive measures on substance use such as regular programmes to sensitize the students on the problems caused by substance use, lack of self-esteem and locus of control among the students
