Conceptual Metaphors in Some Christian Praise/Worship Songs in Nigeria
This is a pragmatic study of the naturally occurring speech situations from Praise/Worship songs in the church context. The study involves a detailed consideration of the various contextual features needed and necessary for the understanding of discourse by identifying and systematically interpreting the various conceptual forces behind the utterances of the people in the songs selected. The author integrates the Mey’s pragmeme and Lakoff and Johnson’s (1980) conceptual Metaphor. Conceptual Metaphor according to Lakoff is a powerful instrument to facilitate communication. It is a conceptual precepts shared by members of the same culture. The findings shows that contextual features are most attached to the production and interpretation of speech. And that language is understood as a product of general cognitive abilities (Timothy & Aremu, 2016). It establishes the fact that there are other aspects of meaning which the congregation derived that are not taken solely from the meaning of words in the praise/worship songs. And as a result of this, the composers and the singers should be mindful of what they compose and of cause what they lead people to sing or what people sing.

Impact of Poor Educational Funding on Economic Development in Nigeria
This paper examined the impact of poor educational funding on economic development in Nigeria. Using theoretical approach, the study specifically examined the levels of education in Nigeria, funding of education in Nigeria, and Nigeria’s experience of the impact of education on economic development. Data was obtained from published scholarly reviewed articles. It was revealed that budgetary allocations for education, in Nigeria, as a fraction peaked in 2015 at 11%, which suggests that the required 26% indicated by UNESCO was never met. The observed low funding has necessitated drastic declined in the country’s Human Capital Development Index; increase in the prevalence of impoverishment, and low productivity of the agricultural sector. It was, therefore, recommended among others that, as is customary in developed nations, alumni, endowments, and contributions from large corporations should take on a more important role in education financing in Nigeria; and that through bilateral agreements with external organizations like the World Bank and United Nations Children Education Fund (UNICEF), among others, the Nigerian government should also mobilize outside resources.
Documentary Appraisal of Democratic Governance and Freedom of the Press for Sustainable Development in Nigeria
The study evaluated Nigeria\u27s democratic government and press freedom in order to strengthen sustainable development. In a nutshell, it was determined how to guarantee that people have the freedom to perform their "modus operandi" without interference by analyzing the condition of the press under Nigeria\u27s constitution. The study\u27s data came from official sources including books, journal articles, newspaper articles, websites, the Nigerian constitution, and other pertinent publications. The study\u27s goal is to comprehend how press freedom has been maintained for democratic governance. The work also looks at Nigeria\u27s press freedom and democratic government practices. However, social responsibility and libertarian ideologies serve as the study\u27s theoretical pillars. The study\u27s findings demonstrated that, if it is not violated by established authorities or forces of the elite, press freedom—which also ensures individual freedom—will be the most effective instrument for fostering sustainable development and ensuring democratic government. There have been calls for the country\u27sdemocratic government and press freedom to be enhanced in order to promote sustainable development. The study did come to the conclusion that the independence and freedom of the press—which is regarded as the fourth estate of the realm—are essential to Nigeria\u27s democratic governance and sustainable development. Without press freedom, democratic governance is actually difficult to experience
Empowering the Future: Girl-child Education in Nigeria
This study is focused on empowering the future: girl-child education in Nigeria. Nigeria is widely recognized as a fundamentally patriarchal society, a conclusion rooted in the historical marginalization and subjugation experienced by Nigerian women and girls. Prior to the enactment of Section 42 of the Nigerian constitution and subsequent judicial rulings, customary laws and practices often prevented women from exercising certain rights, such as the right to inherit or own property. Despite advancements in formal education and increased global awareness, the rights of women and girls continue to be hotly contested in Nigeria, particularly concerning the girl-child\u27s right to receive a formal education. The issue of girl-child education has garnered significant attention over the years, prompting national and international efforts to address the situation. While progress has undeniably been made, Nigeria still faces numerous challenges in achieving education for girls. These barriers encompass cultural practices, poverty, gender-based violence, and more. Alarming statistics from 2017 revealed that out of the global figure of 121 million out-of-school children, 65 million were girls, with over 80 percent of these girls residing in Sub-Saharan Africa. Within Nigeria itself, girls\u27 access to basic education, especially in northern states, remains critically low. Empowering girls through education not only enhances their personal capabilities but also equips them to contribute significantly to the social, economic, and political development of the country. This study discusses some of the issues surrounding girls\u27 education in Nigeria, the challenges hindering progress, and explore the initiatives that have been developed thus far to promote and facilitate girls\u27 education. One crucial aspect to be explored is the nexus between girls\u27 education and poverty reduction, as education plays a pivotal role in breaking the cycle of poverty and fostering inclusive development. By investing in girls\u27 education, Nigeria can empower its young women to overcome socio-economic limitations, paving the way for a more prosperous and equitable society
Prior Knowledge of Relevant Mathematical Concept as Precursor of Academic Achievement in Chemistry in Oyo Metropolis

Language and Stylistic Use of Language in the Yoruba Cultural African Society in Sustainable Development
Language itself is dynamic and can function diachronically or synchronically. In actual fact, language as a means of communication in every society is indispensable in virtually all ramifications. The use of language is hereby peculiar to each linguistic community without ruling out various non-linguistic means of communication. Each community has its cultural peculiarities. Each of the languages has varieties. Each of the varieties in turn still has stylistic variants, which is the main theme of this study. However, our study reveals that the Yoruba language spoken within and outside the continent of Africa has quite a number of stylistic variants which bring about a semantic and pragmatic change in meaning in the socio-cultural world of the Yorubas in language sustainability based on sustainable development
