Motivational Indices and Administrative Staff Job Commitment in Private Universities in Oyo State
This study investigated the relationship between motivational indices andjob commitment among administrative staff in private universities in OyoState. Despite efforts of educational stakeholders, there seem to be agrowing concern and dissatisfaction with the level of job commitmentamong administrative staff members in private universities, particularlyin Oyo State. Various studies have addressed the causes of such issues inother states, but there was a noticeable lack of empirical researchfocused on private universities in Oyo State, creating a gap in theliterature that this study sought to address. Two research questionswere raisedwhile one hypothesis was formulated. The study adopted adescriptive survey research design, targeting all administrative staff inprivate universities in Oyo State, using a total enumeration samplingtechnique. Data were collected through a self-developed questionnaire(MIASJCQ) and the reliability of the instrument was determined usingcronbach’s alpha ? = 0.892. The data wasanalysed using both descriptive and inferential statistics. The findings revealed that the level of jobcommitment of administrative staff in private universities in OyoStatewas high (x? =3.13); the level of motivational indices in privateuniversities in Oyo Statewas moderate (x? =2.81); correlation analysisbetween motivational indices and job commitment indicated anexceptionally high correlation coefficient of .974** indicating averystrong positive correlation. Based on these findings, it wasrecommended among others that private universities should implementregular professional development and training programmes. Theseprogrammes could focus on skills enhancement, career advancement, and fostering a sense of community within the workplace

However, emerging trends like digital technologies, OpenEducational Resources, and sustainability present opportunities for enhancing library services. Thestudy also highlights innovations in librarianship, such as e-libraries, Integrated Library Systems, and the integration of artificial intelligence. By leveraging these advancements and addressingsocioeconomic and policy challenges, Nigerian libraries can continue to play a vital role ineducation, research, and community development
AUTHORSHIP PATTERN IN PUBLICATION PRODUCTIVITY OF COMPUTER SCIENCE RESEARCHERS IN NIGERIAN UNIVERSITIES
The research investigates the trends, challenges, and factors that influence the authorship patternsand publication productivity of computer science researchers in Nigerian universities. Datacollected from the publications produced within the period of 2005 to 2014 indicates thatcollaborative authorship is the dominant trend; a small research team consisting of two or threeauthors has produced the majority of the publications. This reflects the multidisciplinary nature ofcomputer science and the need for diverse expertise to address complex research challenges.Larger teams, though less common, make significant contributions in emerging fields such asartificial intelligence and machine learning. Key findings place institutional factors at the center, including funding and technological infrastructure, in shaping research productivity. Limitedresources in most universities in Nigeria make necessary international collaborations, which canalso sometimes be a source of unequal authorship. Likewise, the participation of women, whetherin number or in relevant author positions, is minor compared to that of men-a situation thatunderlines further the issue of diversity and inclusion. Moreover, early-career researchers, despiteplaying pivotal roles in publications, often face challenges in gaining due recognition that affectstheir career trajectories. The study concludes that addressing these challenges requires targetedinterventions, including increased funding, improved access to research infrastructure, and theimplementation of fair authorship policies. Promoting gender equity and supporting early-careerresearchers are critical for enhancing inclusivity and sustaining research productivity. By adoptingthese measures, Nigerian universities are better positioned to make valuable contributions tocomputer science research efforts globally and promote a more equitable academic environment
Cloud Computing: Its Influence on Career Paths of Business Education Postgraduate Students (OTM Option) in Selected Public Universities, South West, Nigeria
The study investigated the influence of cloud computing on career paths of OTM postgraduatestudents. It was guided by three objectives and two research questions. A descriptive surveydesign was used. The population was 167 comprised of Business Education Postgraduatestudents in Lagos State University (LASU), Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU) and Tai SolarinUniversity of Education (TASUED). The population size was adopted using a total samplingmethod. The data were sourced primarily with the use of validated questionnaire that wassubjected to a Cronbach Alpha’s reliability test and it produced 0.703 and 0.811 for bothvariables. Out of 167 expected responses, the researchers successfully obtained 97. Theobtained data were analysed using both descriptive statistics for the research questions andinferential statistics for the null hypothesis. The multiple regression analysis was used to test thehypothesis at 0.05 level of significance. The result [R² = 0.396; Adj. R²=0.390; F= 28.913]revealed that cloud security, data-based management, cloud architecture, cloud analytics andcloud platforms were among the required competencies for OTM postgraduates for career pathsin cloud computing. In conclusion, OTM postgraduates’ expertise in cloud computing wouldhave more employment options if it increases or improves. However, some factors wereidentified for undermining OTM postgraduate students in acquiring the cloud computing skillsand they were lack of experience, data privacy, data lock-in, insider threats, account hijacking, misconfiguration, cloud cost management, cyberattack, network dependency, and data loss.Itwas recommended among others that OTM postgraduates should be constantly retrainedthrough in-service training, workshops, seminars and conferences to enable them up-date theircloud computing competencies for effective records management
Effects of Emerging Technologies on Library Services
Libraries are undergoing a significant transformation as emerging technologies redefine howinformation is stored, accessed, and managed. This study explores the impact of ArtificialIntelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), the Internet of Things (IoT), Cloud Computing,Blockchain, and Big Data Analytics on library services. A systematic literature review wasconducted to assess how these technologies enhance information retrieval, user engagement, security, and operational efficiency. Findings indicate that AI-powered recommendationsystems, chatbots, and metadata indexing improve search precision, while IoT-enabled smartlibraries optimize inventory management and security. Cloud-hosted library solutions haveexpanded remote access, reducing IT infrastructure costs, while blockchain technologyenhances digital rights management and cybersecurity. Furthermore, big data analyticsfacilitates predictive decision-making, improving resource allocation and collectiondevelopment. Despite these advancements, challenges such as financial constraints, stafftraining gaps, cybersecurity risks, and digital literacy limitations hinder widespread ofemerging technologies in libraries. The study emphasizes the need for strategic investment, librarian training, cybersecurity frameworks, and ethical policies to ensure the sustainableimplementation of emerging technologies in libraries. Future research should focus on long-term adoption strategies, case studies of digital library transformation, and ethicalconsiderations in AI-driven library services. Conclusively, effective integration of thesetechnologies in libraries can enhance accessibility, improve efficiency, and remain essentialknowledge hubs in the digital era

It can be concluded that the use of instructional materials can help teachers of Social Studies to perform better in teaching. It was suggested that teachers of Social Studies should make all efforts to use instructional materials in teaching and encourage students to get local materials in their environmen
Problem-solving Technique as An Antidote for Mental Health Problem
Mental health problems are common in humans and can occur at any moment. However, when persistent symptoms and indicators drive regular stress and impair your ability to perform, a mental fitness issue will turn into an intellectual illness. An intellectual disability can lead to depression and interfere with day-to-day functioning, including relationships, job, and education. Most ofthe time, medications combined with talking therapy (psychotherapy) can be used to treat symptoms. A problem-solving treatment gives patients the tools they need to identify and resolve issues resulting from both major and little lifestyle pressures. Its goal is to improve people’s quality of life in general and lessen the detrimental consequences of physical and mental illness
