Traditional Medicine: A Panacea For Promoting Human Security
Among the Africans, life is regarded as the most precious gift of Supreme Being which must be protected and prolonged as much as possible. Whenever there is a threat by disease and other misfortunes, steps are taken to eliminate the sources of danger and get total security. The measures adopted by the traditionalist to ensure wholesome treatment of diseases have been criticized by foreigners and some Africans who, through education and Christianity have been influenced by Western culture. Such critics have questioned the rationale behind some aspects of traditional treatment as well as making some allegations which tend to undermine the sacred functions of the traditionalists. There are not yet enough efforts in form of systematic research to investigate this allegation among various traditional groups. The problem of this paper now remains how trues is this allegation that the measures adopted by the traditionalist are faulty and bad in their attempt to show traditional medicine, as a remarkable versatility over the centuries in meeting the wide range of human health. This paper adopts method of literary analysis with descriptive phenomenology. Arising from the findings of this paper, it is therefore recommended that, demonization of traditional medicine should stop. Because traditional medicine work better for some illness such as pile, rheumatism and so on.
The role of social media in transitioning from Climate Concerns to Climate Action
This paper examines the role of social media in transitioning from climate concerns to concrete actions and explores its potential benefits, challenges, and implications. Social media platforms provide a space for sharing climate-related information, personal experiences, and concerns, fostering a sense of interconnectedness among diverse stakeholders. The study adopted more of an integrative literature review in its methodology. The study found out that through the rapid dissemination of climate messages, social media enables the amplification of awareness, reaching a wide audience and engaging individuals who may not have otherwise been exposed to climate issues. By leveraging social media, climate activists, scientists, and organizations can educate the public on the urgency of climate action and promote sustainable behaviours among others. The spread of misinformation and the presence of climate change sceptics on these platforms can hinder efforts to mobilize public support. The abundance of information and the echo chamber effect, where users are exposed only to like-minded opinions, can also dilute the focus on specific climate issues and impede constructive dialogue. The study recommended that in maximizing the impact
of social media for climate change awareness, several best practices like social media content should be tailored to the target audience, using language and visuals that resonate with different demographic groups. Influential individuals and organizations should be adopted as climate change advocates to significantly amplify the reach and impact of messages. Collaborative efforts between stakeholders, including scientists, policymakers, NGOs, and the private sector, can enhance the credibility and effectiveness of climate change communication on social media platforms. Bridging the gap between online activism and real-world efforts is crucial for harnessing the full potential of social media in driving climate action.

Pre-service Teachers’ Assessment of Open Educational Resources for Learning and Research in Universities in Kwara State
Open pedagogy or Open Educational Resources (OER) aims to democratize knowledge. Thereby, providing free access to users to become knowledge co-creators and learn by exploring educational resources according to their own interests. Having a platform to explore is not as important as having the required resources to explore the platform. Aside from this, evidence in the literature showed that students in developed countries are avoiding the use of OER despite the availability of required resources to use OER. The question is what will be the situation among developing countries undergraduates who have access to limited resources to utilise OER? This can only be imagined. Thus, this study examined pre-service teachers’ assessment of OER for learning and research in universities in Kwara State. Two main research questions were answered descriptively using frequency, percentage, mean and rank ordering. A two-stage sampling technique was employed in selecting 313 pre-service teachers across two universities in Kwara state. A validated researcher-designed questionnaire with a reliability value of 0.83 was employed in collecting data in this study. The outcome of this study indicated that pre-service teachers have access to minimum required resources to access OER and they positively assessed the use of OER for learning and research. In line with this, this study concluded that OER provides avenue for knowledge democratization. This study thus, recommends that pre-service teachers need to be motivated to keep using OER for learning and research purpose, as this will serve as an enabler in building a greater knowledge-based society.

Asset Quality and Financial Performance of Deposit Money Banks in Nigeria: Asset Quality and Financial Performance of Deposit Money
The performance of a banking institution is largely driven by its ability to increase its customers\u27 patronage, retain them and manage its assets and liabilities to enhance optimal returns. This can be done through banks maintaining adequate capital and quality assets for better performance. Even though banks are highly regulated and capital adequacy requirements have been in place since 1988 in Nigeria, many banks have experienced poor performance, as indicated by high levels of credit risk, poor-quality loans and a high incidence of non-performing loans. It is, thus, imperative to ascertain the effect of asset quality on the financial performance of Deposit Money Banks (DMBs) in Nigeria. This study employed ordinary least square regression analysis with emphasis on fixed effect and random effect models. The findings of this research revealed that non-performing loans have a negative and not significant effect on the financial performance of DMBs in Nigeria (â = - 0.022478, P >0.05), and loan loss provisions have a negative significant effect on the financial performance of Deposit Money Banks in Nigeria (â = - 0.002954, P < 0.05). The results showed that asset quality is a key factor affecting the financial performance of Deposit money banks. It confirmed that Deposit Money Banks with good management of their loans achieve higher financial performance. So, to work properly in any economic condition, the banks should have a minimum or zero loan loss provision, which provides financial soundness and stability.

The problem of housing globally became aggravated after the scourge of Covid 19 in 2020. Mainly affected are the increasing low-income earners in developing countries struggling with over population without a corresponding housing supply and stable mortgage programme. This made it imperative to study the phenomenon of housing deficit in Ogun State. The objective of this study is to look at the nexus between housing deficit vis a vis housing delivery and government finance in Sagamu, Ijebu Ode, Ado Odo Ota and Abeokuta south local governments in Ogun State. The study adopted the exploratory research design and descriptive research design, using both primary and secondary data. Using the convergence theory that argues that its the state solely fiduciary duty to solve housing problems, the study discovered that majority of the respondents lived in houses not befitting for humans, this is because successive governments have consistently neglected growth in population in formulating housing policy because this mainly affects the low income earners. The study recommended a template for proper statistical data on birth rate, middle/low income earners, increased budgetary allocation for housing delivery, construction of low-cost houses that are affordable by the lower class. It concluded that there should be sincerity on the part of the state government and this must begin with judicious spending and accountability of the monthly budget on housing delivery which must not only be affordable but also accessible to low income earners in the state
