    Get PDF
This paper delves into the intricate relationship between girl-child education and poverty alleviation, emphasizing the multifaceted dynamics that underpin this crucial intersection. Empirical evidence from various global contexts reveals that educating girls not only empowers them individually but also generates far-reaching socioeconomic benefits that ripple throughout communities and nations. The study examines the direct impact of girl-child education on poverty reduction. It demonstrates that an educated girl is more likely to secure gainful employment, earn a higher income, and make informed decisions about her reproductive health, leading to smaller, healthier families. These factors collectively contribute to a decrease in the incidence of poverty within households.Furthermore, the study explores the indirect effects of girl-child education on poverty alleviation. It discusses how educated girls are more likely to invest in their children\u27s education and well-being, fostering a cycle of empowerment that spans generations. Additionally, the enhanced economic productivity resulting from a more educated female workforce can stimulate economic growth, further ameliorating poverty on a macroeconomic scale. The paper also scrutinizes the barriers and challenges that hinder girl-child education, including cultural norms, financial constraints, and gender-based discrimination. It underscores the importance of targeted policy interventions to mitigate these obstacles and promote access to quality education for girls.&nbsp

Theological Review on Multicultural Church of Mission Christian Perspective

    Get PDF
Multicultural theology began in the 1970’s as a way of expressing theological mutuality and equality between cultures. Christianity was born in many cultures, as can be seen in the book of Acts of the Apostles. Looking at the eschatological vision of the Church, in the Revelation of Apostle John, is multiracial. Cultural diversity, mission, and the Church were all embedded in the purpose for which Jesus Christ died on the cross, when John 3:16 ‘For God so loved the world so much that He gave His only begotten Son, so that everyone who believes in Him may not die but have eternal life”. In the book of Acts of the Apostles God demonstrated multiculturalism in mission when He sent tongue of fire on the day of Pentecost whereby the apostles were speaking and all people present there could hear their language. This paper explores Christian perspective, relevant theory like the theory of unity in diversity in Christ as possibility of mission as a way of expressing the cultural engagement that is more appropriate. Multicultural mission is relational, mutual, dialogical, open-minded, and creates space for all cultures within the Biblical context and make “all” counts, within which God’s mission dei (the mission of God) can be experienced by individual and all. This paper recommends that the Nigeria Church give way to multiculturalism in order to further the misio dei as Christ did and commanded

    No full text
The Hague Convention on Inter-country Adoption is founded on the concepts that necessitate a far more audacious attempt to regulate and manage inter-country adoption on a worldwide  scale. This study is centered on the significance of the 1993 Hague Convention on inter-country adoption. This convention places priority on child\u27s best interest during adoption processes. The  focus on the child\u27s interest is achieved by taking into account the principle\u27s international,  regional, and national legal provisions, as well as their interpretation and application in child  adoption practices. In the long run, the convention will contribute in the development of new initiatives to promote bilateral and multilateral adoption relations. The objectives of this study are to accentuate the importance of the Hague Convention on the Adoption of Children in Nigeria and to explore the issues as regard to Child Adoption in Nigeria. This study found that,  while inter-country adoption is legal in Nigeria, implementing Hague Convention on Inter-country Adoption will be beneficial in preventing child abduction, sale, or trafficking. One of the study\u27s recommendations is the Hague Convention will be beneficial to the Nigerian government as evaluation would show areas where the Hague Convention’s implementation process is deficient, allowing the government to offer alternative methods to streamline the process. This would also benefit adoption agencies by increasing the effectiveness and significance of the educational and infrastructure services provided to people seeking adoption
