INFLUENCE OF INTERNET TECHNOLOGY ON JOURNALISTS AND JOURNALISM PRACTICE
The internet is a global network made up of millions of private, public, academic, business, andgovernment networks connected by electrical, wireless, and optical technologies. Internettechnology refers to the wide range of protocols and technologies that make the internet easier touse and function. The aim of the study is to evaluate how the internet has affected NigerianJournalism practice while highlighting the underutilisation of modern communicationtechnologies in the country’s journalism industry. This study adopted two theories which aretechnological determinism theory and democratic participant theory. The conclusion of the studyis that people use the internet to search for information and updates on current events, which hasforced journalists to look for every way to expand on their coverage of many topics. Unlike printpublications which have a limited number of pages, the audience may access more news on theinternet in a timely manner and watch it through a sequence of images and video snippets that addto the news vibrancy. This study recommends that media organisations should train theiremployees through workshops so as to be knowledgeable about anything related to the internet. Also, government should allocate funds for the construction of infrastructure in remote areas toenable journalists send and receive reports more quickly and easily

Capacity Building and Administrative Skills Development Among Church Pastors of Oyo Baptist Conference
Administrative skills that contribute to the effectiveness of church pastors in administering the church have witnessed a steady decline in recent times among pastors of Oyo Baptist Conference. Therefore, this study examined capacity building and administrative skills development among church pastors of Oyo Baptist Conference. The study employed a descriptive research design. Two sets of questionnaires were designed as instruments for pastors and church members. The sample was one hundred and sixty. Eighty church pastors and eighty church members responded respectively. Split-half method of calculating the reliability coefficient was used to check the reliability of the research instruments which yielded 0.786 and 0.740 respectively. Data collected were analysed using the SPSS package to get descriptive statistics. Findings revealed that pastors of Oyo Baptist Conference give good attention to professional conferences like ministers’ Conferences. The study also revealed that the extent of practicing administrative skills is high. The study disclosed that the prominent factor that affects capacity building is that some churches have policies that hinder their pastors from further training until after some years. Furthermore, capacity building improves the overall performance of pastors as a result of the administrative skills developed. Therefore, it can be concluded that capacity building leads to the development of administrative skills and this will bring improvement to performance of the pastors. It is recommended that pastors of Oyo Baptist Conference should explore other opportunities like workshop, in-service training, to build their capacities and churches of Oyo Baptist Conference should make funds available to assist their pastors in capacity building.
A Corrupt Member in the Cabinet of Jesus Christ: A Template for Effective Management of Corruption in Nigeria
The word corruption can mean abuse of power, relationship and finances. Corruption became popular in Nigeria since independence, particularly during the regime of President Muhammadu Buhari who won 2015 election because of his promise to fight corruption. Previous studies have discussed the life and career of Judas Iscariot, the disciples of Jesus Christ and Jesus himself, but little has been said concerning Jesus’ expertise in managing corrupt members of his cabinet especially Judas Iscariot. This paper, therefore, intends to scrutinize the activities of Judas Iscariot during the ministry of Jesus and how his Team Lead (Jesus) was able to cope with him. Emphasis is placed on John 12:4-6; 13:2, 26;14:22. The methodologies used for this work are exegetical and historical approaches, while library sources were extensively utilized as tools for sourcing for information. The corrupt members of Jesus’ cabinet are investigated with particular attention to Judas Iscariot. The technique used by Jesus to manage the corrupt members of his cabinet has been explored. Finally, corruption has been with human race from the beginning and it will continue to exist. What really matter is the effective management of the corrupt individuals and the resources in such a way that wastage and loss of valuables will be reduced to the minimal.
YAHWEH’s Reprobation of the Shepherds of Israel (Ezekiel 34:1-10) in the Context of the 21st Century Church Leadership in Nigeria
The shepherd-leader motif has occupied a pride of place in scholarship, it is found in various texts of the Old Testament and the New Testament. One of such texts that has increasingly come to the fore is Ezekiel 34, concerning the nature and function of pastoral leadership. Though it may be argued that in the studies of pastoral leadership, some scholars have discussed the implication of the motif of ‘shepherd-leadership’ in Ezekiel 34 for modern ecclesiastical structure. Nevertheless, the nexus between the ineptitude and corrupt dispositions of Christian leadership practices in Nigeria in the 21st century and YAHWEH’s reprobation of the profiteering and corrupt shepherds of Israel has not gained considerable attention. This leaves a lacuna in literature filled by this paper, which focuses on contextualisation of the shepherd motif of Ezekiel 34:1-10 and its lessons for pastoral ministries and Church leadership in Nigeria using rhetorical textual criticism/analytical approach. This is based on Clines (2014)’srhetorical criticism as the theoretical framework. Rhetorical criticism focuses on “the way the language of the selected texts is deployed to convey meaning” (Clines, 2014: 31). Findings reveals that, like the shepherds of Israel condemned by YAHWEH many Nigerian Church leaders in the 21st century have become economically bankrupt, sexually corrupt, and lacking integrity in many fronts. This is a great departure from God’s expectation of His shepherds. However, the life, leadership and contributions of many faithful church leaders who had joined the Church triumphant and some who are still part of the church militant are praise worthy. It is recommended therefore, that probity, civility and integrity should be promoted among church leaders in Nigeria.
Understanding Biblical Sexuality from an African Traditional Cultural Perspective with Reference to Iwoland
Human sexuality can be defined as whole range of physical, emotional, mental, social and spiritual expressions of being male or female. Sexual intercourse isexpressed by various terms or verbs and euphemisms in the Old Testament. In thecontemporary society, sexual immoralities have come from permissive societiesunder the garb of human rights and freedom. The biblical data with respect withother biblical materials share same common traits with Africa waging war againstsexual immoralities. Iwoland like any other African society treats sex with utmostrespect owing to the recognition of the fact that it is divinely ordained for thepurpose of procreation for the race. In order to ensure justice and high moralstandard, Iwo established some taboos and covenants, abrogating or prohibitingsome undesirable actions (with serious appeal to their gods, spirit forces andancestors) and with stiff curses for any breach of those covenants/taboos. It isconcluded that sex is not necessarily wrong in itself. Yet not all sex is physicallyor spiritually beneficial. The fact that people know that certain acts destroyed theirrelationship with the divine, should make one aware that God does reveal Himselfto humanity. It is therefore recommended that people (Christians) should live forGod and not for sexual enjoyment. It is unethical to rejoice in the gift of God andyet neglect the giver. Hence, it is high time proper understanding of sexual purityvia religion is promoted

Leadership Roles in Overcoming the Challenges of Multiculturalism in Christ’s Disciples Missionary Foundation in Mubi, Adamawa State, Nigeria
In any organization, whether private or public, the ability to achieve the set goals depends on the leadership skills of the management. Christ’s Disciples Missionary Foundation (CDMF) in Mubi, Adamawa State, Nigeria is a multicultural and non-governmental organization (NGO) that seeks to take the gospel of Jesus to the unreached people and also engage in rural development of the community. This paper aims to investigate the relevance and the effects of good leadership in a multicultural setting like the CDMF. This paper researches how leaders of CDMF explore leadership training, skills, and styles to annex workers of various cultural backgrounds and perspectives to work in unity and harmony towards organizational goals and effectiveness in nongovernmental organizations. This paper looks at why the staff of this NonGovernmental Organization in Nigeria, keep holding the fort, despite the problems that multiculturalism presents in today’s globalization. The focus is to research, analyse, and make suggestions on how the NGO overcomes the cultural shock its face in the process of carrying out its mandates among people of different cultures. Transformational Leadership Theory is the theory deployed for the study. The central research question is: Why did the work of Christ’s Disciples Missionary Foundation (CDMF) spread beyond Mubi Local Government Area of Adamawa State Nigeria to Cameroon and Chad despite being an NGO? The methodology deployed was Rigorous literature review on leadership, missionary work, and challenges of multiculturalism organizations. Christ’s Disciples Missionary Foundation Mubi, Adamawa State, Nigeria was used as a case study. The finding was that servant-leadership style deployed by the organization negates the challenges of multiculturalism in non-governmental organizations. It is recommended that workers in a new community should be encouraged to learn the language and the norms of the host community to know why the people behave the way they behave. The understanding of cultural intelligence theory and the application of it, help the missionaries to overcome culture shock in various communities. In conclusion, the ultimate goal of an organization will be achieved if the right leadership style is deployed.
