WAVE TRANSMISSION COEFFICIENT OF INCLINED PILE BREAKWATER BASED ON A PHYSICAL MODEL

    Get PDF
Purpose: This research intends to examine inclined pile structures to analyze the effectiveness of inclined pile structures by analyzing the relationship between the transmission coefficient and wave steepness based on several parameters including pile slope (α), the distance between the piles in one row (D), distance between the top of the piles (b), depth (d), wave height (H) and wave period (T).   Theoretical reference: Wave breaking structures are widely used to protect beaches from the impact of sea waves that propagate to coastal areas. Wave breakers are coastal structures that are used to withstand and break the height of waves coming towards the beach, so that the area behind the breakwater does not receive much influence from the waves. When passing through coastal buildings, the waves will be reflected (reflection) and forwarded (transmission).   Method: Physical laboratory simulations have been carried out to obtain wave data interacting with the inclined pile structure. Next, energy spectrum analysis was carried out to determine the energy spectrum of incident, reflection and transmission waves from wave probe measurements in the form of time series data. Each energy spectrum is used to see the reflection and transmission capabilities of the pile structure from the reflection and transmission coefficients.   Result and Conclusion: From this research it is known that in general Kt has an inverse relationship to wave steepness value (Hi/gT2 and Hi⁄ L). The most effective water level for this breakwater is the average water level. The most effective spacing scenario is α=600 scenario; D=1.69cm; b= 5 cm with a Kt value of 0.652 at Hi/gT2 of 0.006, Kr= 0.103 and Kd= 0.245, so only 65.2% of the waves can pass through the structure, 10.3% is reflected, and 24.5% is removed.   Implication of research: These lost waves can be caused by waves traveling through the inclined pile structure, due to collisions between waves or other things.   Originality/ value: One of the wave breaker innovations that are being developed is the pile structure. Currently, a lot of research has been carried out regarding upright pile structures

    Get PDF
Purpose: The aim of this research includes an in-depth understanding of the legal framework for marriage in Indonesia, including the principles governing the rights and obligations of husband and wife, as well as the legal implications of marriage agreements. This research provides in-depth insight into the validity of marriage agreements in the context of land ownership rights in mixed marriages in Indonesia.   Theoretical framework: This theoretical framework summarizes the main aspects that need to be considered in research regarding the validity of marriage agreements and their impact on land rights in mixed marriages in Indonesia. It is hoped that the integration of these theories can provide a comprehensive and in-depth view of the issues relevant to this research.   Design/methodology/approach: This research method uses a legal approach research method. The research methods described include three main approaches, namely the Statute Approach, the Conceptual Approach, and the Case Study Method. The Legal Approach involves an in-depth study of the Laws and related legal regulations relating to the legal issues the author raises.   Findings: Juridical analysis reveals that the marriage agreement may be considered void due to non-fulfillment of the principle of good faith. This could lead to the annulment of the agreement, resulting in the land reverting to state ownership. The complexity arises from the state being potentially harmed as a third party. However, the analysis suggests that the agreement's objective conditions are not met, making it null and void, leading to the return of the land to state ownership.   Research, Practical & Social implications: The results of this research can provide guidance for law enforcement officials in handling cases related to the cancellation of marriage agreements carried out intentionally or fraudulently. The practical implications can also be seen in the influence on the process of making marriage agreements. The parties who will make a marriage agreement are expected to be more careful and comply with applicable legal provisions to avoid mistakes or violations.   Originality/value: Marriage agreements made during the marriage period, especially in mixed marriages, pose significant risks to the legality of land ownership. Despite attempts to bypass restrictions through backdated agreements, the presence of bad faith renders such agreements null and void under Article 1320 of the Civil Code. This loophole creates opportunities for individuals to deceive the State for personal gain. The case emphasizes the need for thorough legislative scrutiny to close such loopholes and prevent potential harm to third parties in the future
