Design for digital deaddiction management for kids & parents
In this evolving digital age, we see children and teenagers getting prone to various digital threats as the parents and teachers find it difficult to handle the craze that kids have for digital devices. It's important for parents and caregivers to educate children about these types of frauds and how to protect themselves. Children and teenagers are increasingly using digital devices and the internet for communication, entertainment, and education. However, this increased use of technology also brings with it a range of digital threats. Digital threats can have serious consequences for children's physical, emotional, social, behavioral and psychological health. Parents and caregivers play a vital role in protecting children from these threats by educating and monitoring their use of digital devices. Furthermore, this project talk about an open communication with children to make sure they feel comfortable to talk about any issue with parents. This allows parents to address any concerns or problems in a timely manner. Addiction to various digital gadgets affects kids on behavioural and psychological level thus this project focuses on the co-creation of better interaction between kids and parents
Spatial impact of textile mill redevelopment in mumbai
The Mumbai textile mills played a major role in the city's and the nation's economy in the 18th century. Spanning 600 acres in the city centre, the textile industry began to decline by the 1980s. Despite government attempts to redevelop the mill lands through DCR58 1991, political motives and other issues prevented its success, leading to a modified DCR58 2001. Currently, out of 58 textile mills, 12 remain defunct, covering 101.4 acres in the core city. Due to limited space in the city, these areas are expected to be redeveloped eventually. Redevelopment of the surroundings of mills has also caught the attention of the government. There has been discussion on the social impact of closing of textile mills on workers and their livelihoods, critical analysis of the government in losing an opportunity to develop public amenities and open spaces for the citizens as well as economic opportunities gained from the same. However, the impact of redevelopment on its surrounding areas and the transformation of a neighbourhood due to redevelopment remains untouched. This thesis dwells on the question of how the redevelopment of textile mills impacts the surrounding areas. The study focuses on analyzing the changes that have occurred in various aspects of the area postredevelopment. Through a case study approach of one defunct and one redeveloped mill, this thesis examines the effects of the redevelopment in terms of spatial aspects at three scales of the built environment, such as area level, street level, and building level. The study also analysed the role of government policies and regulations in shaping the outcome of the redevelopment process. The result from the analysis suggests spatial planning strategies which can be implemented through local area planning. It also provides valuable insights into the benefits and challenges of textile mill redevelopment in Mumbai and assists future urban planning and development decisions in similar context

India's booming economy and quick urbanisation have caused a rise in private vehicle ownership and travel demand, which has increased traffic congestion and travel time. The current idea recognizes that paratransit is important for meeting travel needs from beginning to end, and not just as a connection to regular public transportation. This is especially true in newer cities where there aren't many public transportation options. ithout paratransit networks, cities would see a rise in the use of private vehicles as they continue to serve a vital shared mobility demand of users. MoUD in 2009 introduced the service level benchmarks for cities to evaluate their performance public transport service. The current benchmarking procedure is based on Level of Service (LOS), where each of the parameters receives a score for the city, and these scores are added together to determine the total score. Cities of various sizes and populations are benchmarked using a set of comparable
benchmarking indicators in this technique, which is common to all cities. India's cities are diverse, with the bulk of them having populations between one and five million. Using the secondary data gathered, it seemed unfair to compare the performance of public transportation services in larger cities with those in smaller metropolises. The study's key finding is that, for a city that Census classifies as Class IB cities, one of the benchmarks for Intermediate Paratransit needs to undergo significant modifications for better evaluation of the performance of
paratransit service. This study investigates the cities which lack presence of mass transit component
in trips taken on public transportation within the city, which naturally shifted the focus to the informal mode of transportation known as paratransit, which runs along predetermined routes within the city to accommodate intra-city movements. The study was conducted in Ghaziabad, which is a Class IB city in India and doesn't
have any formal public transportation options. As a result, the city relies heavily on three-wheeler auto-rickshaws as a public transportation mode to provide in-city transportation services for groups of three to eight passengers. This city is used as a case study to demonstrate the methodology. Redefining Performance Assessment Framework for Urban Public Transport System with Focus on Paratransit in Class IB Cities
ii To help meet the transportation needs of the city, the research is to make changes to a performance assessment framework. This new framework is able to evaluate both formal and informal public transportation systems and includes important criteria such as efficiency, effectiveness, passenger comfort, etc. These indicators were not previously included in the existing benchmarking framework used to evaluate paratransit systems. Therefore, the study proposed a set of indicators and recommendations to be included in the present public transport benchmarking mechanism followed in India based on the relationship identified between the
variables, on how to include the city characteristics in the SLB, so that it gives realistic targets to the city based upon its characteristics where paratransit exists as dominant mode choice for the commuter

The current reliance on private vehicles exacerbates these issues and hinders the overall livability of the city. TOD offers a holistic approach to urban development by promoting compact, mixed use communities centered around well-connected transit nodes. By integrating land use and transportation planning, TOD aims to reduce automobile dependency and encourage sustainable modes of transportation such as walking, cycling, and public transit. This approach not only enhances mobility but also supports economic growth, social equity, and environmental sustainability.The implementation of TOD in Delhi requires a comprehensive framework encompassing land use policies, transportation planning, infrastructure investments, and community engagement. It necessitates collaboration between government agencies, urban planners, transportation authorities, and community stakeholders to ensure the successful integration of transit and land development.By prioritizing TOD, Delhi can create vibrant, inclusive neighborhoods that provide convenient access to essential amenities, promote active lifestyles, and reduce the environmental impact of urban growth. Additionally, TOD has the potential to alleviate traffic congestion, enhance air quality, and improve overall urban resilience. This research focuses on the importance of efficient energy planning of municipal services in the Patna Municipal Corporation area of Bihar for the future growth of the city. India's rising primary energy consumption makes it essential to encourage energy efficiency across all sectors. The main goal of the study is to increase the PMC area's overall energy efficiency, which could result in significant reductions in electricity consumption, lower costs and save money for the city while also preserving the environment. It identifies the challenges and opportunities associated with energy planning in the context of Patna and recommends strategies to overcome these challenges and maximize on the opportunities for efficient energy management. Urbanization in India is rapidly increasing, with the addition of 90 million people in urban areas over the last decade, as reported by the World Bank. It is projected that another 120 million people will be added by 2030. However, some researchers are concerned that the expansion of Indian cities is happening without sufficient attention given to the design and quality of the built environment, leading to a degradation of residents' quality of life. The current regulation of urban form and development in Indian cities primarily relies on quantitative tools such as land use zoning and development control parameters, neglecting the qualitative aspects of urban living. As a result, the urban pattern often lacks guidance, and the form of the built environment follows function
without a coordinated approach. To address this issue, the National Urban Policy Framework of 2018 highlights the use of form-based codes as an alternative method for regulating land use and development to create more vibrant and livable places.
Based on the principles of New Urbanism, Form-Based Code (FBC) has emerged as a powerful tool to improve the quality of life in urban areas by promoting more predictable built forms and enhancing the public realm. This thesis aims to explore the concept of FBC as a contemporary practice worldwide. By examining case examples, the study identifies various elements of FBC and seeks to validate their significance in the existing built environment of a brownfield study area in Coimbatore. Through primary surveys, the research extensively
documents the selected area, including its current built forms, street patterns, and activities, and analyzes their impact on urban form. Furthermore, an assessment of the existing planning system and development code in Coimbatore, specifically the Tamil Nadu Combined Development and Building Rules, reveals gaps in the
legislative framework. In conclusion, the study proposes the integration of FBCs into the existing Development Control Regulations (DCR) and Building Bylaws. This incorporation aims to foster a more responsive urban form and facilitate community participation in the local planning process
Tourism led regeneration in maharaj bada Gwalior
In Madhya Pradesh, India, there is a historical, industrial, and cultural city called Gwalior. There are countless renowned architectural landmarks. Food and market shopping, which are both readily available throughout Gwalior, are most beloved by the locals. Seven various architectural types may be observed at Maharaj Bada, one of the major attractions in the "heart of the city" of Gwalior. Maharaj Bada is also home to a number of small and large marketplaces. However, the area is constantly plagued by noise, congestion, overcrowding, and traffic. The initiative initially focuses on resolving current problems with traffic, crowding, or noise by redirecting vehicle and pedestrian movements before aiming to restore the lost character of place. First, Subhash Market will be renovated using nearby or comparable Gwalior-style buildings as inspiration. The market is mainly a garment market, although it is underdeveloped and neglected. A convenient shopping experience will be provided through market designs that take into account crowd control and pedestrian flow. Second, the design creates a green cultural area in the Gorkhi Complex with an OAT, Cafe, and Food Court for people to congregate, connect, promote cultural events, commemorate holidays, and do many other things. Thirdly, in order to relocate hawkers, a vending zone is being planned in the same cultural area. In order to improve people's quality of life, the whole proposal promotes stopping vehicular traffic in the market, giving pedestrians ample room, creating multifunctional parks and activity spaces, and creating a market for all
