This thesis project focuses on the creation of a graphic novel that aims to showcase the rich history and traditions of Northeast India, with a particular emphasis on accurate portrayal. The project explores one specific historical event, namely, "The Battle of Saraighat," which holds significant historic value in the region of Assam. The objective is to represent this historic battle through visual storytelling techniques that capture the essence and visual language unique to the region. By employing authentic visual elements indigenous to Assam, the graphic novel seeks to present an accurate portrayal of the Battle of Saraighat. The project aims to provide readers with a captivating and immersive experience, enabling them to delve into the historical context, significance, and cultural nuances associated with this historic event

This thesis aims at designing a Centre for Contemporary Arts in the city of Indore, Madhya Pradesh. The city of Indore is home to some great categories of artwork such as drawing, ceramics, painting, printmaking, carving, modelling etc. While there are cultural centres in the eastern part of the town, western part is totally devoid of any well-kept galleries or government-managed art centres. This project is located in Scheme 78, Part II, Vijay Nagar, Indore on a site measuring 28,000 sq.mts. The plots in the area have been reserved for PSP development by the Indore Development Authority. The proposed art centre would cater not only to promotion of contemporary art and artists but would serve as a public space transcending the divide between city, people and art. Set amidst an urban area, the centre would have a public plaza, some elements that would capture the attention of a passer-by and draw them into a world of creativity. It would be a place of learning and experience which focuses on artists visitor interaction. It would offer the local and regional artists a place to live and work and exhibit their work alongside. Various art centres like Bharat Bhawan, Jawahar Kala Kendra, Kala Academy and Tribal Museum have been taken up as case studies in order to understand the spatial requirements and functioning of a multi-arts centre in the county. The major spaces included in the design are exhibition areas that would reflect the history of Malwa region and Indore and describe the journey of Indore along with the local arts and crafts of the region. Urban Design (WSUD). To develop a new path, China launched a national "Sponge City Development"
programme in 2013 as an innovative approach to manage urban stormwater and a new paradigm for urban evelopment. China's Sponge City (SPC) builds on the successful stormwater management practices of developed nations, but it also incorporates traditional Chinese knowledge of water management. For the next
stage of high-quality SPC development in the Indian context, improving the law, technological standardisation, and supporting theoretical and basic research, professional training, and new products, the review and appraisal of the pilot's effects and experience are crucial. Therefore, there is a need to investigate relevant variables or factors while connecting them to case studies. This will help to evaluate the sponge city concept's influence or effect in the context of urban floods mitigation and storm water management models. Currently, urban settlements in Delhi consist of an impermeable system in general. Wastewater treatment services can handle some of the water, especially during the monsoon period. After that, extra water is directed into sewage seeps, which frequently direct untreated water directly into surrounding streams or local rivers.
The sponge city concept promotes storm water seepage by repairing and enhancing its own unique freshwater eco frameworks, such as streams, lakes, urban wetlands, gardens, and stops. It includes five objectives that are Water v Security, water resources, water ecology, water environment and water culture. The study would be conducted through two objectives of the sponge city concept which are water security and water resources since the study area is prone to urban flooding and water scarcity, but it will ultimately offer answers to the problem. Also, one model would be presented by the study to fit all the nation's regions with similar
characteristics. "Sponge City" depicts a city that is dedicated to transforming its existing infrastructure into green infrastructure so that it may store, manage, and reuse excess rainwater in an environmentally responsible manner. The Sponge City is designed to essentially operate like a sponge, allowing surfaces everywhere around the city to retain and absorb as much water as is reasonably anticipated

Passenger flow prediction for metro stations using probabilistic model
India's growing urbanisation has resulted in an increase in demand for public transit. In recent years, metro systems have been a popular means of transit due to its speed, dependability, and low cost. Overcrowding and excessive wait times at metro stations, on the other hand, have become a major concern in various Indian cities. Therefore, to mitigate these issues, accurate passenger flow prediction models are essential for optimizing the capacity of metro stations, improving operational efficiency, and enhancing passenger satisfaction ensuring smooth and safe transit operations, avoiding over-investment in infrastructure and reduce the need for idle resources, and improving profitability. In detailed project reports of Indian metros, various four-stage travel demand models are commonly used to predict passenger flow or ridership. However, it has been observed that these models may not always provide accurate data. As a result, there is a need to explore alternative approaches such as probabilistic models to improve the accuracy of ridership prediction. Probabilistic models offer a different perspective by considering the inherent uncertainties and variability in travel patterns. These models consider a range of factors, including socio-economic characteristics, land use patterns, transport, travel behaviour data and additionally, station characteristics such as accessibility, station design, and transfer facilities can also impact passenger flow. By incorporating probabilistic analysis, these models can provide a more realistic representation of travel demand.The results of the study demonstrate that the proposed probabilistic model is effective in predicting passenger flow and can provide valuable information for transit planners.With the use of advanced data analytics techniques and machine learning algorithms can help develop accurate models that can capture the complex interplay of these factors and provide valuable insights into passenger flow dynamics. The Indian government has given a target to achieve 30% of all vehicles to be electric by 2030. The State Transport Undertakings (STUs) of different states are taking steps to electrify their bus fleets. The Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) is one such STU who has not only deployed 9m and 12m electric buses on some of their routes but also has issued a request for expressions of interest for the procurement of 100 mini non-AC electric buses mainly as metro feeder bus routes, to improve the last mile connectivity of metro. The electric minibuses will be 7m long and have a seating capacity of 20. In a survey by WRI, 70% of the respondents had reported that the main reason for not choosing metro is because of poor last mile connectivity. Electric minibuses are a promising solution for last-mile connectivity, as they are easier to manoeuvre through traffic and can access areas that the 9m or 12m buses can’t cater to. The electric minibuses can reduce traffic congestion and improve the overall traffic flow in the city. It is essential to conduct a feasibility analysis to determine the technical and economic viability of introducing an electric minibus system as a last-mile connectivity solution in Bengaluru. The thesis is on the feasibility of running these electric minibuses as a last mile connectivity. The feasibility study includes identifying the best routes and schedules for the minibuses, taking into account traffic patterns and passenger demand hence helping us to determine the optimal number of minibuses required to provide adequate last-mile connectivity in Bengaluru. The analysis will involve assessing the current state of the technology, evaluating the availability of the required infrastructure, and identifying any potential technical challenges that may need to be addressed before the project can be implemented. The analysis will help to assess the potential costeffectiveness of the proposed system and dentify any potential revenue streams that may be generated. The feasibility analysis will help us assess the integration of the electric minibus system with the existing transportation infrastructure in Bengaluru, including compatibility with the existing metro system and the availability of parking and charging facilities at the depot
International convention centre Moshi Pune
Convention centres are a subject of significant importance for research in various fields, including economics, politics, and social studies. However, there is a lack of literature in this area, covering aspects such as feasibility, funding, design, construction, operations, and marketing. The historical development of convention centres has proven crucial for the economic growth of cities. The proposed convention centre aims to cater to the general public and industrial units, offering facilities for conventions, training programs, and entertainment activities. Over the past decade, tourist arrivals in India have consistently increased, and the Meetings and Conference market segment has been identified as a new area for growth. While recent convention centre developments like the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC) and the Mahatma Mandir in Gandhi Nagar have made strides in India, they do not compete with larger international developments. Hence, the absence of an international convention centre in Pune makes this project one of the most ambitious ventures not only in the city but also in the entire country. Establishing the convention centre will contribute to the region's entrepreneurial spirit by providing a unified platform to showcase Indian goods and products at both national and international levels. It will create numerous opportunities for entrepreneurs, importers, and exporters to network with peers from India and abroad. This thesis project focuses on the design and development of a Handloom Weavers' Center in Mangalagiri, Andhra Pradesh, with the aim of supporting, empowering and an addition to the handloom weaving community while preserving their cultural heritage. The objective of the project is to create a physical and social infrastructure that fosters innovation, skill development, and sustainable practices in the handloom industry. The research explores the historical significance of handloom weaving in Mangalagiri and its contribution to the local economy and cultural identity. It investigates the challenges faced by the handloom weavers, such as the lack of modern facilities, limited access to markets, and the need for capacity building and design interventions. The project aims to address these challenges by providing a comprehensive center that serves as a hub for weaving activities, training programs, marketing initiatives, and community engagement. The thesis proposes architectural design strategies that prioritize the physical and socio-cultural needs of the weavers' community. The spatial organization and layout of the Handloom Weavers' Center are carefully planned to optimize workflow, promote collaboration, and create a conducive environment for creativity and innovation. The design integrates spaces for weaving, dyeing, training, design development, and marketing, ensuring a holistic approach to the handloom production process. Moreover, the project considers the sustainable aspects of the center, incorporating energy-efficient systems, natural ventilation, and the use of eco-friendly materials. The Handloom Weavers' Center in Mangalagiri aspires to become a catalyst for economic growth, social empowerment, and the preservation of traditional craftsmanship. This thesis introduces the concept of a reformational centre for prisoners, designed with a focus on regenerative design principles. Recognizing the critical need for effective and transformative approaches to criminal justice, this centre aims to address the societal challenges associated with incarceration by creating a holistic and regenerative environment for prisoners. By integrating regenerative design principles, the centre seeks to empower individuals to rehabilitate, heal, and ultimately reintegrate into society as productive and responsible citizens. The reformational centre embraces the concept of regenerative design, which emphasizes the interconnectedness and vitality of all elements within a system. The facility is envisioned as a living ecosystem, fostering growth and regeneration at multiple levels. In this context, the physical infrastructure, landscaping, and operational practices of the centre are thoughtfully designed to enhance ecological resilience and sustainability. The architectural design of the centre prioritizes natural lighting, open spaces, and biophilic elements, promoting a sense of connection with the surrounding environment. Incorporating sustainable materials, renewable energy sources, and water conservation techniques, the centre minimizes its environmental impact while maximizing resource efficiency. As technology advances, companies continually develop various solutions for different problems, including the challenges faced by blind and visually impaired individuals. These individuals rely on the creative minds behind technological advancements to assist them in their daily tasks, such as reading, computer navigation, and mobility. Technology also plays a significant role in enhancing their entertainment experiences, prompting us to turn our attention to outdoor games. Games are widely enjoyed, especially by children, as they provide entertainment and recreation. However, there is a notable scarcity of games specifically designed to cater to blind children. These young individuals require outdoor games that not only keep them physically fit but also allow them to engage in activities involving body movement. It is evident that games are designed to foster social interaction, satisfy competitive instincts, and offer an escape from reality. Abstract vi vii Visually impaired individuals, like anyone else, desire the enjoyment and benefits derived from playing games. Therefore, this project focuses on creating games that are accessible to blind children. Recognizing the limitations of visual feedback in traditional games, the project acknowledges the exclusion and feelings of overwhelm and helplessness experienced by blind and visually impaired individuals. The game Kho-Jo is specifically designed for visually impaired players, placing a strong emphasis on social interaction and motivation to play. It offers a competitive and enjoyable gaming experience
