The assessment of the application of the principles of IFRS 15 to construction contracts is based on a fivestep model for the recognition of surpluses, which fully provides an appropriate framework for the recognition of surpluses arising from construction contracts

Speech at the International Forum on Globalization and the Dialogue of Civilizations, Sheraton-Metechi Palace, "Patriarchate Agencies", # 38.As a result of the global Covid-19 pandemic, the Georgian economy found itself in crisis. The pandemic also threatens the traditions and values of the community. The country needs to overcome the negative consequences caused by the pandemic, which has acquired a global character. Great global changes are taking place in the world. Just as the epoch-making transformations that began in the 1960s laid the groundwork for what is happening today, further changes will be driven by the consequences of overcoming COVID-19. This applies to everything, including values. Today world processes offer a new challenge to everyone. In order for the demands of globalization to be met and for the country to find its place and function in the modern world, a state thinking based on human values is necessary. The existence of a state-minded society is an irreversible guarantee of progress

The face of a traditional woman as in the case of the Guria community

    No full text
The paper refers to the face and role of a woman in a society in the case of one of the most interesting regions of Georgia - Guria, based on historical and modern ethnographic material. The cultural and moral status of a woman in society, which is fairly defined according to family and social status. The explanation and characterization of these circumstances begins, first of all, with the condition of a woman and her social nature on the example of the family, otherwise, neglecting her rights and responsibilities we cannot create a complete picture of Guria society, as its development was different in the wake of transformation, this situation became noticeable and remarkable from the tribal community. While at the time of the formation of the society, during the existence of the matriarchal society, the priority was on the female side, the patriarchal society was characterized by the restriction of her rights and the increase of the rights and duties of a man. The study of the status of women in the pre-revolutionary period focused on the following factors: the social origin, age and status of women. It should be noted that the marital and social status of high-ranking women was markedly different from that of low-income women. The paper thoroughly discusses the development of Gurian woman according to the periodicals and presents in all aspects their activities in the development of spiritual or material culture, starting with their role in the family atmosphere: that of mother, daughter-in-law , wife, as well as well as by determining her material condition before getting married – by giving a dowry, which was determined by her social origin, this meant giving a dowry, taking into account all the details from her family property, these factors were evident in nineteenth-century Guria, which was also compounded by the rather high-quality development of the culture of dress. Gurian women did not lag behind the women of any region and even of other countries in dressing nicely or in consuming various accessories at all, in tasteful clothes, in the use of clothes made of fabric textiles, which were sewn by apprentices trained by “Fashionists” and many other details ... In conclusion, we must say that, in Guria, the role of a woman as a person in the family and society was interesting, her direct duty was to create offspring for the family, raise a child in the family, distribute the family farm and appear in society, Georgian inheritance law also gave women the right to establish themselves, but the more passive the Gurian woman was in public relations, the greater and more defined her role was in family life. In general, the ethnographic material characteristic of a Gurian woman is voluminous, the carefree and cheerful general character of a Gurian woman was reflected in the creation of the flair of the Guria region

Governments have seen their priorities shift overnight towards upscaling public health preparedness and emergency support measures to cater for the vulnerable segments of their population. COVID-19 has brought an unexpected need for change within organizations, particularly regarding human resource management. The nature of this global crisis has meant that these processes remain under-systematized. The aim of this study, which uses an exploratory design and mixed-methods analysis, is to contribute to describing the changes in human resource management practices and processes that resulted from this pandemic and to present the outlook of human resource managers for the futur

Aleksandre the King of Kakheti and the Issue of Pilgrimage of Georgians to Jerusalem

ეძღვნება პროფ. გოჩა ჯაფარიძის ხსოვნას (1942 – 2020)/ Dedicated to Memory of Prof. Gocha Japaridze (1942 – 2020)Georgian territories were one of the main arenas of the ongoing wars between the Ottoman Empire and Iran in the XVI-XVII centuries. If before that the battles took place on the lands of Samtskhe-Saatabago, the next war started in 1578 also covered the kingdoms of Kartli and Kakheti. This time, Lala Mustafa Pasha was appointed as the commander of the Ottoman army. Before the campaign, he sent separate letters to the kings and princes of Georgia and demanded their subordination, otherwise he threatened to plunder and destroy the country and take the people as captives. King Giorgi II of Imereti (1565-1583), who had peaceful relations with the Ottoman state, agreed to help the Ottomans in order to subdue the Georgian commanders, especially the king of Kakheti and Atabag of Samtskhe. Apart from Imereti, Mustafa Lala Pasha ordered to participate in the "Eastern campaign" and sent relevant letters to the princes of Samegrelo and Guria. It was decided in Istanbul that the campaign in Iran would be conducted through Georgia and all the strong outposts that Safavid Iran would use against the Ottomans would be destroyed. Moreover, Lala Mustafa Pasha was instructed to use the so-called stronghold of Iran against the Safavids of the Georgian principalities. On August 5, 1578, the Ottoman army camped in Artaan, from where the conquest of Samtskhe-Saatabago fortresses began. The family of Samtskhe Atabag and his supporters fiercely resisted the incident, but to no avail. On August 9, 1578, a decisive battle took place between the Ottomans and the Iranians in the Childir Valley, where the Shah's army was severely defeated. Atabag Manuchar of Samtskhe was forced to submit to the Ottomans, although he continued to resist. The Ottoman authorities intended to fully incorporate Samtskhe-Saatabago, turn it into a settlement and divide it into Sanjaks. He needed an official here, not an assistant, which he managed to do later. After the subjugation of Samtskhe-Saatabago, the Ottomans opened the way to Tbilisi. Daud-Khan, converted to Islam, reigned in the throne city of Kartli, who usurped the throne after the capture of the Safavids of Simon I in Iran. On August 24, 1578, the Ottomans entered Tbilisi. After the conquest of Tbilisi, Mustafa Pasha's army marched towards Shirvan. On the way, he had to pass through the kingdom of Kakheti. Aleksandre, the king of Kakheti, known for his diplomatic talent, met the Ottoman commander, still in Sartichala, with his subordinates and declared his obedience. Aleksandre met with Ottoman Pasha in Sartichala and held talks. He gave gifts and undertook to pay certain tributes. In the work, according to the reports and sources of various historians, the issues of negotiation between the king of Kakheti and the Ottoman commander-in-chief are analyzed and restored as much as possible. As a result of the truce, Kakheti was saved from the aggression of the Ottomans. During the march from Kakheti to Shirvan, the Kakheli officials themselves had to guide the Ottomans in the land of Kakheti, one of the reasons for which was to protect the illegal activities of the Ottoman army. Under the truce, the Ottomans promised Aleksandre that they would help him regain lost territories. Of course, it was just a kind gesture on their part, in fact, they were driven by their own plans. According to the Ottoman manuscripts preserved in the archives of Turkey, it is clear that one of the important issues of the negotiations between the King of Kakheti and Lala Mustafa Pasha was to obtain the right to travel and safe movement of the Georgian pilgrims under Aleksandre to Jerusalem. Three manuscripts dated 17 Zilkaadeti 986 Hijra (15 January 1579) and their Georgian translations are brought here, which refer to the permission issued by the Sultan regarding the mentioned issue. The Kingdom of United Georgia and then the individual kingdoms paid great attention not only to the Georgian churches and monasteries located on the Holy Land, but also to the Georgian clergy working there. We briefly touched on the mentioned issue as well.კვლევა განხორციელდა შოთა რუსთაველის საქართველოს ეროვნული სამეცნიერო ფონდის მხარდაჭერი

Georgian Term Bank (GTB) and Terminological Policy in Georgia

Studies of the history of Georgian terminology work, analyses of successes and failures in term-making at various periods of time, consideration of a difficult terminological situation in present-day Georgia, collaboration with European terminological associations, challenges of the digital era have demonstrated the necessity for significant changes and setting distinct plans in Georgian terminology work. How to cope with terminological problems of either Soviet or post-Soviet times being increased by present-day ones? This is a principal question needing an argumentative, scholarly answer. As a result of the study of the current situation in Georgia and of comparison with European terminological standards, the following were identified: 1. Some of the Georgian special glossaries just need editing (Georgian-English terminological glossaries published after 2000); 2. In some domains, Georgian-English equivalents have to be established (as far as glossaries compiled in the Soviet period were predominantly Georgian-Russian and Russian-Georgian); 3. Other glossaries have to be re-compiled (this is particularly true of glossaries of recently developed domains violating various standards of terminological lexicography; such a domain is, for instance, banking terminology; violations were identified as a result of the study of textbooks of banking). The solution to the aforementioned problems is instrumental for the standardization of special terminological glossaries in Georgia. Either Soviet or current terminological problems will not be solved without having analyzed Georgian terminological data, and this is accelerated by the study of the term bank, an aggregated database of Georgian paper glossaries. Eventually, the detection of all equivalents (synonyms, incorrect forms) and the identification of conventionalized variants will make a foundation for the standardization of terms. Truly enough, consideration of the aforementioned cause changes and introduction of innovations in traditional terminology work. Of course, it is no surprise in the digital era. It is of primary importance and necessary for specialists of various domains and linguists to work jointly with software developers well aware of terminological standards and related technologies, providing for the operation of the Georgian Term Bank with international principles. Besides, changes are to be introduced in scientific work; specifically, in order to finally collate data from the Georgian Term Bank, it is necessary to develop special questionnaires, based on ISO 1087, with respect to the acceptability rating. Responses and views of specialists of various domains are of tantamount significance; however, following the collation of questionnaires, there still are several stages before making a final decision, introducing certain changes in the activities of a terminological department, though the most principal approach, being established by ancient Georgian translators back in the 10th century, is still unchanged. One of the priorities of the state language strategy is to ensure adequate terminology work in Georgia which, in case of reasonable planning, can be easily accomplished in a country with a long-lasting experience of theoretical and practical work on terminological problems

Getting Productivism Right-mail google.com/mail/u/o/#inbox/p3?projector=1Financialization of the economy is the most important regularity of the modern economic system. It is due to the qualitative changes in the technical-technological foundations of the economy, which brought to the fore the special importance of the financial parameters of the economic system. Financialization is typical for the economies of both global and post-industrial countries. It is a complex and multifaceted process that causes a number of problems. Among them, the strengthening of the "financial fragility" (H. Minsky) of the capitalist economy and the increased danger of acute financial crises arising from it should be noted. In the modern scientific literature, opinions have appeared that ignore the negative aspects of the financialization of the economy and consider it only in a positive context. Among them, the "New Quantitative Theory" (MMT) is particularly noteworthy, which is considered the theoretical-methodological basis for the creation of the "New Financial Reality". The main postulates of the mentioned theory are critically evaluated in the paper. Special attention is focused on the threat of inflation strengthening, taking into account the economic consequences of the “Corona Crisis” and the Russia-Ukraine war
