The Fuzzy Subgroups for the Nilpotent (P-Group) of (D23 × C2m) for M ≥ 3
A group is nilpotent if it has a normal series of a finite length n. By this notion, every finite p-group is nilpotent. The nilpotence property is an hereditary one. Thus, every finite p-group possesses certain remarkable characteristics. In this paper, the explicit formulae is given for the number of distinct fuzzy subgroups of the Cartesian product of the dihedral group of order 23 with a cyclic group of order of an m power of two for, which m ≥ 3
Effects of binder concentrations and soaking time on combustion characteristics of briquettes produced from fermented gmelina arborea (roxb) sawdust and used print paper
Low-density briquettes are known for having several undesirable characteristics, such as an intense yellow flame and smokiness that are too high for domestic applications. The pretreatment of feedstock has been identified as a tool for addressing these issues; however, process costs and variability conditions has significant impact on the selection and performance of these methods. Consequent on these, fermentation method was employed to investigate the effects of binder concentration and soaking time on briquettes produced from fermented G. arborea sawdust and used print paper binder in this work. Untreated sawdust samples were collected from sawmill's dumpsite and soaked for 12, 24, 36, and 48 hours under mesophilic and anaerobic conditions while used print paper were converted into pulped fiber. Briquette mix ratio by percentage weight proportions varied from (10:90-50:50) % dry basis. A statistical analysis of briquette densities revealed a significant positive correlation between the densities of fermented briquettes and the binder concentration at (p<0.05). Thermal efficiency decreased with increase in binder concentration with no significant difference in fermentation time, while the specific fuel consumption increased with increase in binder concentration. Fermentation time and binder concentration slightly improved the combustion characteristics of briquettes. Economic analysis suggested economic viability of the process
Development and performance evaluation of a briquette cooking stove
In this work, a briquette cooking stove was designed, fabricated, and tested using a mixture of sawdust from Cordia milleni and cow dung briquette as the fuel material. The briquette stove was designed and fabricated using locally sourced materials to provide heat conservation (insulated walls), ash collection, and sufficient air supply (6W rechargeable fan) for efficient combustion of the briquettes in the stove. The principal parts of the briquette cooking stove are the combustion chamber, ash pit, and pot support. The performance of the stove, in terms of cooking duration, thermal efficiency, and specific fuel consumption, was compared with that of the conventional kerosene stove and a traditional metallic charcoal-burning stove. The cooking duration, thermal efficiency, and specific fuel consumption of the briquette cooking stove were found to be 26.51 minutes, 86.34percentand 0.151 respectively. Results obtained showed that it takes less time and fuel material to cook with a briquette-burning stove than with a charcoal-cooking stove. It was also found out that the appropriate design of the briquette cooking stove configuration is critical for better performance
From Alarm jo to Oniduro: Stand-up Comedy as a Neo-Cultural Expression in Nigeria
Comedy (Awada), a treasured genre among the itinerant (Alarinjo) theatre of the Yoruba, has become a dominant influence on diverse performances in Nigeria. Indeed, it could be argued that contemporary Nigerian stand-up comedy has been largely influenced by the indigenous Alarinjo tradition of the Yoruba, which harks back to the turn of the 21st century. Building on Alarinjo as a dominant precursor, the Nigerian stand-up comedy platform, in the last two decades has integrated ethnic, linguistic and religious affiliations to become a bastion of recreation transcending the boundaries of the nation-state. Phenomenal though it has been, researchers have hardly traced Nigerian stand-up comedy from its Alarinjo antecedents, it being a dominant source and influence, to its eclectic contemporary state. Therefore, this study, through a neo-cultural lens, examines the development from Awada/Alarinjo to Stand-up comedy in Nigeria; with a view to providing a credible understanding of the origin, influences, trends, motifs and forms of the fledgling industry. While acknowledging the complexities inherent in empiricism and positivism, the paper charts a genealogical argument for Nigerian stand-up comedy beginning with the performances of unnamed palace satiric entertainers which are traceable to almost every ethnic group in Nigeria, the diverse comic performances inherent in mask dramaturgy, through the Alc-ritualizcd’ itinerant troupes among the Yoruba. It connects this with the professional travelling theatre of the Ogunde Tradition that brought the traditional theatres of Nigeria, the art of Moses Olaiya, and Gbenga Adeboye, the precursor of Yoruba and indeed contemporary stand-up comedy in Nigeria into limelight. Linking these with aspects of the art of Alii Baba, Gbenga Adeyinka I, Julius Agwu, Basket Mouth, Gandoki, De Don Klint de Drunk and Mohammed Danjuma among others, stand-up comedy-as a contemporary art- is purposively interrogated. Thus, the paper chronicles the sociological, literary and multicultural metamorphosis of this theatrical and comical form
Re-imaging Nigeria value of safety through the discourse of security situations among community leaders in Akinyele Local Government Area of Oyo State
Insecurity in Nigeria has turned out to be a phenomenon which goes beyond insurgency, organised kidnapping and other socio-economic and political tensions. The aim of the study is to assess Nigeria value of safety through a critical discourse of some security Situation among community leaders in Akinyele local government area of Oyo state. The study adopted the qualitative research approach. The participants of the study comprised of 18 stakeholders holding key community leadership positions in Akinyele local government area of the state. The participants were selected using the intense-case of purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through audio-taped group interview. The credibility of this study was enhanced by expert review. The interview schedule reviewed by experts and the reliability was established using the formula proposed by Miles and Huberman which yielded 0.74. The data collected from the interview were examined using thematic analysis. The findings of the study showed that safety value is of paramount importance and should be inculcated in people at the early stage of life. The participants affirmed that community members are critical to upholding value of safety even when there are security apparatus such as Amotekun, Vigilante group within the axis. Thus, participants suggested that community fora should organise talks on good value acquisition as fundamental for safe living. Hence, it is recommended that security education should be allowed to thrive as course independent of any discipline and must be made compulsory in the school System and at all levels of education. There is need to adopt learner-centred methods to disseminate core values and tenet of security to students. Efforts should be geared towards making Nigeria a secured society through adult modeling of positive behaviours and exhibition of good conducts
Assessment of attitude, practice and barriers to pharmaceutical care among community pharmacists in Ibadan
Background: Pharmaceutical care (PC) is a professional responsibility of a pharmacist that involves medication management with the overall goal of improving the quality of life of patient.
Objectives: To evaluate the attitude, practice, and barriers to PC among community pharmacists in Ibadan.
Method: A cross-sectional survey was conducted among community pharmacists between May and July 2021, with the aid of a self-administered questionnaires, information on socio-demographic characteristics, practice, attitudes, and barriers to PC was obtained. A consecutive sampling technique was used for participants’ enrolment. Participating pharmacists must have had a minimum of one-year practice experience in a community pharmacy. Pharmacy students, interns, non-pharmacist attendants, and community pharmacists who were absent from their pharmacies during the study were excluded. Data were summarized with descriptive statistics.
Results: Over 12 weeks, 120 survey were collected (90.9% response rate). About (115; 95.8%) of respondents had good practice of PC and reported that pharmaceutical care is a timely innovation to pharmacy practice. However, only (62; 52.0%) had positive attitude and (117; 97.5%) believed more pharmaceutical care could be provided. Regarding their practice, most respondents (118; 98.3%) stated pharmaceutical care involves monitoring improvement in patient response to treatment and adherence to treatment regime and counselling patients with drug therapy problems. The top detected barriers for PC provision included insufficient time (71; 59.2%), and inadequate collaboration with other healthcare professionals (56; 46.7%).
Conclusion: Community pharmacists in Ibadan demonstrated good practice and positive attitudes towards PC provision. However, further work should emphasise on improving PC understanding, better collaboration among other healthcare professionals and overcoming system-related barriers.
