Meddig maradt meg a magyar identitás Magna Hungáriában?
A keleti magyarok kérdésköre a magyar tudományosság egy alig kutatott területe. Sokáig az a nézet volt a meghatározó, hogy Magna Hungáriában csak egy magyar töredék maradt. Ez a vélemény jól illeszkedett jelenlegi ismereteinkhez. Hiszen a Kárpát-medencében a honfoglaló magyar törzsszövetség egy évszázadokig sikeres, a mai napig létező államiság alapjait rakta le. Az Urál-vidéki magyarokról viszont utoljára Julianus barát hozott hírt a mongol támadás előestéjén. A legújabb kutatások szerint azonban több magyar maradt Magna Hungáriában, mint korábban gondoltuk, és a magyar identitás túlélhette a mongol hódítást.

Homokpuszta gyepi boszorkánykör növénytani és takarmányozási vizsgálata
Pannonian sand grasslands represent a prominent nature conservation value, for the maintenance of which knowledge of appropriate grassland management practices is indispensable. Our research investigated the complex effects of a phenomenon known as fairy rings – specifically, rings formed by Agaricus xanthodermus – which transform both the soil and the vegetation. In the different zones of a 14 m diameter fairy ring, we performed detailed botanical surveys using a total of 288 quadrats, each 0.5 m×0. 5m in area. These were evaluated using Borhidi's ecological indicators and the Balázs method for estimating yield and fodder value.The fairy ring exerts a dual, spatially distinct effect on the vegetation. Intensive nitrogen mobilisation occurred at the fungal front, leading to the rapid dominance of the nitrogen-demanding, ruderal species Elymus repens. The characteristics of this zone included a steep increase in total cover, a drastic decrease in diversity, and a decline in the vegetation's naturalness value. Moving inwards from the ring, the effect weakened; regeneration was taking place, where the fodder-valuable Poa angustifolia dominated, resulting in the highest fodder value (K-value) in the central part of the ring. However, diversity remained low here as well, due to monodominance.In summary, it can be concluded that the A. xanthodermus fairy ring functions as an ecosystem engineer, generating significant spatial heterogeneity in the grassland. Based on our results, a comprehensive assessment of the effects of fairy rings is essential to develop sustainable management and conservation practices for Pannonian grasslands, with particular regard to the balance between forage production and biodiversity.A Pannon homoki gyepek kiemelkedő természetvédelmi értéket képviselnek, melyek fenntartásához a megfelelő gyepgazdálkodási gyakorlatok ismerete nélkülözhetetlen. Kutatásunk egy olyan jelenség, a boszorkánykörök – konkrétan az Agaricus xanthodermus által képzett kör – komplex hatásait vizsgálta, amelyek a talajt és a növényzetet egyaránt átalakítják. A 14 m átmérőjű boszorkánykör különböző zónáiban összesen 288 db, 0,5m × 0,5 m területű kvadráttal végeztünk részletes növénytani felvételezést, melyet a Borhidi-féle ökológiai mutatókkal, valamint a Balázs-féle termés- és takarmányérték-becslő módszerrel értékeltünk.
A boszorkánykör a növényzetre kettős, térben tagolt hatást gyakorol. A gombafronton intenzív nitrogén-mobilizáció zajlott, ami a nitrogénigényes, ruderális Elymus repens gyors dominanciájához vezetett. Ennek a zónának a jellemzői az összborítás meredek növekedése, a diverzitás drasztikus csökkenése és a növényzet természetesség értékének degradációja volt. A kör belseje felé haladva a hatás enyhült; regeneráció zajlott, itt a takarmányozási szempontból értékes Poa angustifolia dominált, ami a kör középső részén a legmagasabb takarmányértéket (K-érték) eredményezte, ám a diverzitás itt is alacsony maradt a monodominancia miatt.
Összességében megállapítható, hogy az A. xanthodermus boszorkányköre ökoszisztéma-mérnökként működik, jelentős térbeli heterogenitást kialakítva a gyepen. Eredményeink alapján a boszorkánykörök hatásainak komplex értékelése elengedhetetlen a pannon gyepek fenntartható gazdálkodási és természetvédelmi gyakorlatának kidolgozásához, különös tekintettel a takarmánytermelés és a biodiverzitás közötti egyensúlyra
On the nine-point conic of hyperbolic triangles
In the Cayley–Klein model, we review some basic results concerning the geometry of hyperbolic triangles. We introduce a new definition of the circumcircle of a hyperbolic triangle, guaranteed to exist in every case, and describe its main properties. Our central theorem establishes, by means of purely elementary projective geometric arguments, that a hyperbolic triangle has a nine-point conic if and only if it is a right triangle.

At the turn of the fifteenth to the sixteenth century, Europe experienced profound upheavals that affected politics, society, culture and religion alike. After the population decline caused by the plague and wars, growth began again. Trade, commerce and agriculture flourished, particularly as a result of the overseas discoveries made by Spain and Portugal. Politically, early absolutist structures emerged in Western Europe: in France, England, Spain and Portugal, the influence of the nobility was curtailed in favour of strong monarchies. At the same time, these powers became increasingly expansionist in their foreign policy. In the Holy Roman Empire, however, the situation was more complex: internal conflicts such as the Hussite Wars and ecclesiastical tensions weakened central authority. It was not until Maximilian I that reforms were introduced with the Imperial Chamber Court and Imperial Circles, although the emperor had only limited power. Italy remained politically fragmented, and rival city-states and foreign powers prevented lasting stability. After the Hundred Years’War, France pursued expansion plans in Burgundy and Italy, while in Hungary, after the death of Matthias Corvinus, dynastic ties secured the Habsburgs’; long-term access to Bohemia and Hungary.
Culturally, the Renaissance and Humanism shaped the era. New universities – especially in German-speaking countries – and the invention of printing contributed significantly to the spread of knowledge. At the same time, the Church fell into a deep crisis due to the sale of offices, the indulgence trade and the moral decline of the clergy, which intensified calls for reform. The House of Habsburg, especially under Frederick III and Maximilian I, gained increasing influence through marriage politics and territorial security. Urbanization induced land use/land cover change and its impact on land surface temperature in Bhubaneshwar city, India
The study was conducted in Bhubaneswar City, the capital of the Indian state of Odisha. The impact of the increase in surface temperature on the city was studied by retrieving LST, Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI), and Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDBI) values of Bhubaneswar using Landsat 5 and Landsat 8 data for 2001, 2011, and 2021. The surface urban heat island (SUHI) effect was also studied to identify temperature changes and hotspots in the city. There was a rise of 3.93℃ and 1.55℃ in the maximum and minimum LST in Bhubaneshwar city from 2001 to 2021. The heating effect of the built-up and cooling effect of vegetation was ascertained through correlation analysis between LST and NDBI (positive) and between LST and NDVI (negative). The results of this study will help the government and urban planners to identify heat stress and vulnerable areas, thereby contributing to better monitoring and future planning of the city. Thus, this will lead to efficient heat strategies and action plans such as developing green spaces in and around the city
