Get PDFThe article addresses the issue of social inclusion of people with disabilities, especially intellectual disabilities, and the role played by teachers and special education teachers in this process. It highlights the challenges and opportunities associated with educational and social work with people with diverse needs. The text draws attention to the need to overcome mental barriers, use simple language in communication, and listen carefully when interacting with people with intellectual disabilities. Working with people with intellectual disabilities can be not only an important professional experience but also a source of deep reflection and personal development. The article emphasises that the basis for effective support is the recognition of the equality and dignity of every human being.Artykuł podejmuje temat inkluzji społecznej osób z niepełnosprawnościami, w szczególności intelektualnymi, oraz roli, jaką w tym procesie odgrywają nauczyciele i pedagodzy specjalni. Ukazano wyzwania i możliwości związane z pracą edukacyjną i społeczną z osobami o zróżnicowanych potrzebach. Tekst zwraca uwagę na konieczność przekraczania barier mentalnych, prostoty języka w komunikacji oraz uważnej obserwacji w kontakcie z osobami z niepełnosprawnością intelektualną. Praca z niemi może być nie tylko ważnym doświadczeniem zawodowym, ale również źródłem głębokich refleksji i osobistego rozwoju. No full textThe paper discusses the place and role of managers in modern societies. The starting point is James Burnham’s concept of the managerial revolution from eight decades ago. However, the author refers to classic concepts in the social sciences and the latest approaches in this field. He tries to prove that there will be no revolution in the management of modern economic organisations. However, he points to several evolutionary changes that have taken place and are still taking place — both in the social and economic structures. Analysing managers in a multidimensional way is possible by combining two perspectives of social reality: micro-sociological and macro-sociological.Artykuł omawia miejsce i rolę menedżerów we współczesnych społeczeństwach. Punktem wyjścia jest koncepcja rewolucji menedżerskiej Jamesa Burnhama sprzed ośmiu dekad. Autor odwołuje się jednakże nie tylko do klasycznych koncepcji w naukach społecznych, lecz także do najnowszych ujęć w tym zakresie. Stara się dowieść, że rewolucji w zarządzaniu nowoczesnymi organizacjami gospodarczymi nie będzie. Wskazuje jednak na szereg ewolucyjnych zmian, które zaszły i wciąż zachodzą – tak w strukturze społecznej, jak i w strukturze gospodarczej. Analizowanie menedżerów w sposób wielowymiarowy jest możliwe dzięki połączeniu dwóch perspektyw oglądu społecznej rzeczywistości: mikrosocjologicznej oraz makrosocjologicznej
Synodality and the Subjectivity of the Laity in the Church
Get PDFThe XVI Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops, initiated by Pope Francis on 9—10 October 2021 in Rome, under the watchword: “Towards a Synodal Church: Communion, Participation and Mission,” involves lay people on an unprecedented scale in co-creating the synodal process. Why is this voice of lay people so important that it should be heard not only in the synodal process but — more broadly speaking — in the entire synodal style of functioning of the Church? This is connected with the fact that lay people are by no means an inferior part of the Church, what is more — the foundation of their subjectivity in the Church is not first of all the division into clergy and laity, which has a secondary meaning and specifies the nature of the vocation realized in the Church, but the Christian identity received with holy baptism. El País de las Amazonas: Una delimitación imaginada en la cartografía francesa colonial del siglo XVIII
Get PDFSince the mid-16th century, cartographic representations of the New World included a large river that crossed the southern continent from east to west. Despite names such as Santa María de la Mar Dulce or Río de Orellana, in reference to the Spanish captain who led the expedition that made its hazardous discovery in 1542, a mythical European reference ended up prevailing: the Amazons River. This hydronym also became the toponym that since then refers to the extensive basin defined by the wide main channel with its innumerable tributaries. Nevertheless, during the colonial domination period, none of the European empires used the term “Amazon” to officially name any of their jurisdictions in America. Then the aim is to demonstrate how French cartography produced during the 18th century constantly presented and reproduced an imagined territorial delimitation marked as “the Country of the Amazons”, probably in accordance with the French colonial interest in establishing a presence in the region disputed mainly by the Spanish and Portuguese. Although, in the end, such delimitation was just another product of the colonial geographic imagination and, specially, of the mythical imaginaries associated with the region since its discovery

Get PDFThe article is devoted to the analysis of the English translation of Wojna polsko-ruska pod flagą biało-czerwoną by Dorota Masłowska, published in Poland in 2002. The inquiry is situated in the context of the postcolonial theory of translation and is conducted from the perspective of the receiving culture. The research reveals that Benjamin Paloff, in the process of translation, favoured domestication over the foreignization strategy, which caused partial obliteration of the source culture in the translated text.Artykuł poświęcony jest analizie tłumaczenia na język angielski wydanej w Polsce w roku 2002 Wojny polsko-ruskiej pod flagą biało-czerwoną autorstwa Doroty Masłowskiej. Badanie usytuowano w kontekście postkolonialnej teorii przekładu i przeprowadzono z perspektywy kultury przyjmującej. Dokonana analiza prowadzi do wniosków, że Benjamin Paloff, podejmując decyzje translatorskie, częściej wybierał metodę udomowienia niż egzotyzacji, co spowodowało częściowe zatarcie w przekładzie cech kultury źródłowej obecnych w oryginale

Get PDFThe article provides an interdisciplinary analysis of a part Piosenki nie śpiewane Żonie, included in the collection Chirurgiczna precyzja: elegie i piosenki z lat 1995–1997 by Stanisław Barańczak. The author focuses on the aspect of musicality in the poems, especially in the context of so-called latent musicality, which manifests in these poems through the transposition of musical genres and forms into the realm of literature. Based on Andrzej Hejmej’s categorization of musicality, the author distinguishes intermedial phenomena; she examines the poems separately and in the perspective of the part of the collection identified by Barańczak, often marginalized, which is a love confession to his wife. Through a formal analysis of the structure of musical genres – both classical and popular (madrigal, aria, blues, alba, serenade) – to which the poet referred to in the titles of his poems, the author uncovers new interpretative clues hidden in the construction of the poems. Her analysis confirms the critics’ opinion on Stanisław Barańczak’s masterful poetic craftsmanship and virtuosity in handling the form of the text.Artykuł stanowi interdyscyplinarną analizę części Piosenki nie śpiewane Żonie, wchodzącej w skład tomu Chirurgiczna precyzja: elegie i piosenki z lat 1995–1997 Stanisława Barańczaka. Autorka skupia się na aspekcie muzyczności wierszy, zwłaszcza w kontekście tzw. muzyczności utajonej, przejawiającej się w tych wierszach poprzez transpozycję gatunków i form muzycznych na grunt literatury. Opierając się na kategoryzacji muzyczności Andrzeja Hejmeja, dokonuje rozróżnienia zjawisk intermedialnych; wiersze bada osobno, a także w perspektywie wyodrębnionej przez Barańczaka części tomu, często marginalizowanej, będącej wyznaniem miłosnym kierowanym do żony. W toku formalnej analizy budowy gatunków muzycznych – zarówno klasycznych, jak i rozrywkowych (madrygału, arii, bluesa, alby, serenady) – do których odwoływał się w tytułach wierszy poeta, autorka odkrywa nowe wskazówki interpretacyjne utajone w konstrukcji wierszy. Get PDFThis reconstruction of the cognitive processes and structures of the domestic cat is written from the cognitive-zoopsychological perspective and focuses only on selected processes, abilities and mental aspects of the cat, which, in the author’s opinion, are a necessary condition for ensuring the animal’s maximum welfare. The main goal of the article is to confirm the thesis that the scientific recognition of the richness of the mental world provides evidence for the need to increase welfare by adequately enriching the environment in which our cat is kept. The text is divided into two main parts, with the reconstruction of the lower and separately higher cognitive processes in the cat’s mind. The first part of the article briefly discusses the ability of cats to learn and some perception processes. The second part focuses on causal thinking, the phenomenon of consciousness and the social competences of the cat as well.Ta rekonstrukcja procesów i struktur poznawczych kota domowego napisana jest z perspektywy poznawczo-zoopsychologicznej i skupia się tylko na wybranych procesach, zdolnościach i aspektach psychicznych kota, które zdaniem autora są warunkiem koniecznym zapewnienia zwierzęciu maksymalny dobrostan. Głównym celem artykułu jest potwierdzenie tezy, że naukowe rozpoznanie bogactwa świata mentalnego jest dowodem na potrzebę zwiększenia dobrostanu poprzez odpowiednie wzbogacenie środowiska, w którym nasz kot jest przetrzymywany. Tekst podzielony jest na dwie główne części, z rekonstrukcją niższych i osobno wyższych procesów poznawczych w umyśle kota. W pierwszej części artykułu pokrótce omówiono zdolność kotów do uczenia się oraz niektóre procesy percepcyjne.
