Get PDFThe article focuses on the changes taking place within zoos, which are losing their anthropocentric character. This is influenced by new, ethical approaches of people operating within these institutions. The analysis also touches on the awareness of discrimination against certain groups of people and its impact on the oppressive treatment of animals. The intertwining of the fates of humans and non-humans makes their fates similar. This is alluded to by authors of literary testimonies. With the help of their work and previous activities, they try to subvert, allowing for the change of meanings and humanization of human and animal subjects. The argument is based on Antonina Żabińska’s prose Ludzie i zwierzęta (1968) and Patryk Pufelski’s diary, Pawilon małych ssaków (2022).Artykuł skupia się na przemianach, jakie zachodzą w ramach ogrodów zoologicznych, zatracających swój antropocentryczny charakter. Wpływ na to mają nowe, etyczne podejścia osób, działających w ramach tychże instytucji. Analiza dotyka również świadomości dyskryminacji pewnych grup ludzi i wpływie tego na opresyjny sposób traktowania zwierząt. Splecenie losów ludzi i nie-ludzi sprawia, że ich losy są podobne. Nawiązują do tego twórcy literackich świadectw. Za pomocą swojej twórczości i wcześniejszych działań próbują dokonać subwersji, pozwalającej na zmianę znaczeń oraz humanizacji ludzkich i zwierzęcych podmiotów. Za podstawę wywodu przyjęto prozę Antoniny Żabińskiej „Ludzie i zwierzęta” (1968) oraz pamiętnik Patryka Pufelskiego, „Pawilon małych zwierząt” (2022).Статья посвящена изменениям, происходящим в зоопарках, которые теряют свой антропоцентрический характер. На это оказывают влияние новые этические подходы тех, кто работает в данных учреждениях. Анализ касается также осознания дискриминации определенных групп людей и влияния этого на угнетающее отношение к животным. Сплетение судеб людей и нелюдей показывает, что эти судьбы похожи. На это указывают авторы литературных свидетельств. Своими произведениями и предыдущей деятельностью они пытаются осуществить субверсию, которая позволяет изменить значения, а также гуманизировать человеческие и животные субъекты. Основой для аргументации послужили проза Антонины Жабиньской Ludzie i zwierzęta (1968) и мемуары Патрика Пуфельского Pawilon małych ssaków (2022)
Praktyczne aspekty wykorzystania oprogramowania ChatGPT 3.5 przez adwokatów w komunikacji procesowej w polskim postępowaniu procesowym
Get PDFIncreased use of large language models (LLMs) that are part of artificial intelligence has been found in the practice of law application. ChatGPT 3.5 software can be a useful support for attorneys acting as an attorney, as it has a wide range of applications, first of all, it can create ready-madeletters after entering a formula on the command line. The present study includes a qualitative analysis of the use of ChatGPT 3.5 software on the example of two process-relevant documents: a motion for appointment of an attorney ex officio and a settlement agreement reached in the course of litigation. The author set two research hypotheses: (1) the obligation to act diligently for the benefit of the principal is not a negative premise for the use of LLM in procedural communications, (2) at the current stage of development, LLMs do not allow the creationof content in procedural communications that would be completely consistent with the given legal state and would not require verification.W praktyce stosowania prawa stwierdzono zwiększone wykorzystanie dużych modeli językowych (LLM) stanowiących element sztucznej inteligencji. Oprogramowanie ChatGPT 3.5 może być przydatnym wsparciem dla adwokatów sprawujących funkcję pełnomocnika, ma bowiem szeroki zakres zastosowania – przede wszystkim może tworzyć gotowe pisma po wpisaniu formuły w wierszu poleceń. Niniejsze opracowanie obejmuje analizę jakościową wykorzystania oprogramowania ChatGPT 3.5 na przykładzie dwóch istotnych procesowo dokumentów: wniosku o powołanie pełnomocnika z urzędu oraz ugody zawartej w toku postępowania sądowego. Autor postawił dwie hipotezy badawcze: (1) zobowiązanie do starannego działania na rzecz mocodawcynie stanowi negatywnej przesłanki użycia LLM w komunikacji procesowej, (2) na obecnym etapie rozwoju LLM nie pozwalają w ramach komunikacji procesowejna tworzenie treści, które byłyby całkowicie zgodne z danym stanem prawnym i nie wymagałyby weryfikacji
Nazwy osobowe jako wyznacznik idiolektu pisarza – na przykładzie dzieł Erazma Glicznera (1535–1603)
Get PDFThe article raises the question of a possible connection between the use of proper names in the works of the sixteenth-century Protestant writer Erazm Gliczner and his idiolect. In my research, I have examined the material excerpted directly from four, generically diverse old prints: Książki o wychowaniu dzieci (Books on Children Upbringing, 1558), Odpór na odpowiedź kwestyj (A Response to Selected Issues, 1579), Kronika żywota, nauki i spraw Pana Jezusa (The Chronicle of Life, Teachings, and Affairs of Lord Jesus, 1579), and Appellatia, którą się popiera i znowu wywodzi (An Appeal Confirmed and Resubmitted, 1598). All personal names present in the mentioned publications have been reviewed, while the detailed analysis carried out in the article concerns several selected anthroponyms, including the names Eliasz, Judasz, Filip, Józef, Grzegorz and Magdalena. The analysis presented in the article covers proper names used in at least two of these texts. In particular, I focus on the adaptation of foreign anthroponyms over the period of forty years between Gliczner’s first and last publication, viewed against the background of the tendencies that could be observed in the Polish language in the latter half of the sixteenth century. I address such aspects of the above-mentioned problem as the context in which a proper name was used and its referent. The analysis of proper names excerpted from Gliczner’s works has shown a weak dependence of the author’s idiolect on the onomasticon contained in his publications.W artykule podjęto próbę weryfikacji tezy o potencjalnej zależności pomiędzy warstwą onimiczną dzieł XVI-wiecznego pisarza Erazma Glicznera a jego językiem osobniczym. Poddany analizie materiał został wyekscerpowany bezpośrednio z czterech – zróżnicowanych gatunkowo – starodruków autorstwa Glicznera: Książek o wychowaniu dzieci (1558), Odporu na odpowiedź kwestyj (1579), Kroniki żywota, nauki i spraw Pana Jezusa (1579) oraz Appellatii, którą się popiera i znowu wywodzi (1598). Oglądowi poddane zostały wszystkie nazwy osobowe obecne w wymienionych publikacjach, natomiast szczegółowa analiza przeprowadzona w artykule dotyczy kilku wybranych antroponimów, wśród których znalazły się imiona Eliasz, Judasz, Filip, Józef, Grzegorz oraz Magdalena. Nazwy te zostały poświadczone przynajmniej w dwóch badanych zabytkach. Szczególną uwagę poświęcono kwestii adaptacji obcych antroponimów w przedziale czterdziestu lat dzielących pierwszą i ostatnią publikację protestanckiego autora na tle tendencji właściwych dla polszczyzny drugiej połowy XVI w. Istotne dla prowadzonych rozważań były takie aspekty, jak kontekst użycia nazwy własnej oraz jej referent. Dokonana analiza nazw własnych wyekscerpowanych z utworów Glicznera wykazała słabą zależność idiolektu tego autora od onomastykonu zawartego w jego tekstach

Get PDFThe aim of the article is to observe changes in the meaning of selected lexical archaisms that are still alive in the Silesian ethnolect, but have been forgotten or going out of use in the general Polish language, particularly those related to the traditional cuisine of the region. The research material was extracted from lexicographical works documenting regional vocabulary, i.e., Mały słownik gwary Górnego Śląska [Little Dictionary of Upper Silesian Dialects], part 1, Słownik gōrnoślōnskij gŏdki [Dictionary of Upper Silesian Godka], and confronted with the lexis collected in Mały słownik gwar polskich [Little Dictionary of Polish Dialects]. The considerations made in the study led to the following findings: the analysed lexical units, which previously enriched the active vocabulary in the general Polish language, still maintain their vitality in the Silesian ethnolect and often acquire new symbolic meaning. Moreover, a conflict between two contrasting cultural tendencies becomes evident – the departure of certain lexemes from the general Polish language into the passive vocabulary, as well as the return to tradition and a trend towards regionalism. The use of historical and linguistic analysis, as well as reference to National Corpus of Polish [Polish Language Corpus PWN], allowed to conclude about determining the limited scope of a given lexical unit.Celem podjętym w artykule jest obserwacja zmian znaczenia wybranych archaizmów leksykalnych żywych w śląszczyźnie, a zapomnianych lub wychodzących z użycia w polszczyźnie ogólnej, związanych z tradycyjną kuchnią regionu. Materiał badawczy wyekscerpowano z prac leksykograficznych notujących słownictwo regionalne, tj. z Małego słownika gwary Górnego Śląska, cz. 1 oraz ze Słownika gōrnoślōnskij gŏdki i skonfrontowano z leksyką zgromadzoną w Małym słowniku gwar polskich. Rozważania poczynione w opracowaniu doprowadziły do następujących ustaleń: analizowane jednostki leksykalne, dawniej zasilające zasób słownictwa aktywnego w polszczyźnie ogólnej, w śląszczyźnie nadal zachowują swoją żywotność i niejednokrotnie zyskują nowe, symboliczne znaczenie; widoczne jest również ścieranie się dwóch sprzecznych tendencji w kulturze – odchodzenia pewnych leksemów funkcjonujących w języku ogólnopolskim do słownictwa pasywnego, a także powrotu do tradycji i mody na regionalizm. Jak współcześnie badać frazeologię w tekstach dawnych? Możliwości wykorzystania narzędzi cyfrowych w pracy historyka języka
Get PDFThe research aims to overcome the limitations of the systemic examination of phraseology in historical texts using available digital tools. The article seeks to answer the question posed in the title by presenting a functional study of phraseology using the Korpus dawnych polskich tekstów dramatycznych (1772–1939) [A corpus of Polish dramatic texts (1772–1939)] and the intonation analyzer Wydźwięk. I conduct pragma- and sociolinguistic analysis in the context of language functions identified by Michael Halliday; I also propose using selected sociological factors included in the corpus that may correlate with the choice of phraseology in a given context. I verify the evaluation of the intonation of expressions by comparing the tool’s results with my linguistic intuition. The research results are presented in a separate section, juxtaposed with the state of research (systematic analysis) and the researcher’s linguistic competencies. The prospects for using digital tools in phraseological research in ancient texts are presented in the conclusion section.Celem prezentowanych badań jest przekroczenie ograniczeń związanych z systemową analizą frazeologii w tekstach dawnych dzięki wykorzystaniu wybranych narzędzi cyfrowych: Korpusu dawnych polskich tekstów dramatycznych (1772–1939) oraz analizatora emocji tekstu Wydźwięk. Prezentowana analiza stanowi próbę odpowiedzi na postawione w tytule artykułu pytanie. Zgromadzony materiał jest badany na dwóch poziomach: pragmalingwistycznym (w kontekście funkcji językowych wyróżnionych przez Michaela Hallidaya i wydźwięku emocjonalnego wypowiedzi) oraz socjolingwistycznym (z wykorzystaniem wybranych czynników socjologicznych zawartych w korpusie, które mogą korelować z wyborem frazeologii w określonym kontekście). Wyniki przedstawiono w osobnej sekcji, zestawiając je z aktualnym stanem badań (analizą systemową) oraz poczuciem językowym badacza. La polylexicalité en chinois : double perspective phonique et scripturale
Get PDFOur paper tackles the polylexicality which is based on data on the phonics and the writing of the Chinese language. By dissociating the writing and phonics of Chinese, we have conducted formal and stratified analyses of these two aspects. By means of the triple articulation of language, we have shown the interdependence of different articulations of language and the ambivalence of the Chinese lexical unit in its form and function.We have revealed that the frozenness and the polylexicality are omnipresent in the Chinese language, from phonics to combinatorics, and that modern standard Chinese is doubly articulated in both phonics and writing, which explains the gestalt perception of this language and the specific content of the mold which is the lexical unit. We have also drawn on the principle of linguistic economy to clarify certain basic linguistic concepts that are problematic for the Chinese language, such as morpheme, grapheme, word, etc.Il est d’usage de poser la problématique de la polylexicalité en termes de signifiant multiple (plusieurs mots) correspondant à un signifiant global laissant sous-jacent celui des unités constitutives des unités polylexicales. De telles analyses sont couramment appliquées sur des langues indo-européennes. Cette vision permet de rendre compte de la stratification de ce type particulier de signe linguistique ayant, selon une isomorphie systématique, deux strates de signifié (signifiés des constituants / signifié global) et une double combinatoire (Mejri, 2023) : combinatoire interne, celle des constituants, et combinatoire externe qui gouverne les emplois de la séquence globale ; le degré de fixité étant variable allant du plus moins fixe vers le figement absolu.
Partant de la triple articulation du langage et les trois fonctions primaires (Mejri, 2017), il y a lieu de mener une réflexion sur la validité de la notion de polylexicalité en chinois dans la double perspective de la chaîne phonique et la chaîne scripturale. Parmi les questions qui se reposent, nous retenons notamment les suivantes :
Y aurait-il une correspondance entre la polylexicalité phonique et la polylexicalité scripturale en chinois ?
Si elle existe, est-elle systématique ou non ?
Si elle ne l’est pas, quand y a-t-il isomorphisme ou non entre les deux formes lexicales phonique et scripturale

Get PDFIn this essay we intend to emphasize first the subjective way of Victor Hugo in expressing his own thoughts, ideas, visual impressions and feelings within the introductory chapter of this book, entitled “The Archipelago of the Channel”. Then, we intend to show the subjective manner of the narrator in constructing Gilliatt, the main character of the proper novel. In this undertaking, the narrator seems to be objective, while, in fact, he is highly subjective, presenting the hero from an outside view point, and defining his temper and disposition by a collection of gossips and slanders on Gilliatt, from the narrow and xenophobe perspective of his fellow-citizens. Get PDFhe article discusses the style of private letters – theoretical assumptions and genre features of this form of expression in opposition to the communicative reality of contemporary primary school students. Contemporary communication methods, tools, and platforms, such as short text messages (SMS), various instant messaging services, and smartphone applications, have definitely changed not only our conversational habits but also the form, content, and style of messages sent, and have successively transformed letter writing in the youngest generation. Writing private letters is certainly a dying art today. It is possible that one of the last situations that determine children and young people to write letters is school circumstances and requirements (separated from the communication reality and everyday needs). The article aims to present text-creating competence and the method of implementing the informal-private letter style by primary school students. The analyzed research material was collected while monitoring Polish language skills carried out among students of grades 4–7 in two primary schools in the Gniewino commune (Pomerania).W artykule przedstawiono kwestię stylu listu prywatnego – założenia teoretyczne i gatunkowe cechy tej formy wypowiedzi w opozycji do rzeczywistości komunikacyjnej współczesnych uczniów szkoły podstawowej. Dzisiejsze środki, narzędzia i możliwości komunikacyjne, takie jak: krótkie wiadomości tekstowe (SMS), wszelkie komunikatory internetowe i aplikacje smartfonowe, zdecydowanie zmieniły nie tylko nasze obyczaje konwersacyjne, ale również formę, treść i styl przesyłanych wiadomości oraz sukcesywnie przeobraziły pisanie listów w najmłodszym pokoleniu. Pisanie listów prywatnych jest dziś z pewnością sztuką wymierającą. Możliwe, że jedną z ostatnich sytuacji determinujących dzieci i młodzież do redagowania listów są okoliczności i wymagania szkolne (odseparowane od rzeczywistości komunikacyjnej i codziennych potrzeb). Artykuł ma na celu zaprezentowanie kompetencji tekstotwórczej i sposobu realizacji stylu listu nieoficjalnego – prywatnego przez uczniów szkoły podstawowej.
