Ranga Czesława Miłosza z perspektywy recepcji literatury polskiej oraz literatury Europy Środkowej w Chinach
No full textCzesław Miłosz, as a representative of both Polish and world poetry in China, has gained recognition among Chinese poets who appreciate his verses for their ability to connect poetry with reality. This concept is a key element of his poetic theory. Although Miłosz is an inspiring figure for some Chinese poets, the overall reception of his work in China remains limited. The article analyzes the situation of translations of his works as well as the opinions of Chinese readers about the poet. Miłosz’s image in China is complex, and his works are interpreted in the context of local experiences and values. The author attempts to answer the question regarding the distinctive image of Miłosz in the eyes of Chinese audiences, leading to a conclusion about the significance of his work in the international literary discourse.Czesław Miłosz, in qualità di esponente della poesia polacca e, più in generale, della letteratura mondiale in Cina, è apprezzato dai poeti cinesi per la sua capacità di coniugare lirismo e realtà (un elemento centrale nella sua teoria poetica). Nonostante Miłosz sia fonte di ispirazione per alcuni poeti cinesi, la ricezione complessiva della sua opera nel panorama letterario cinese si presenta ancora limitata. Il presente articolo analizza lo stato attuale delle traduzioni dei suoi scritti nonché le modalità attraverso cui viene interpretata la sua figura da parte del pubblico cinese. L’immagine di Miłosz che emerge in questo contesto è stratificata e spesso filtrata attraverso il prisma delle esperienze storiche e culturali locali. L’autrice dell’articolo si interroga sulla configurazione specifica dell’immagine di Miłosz nella percezione cinese e, a partire da questa riflessione, giunge a considerazioni più ampie circa il ruolo della sua opera nel discorso letterario internazionale.Czesław Miłosz, jako przedstawiciel poezji polskiej i światowej w Chinach, zdobył uznanie chińskich poetów, którzy doceniają jego wiersze za umiejętność łączenia poezji z rzeczywistością. Ta koncepcja stanowi kluczowy element jego teorii poetyckiej. Mimo że dla niektórych chińskich poetów Miłosz jest inspirującą postacią, ogólna recepcja jego twórczości w Chinach pozostaje ograniczona. No full textThe article is devoted to the in situ and ex situ protection of the components of biodiversity under climate change in the light of the provisions of the Convention on Biological Diversity of June 5, 1992. The text presents the legal basis for the conservation of biological diversity and characterizes the purpose, structure and functioning of the Convention. It also addresses the issue of the importance of protected areas within the framework of in situ and ex situ conservation of components of biodiversity pursuant to articles 8 and 9 of the international agreement under consideration. The text also deals with the relationship between biodiversity and climate change.Artykuł jest poświęcony ochronie in situ oraz ex situ składników różnorodności biologicznej w warunkach zmian klimatycznych w świetle przepisów Konwencji o różnorodności biologicznej z 5 czerwca 1992 r. Platforms such as TikTok, Instagram (Reels) and YouTube (Shorts) enable the rapid creation and sharing of content with millions of recipients. The article analyzes the legal aspects of this form of expression, especially in the context of copyright, personal data protection, content regulations and the responsibility of online platforms. The aim is to show the challenges faced by the law when confronted with the dynamically developing and difficult to control area of digital culture. Research thesis: The development of socio-artistic phenomena related to short videos creation necessitates a reinterpretation of traditional copyright law constructs, particularly regarding the boundaries of fair use, authorship, and protection of remixed and algorithm-generated content. Research objective: The aim of this study is to analyze the impact of contemporary cultural and technological phenomena on shaping copyright law in relation to short-form videos content published in the digital space. The study also aims to identify legal gaps and propose interpretative or legislative directions. Research material: EU and Polish copyright laws, documentation and regulations of digital platforms regarding copyright protection, materials on the use of artificial intelligence in audiovisual content creation, industry reports, and legal opinions. Methodology: The research is based on the dogmatic-legal method (analysis of Polish and EU legislation), case law analysis, scientific literature review. Additionally, media studies and cultural studies perspectives are incorporated to describe artistic phenomena.Krótka forma wideo stała się jednym z najpopularniejszych środków komunikacji w dobie cyfrowej. Platformy takie jak TikTok, Instagram (Reels) czy YouTube (Shorts) umożliwiają błyskawiczne tworzenie i udostępnianie treści milionom odbiorców. W niniejszych rozważaniach wstępnie omawiam aspekty prawne tej formy wyrazu, zwłaszcza w kontekście prawa autorskiego, ochrony danych osobowych, regulacji dotyczących treści oraz odpowiedzialności platform internetowych. Celem jest ukazanie wyzwań, przed jakimi staje prawo w konfrontacji z dynamicznie się rozwijającym i trudnym do kontrolowania obszarem kultury cyfrowej. No full textIn the article discussing Leszek Libera’s novel, the author proves that, firstly, the writer’s debut deserves greater attention from researchers and readers, and secondly, it shows that the scandalous, dirty, immersed in the lowliness of bodily troubles Utopek can be read in the context of a subtle self-referential game, a story about a story that is expressed in criticism of fundamental ideas, stereotypes, as well as upside-down narratives about ethnic animosities in Silesia. Above all, a complete, artistic story – all the more interesting because it was written in the spirit of free-thinking anaidea (shamelessness). It is only a mask behind which hides the essential cultural and therapeutic role of literature as a medium that, by generating stories, sublimates the darkest energies and provides a language to express the inexpressible.W artykule, omawiając powieść Leszka Libery, autor dowodzi, że po pierwsze debiut pisarza zasługuje na większą uwagę badaczy i czytelników, a po drugie, pokazuje, że skandalizującego, brudnego, zanurzonego w niskości cielesnych utrapień Utopka można czytać w kontekście subtelnej gry autotematycznej, opowieści o opowieści, która wyraża się w krytyce idei fundamentalnych, stereotypów, a także narracji na opak o etnicznych animozjach na terenie Śląska. No full textThe article compares Marcin Czub’s novel debut, The Revelation of the Pig Goddess, with the second part of Paul de Man’s essay “Rhetoric of Temporality,” devoted to irony, pointing to the surprising convergence of the main motifs in these so different and temporally distant texts. This comparison allows us to interpret Czub’s novel as a secretly metafictional work, reflectively summarizing the literary achievements of the generation that includes the very late debuting author, and at the same time to deepen the understanding of the explicit and strictly contemporary layer of the text as a voice in the discussion about the relationship between humans and animals, especially slaughter animals.Artykuł zestawia powieściowy debiut Marcina Czuba, Objawienie Bogini-Świni, z drugą częścią eseju Paula de Mana Retoryka czasowości, poświęconą ironii, wskazując na zaskakujące zbieżności głównych motywów w tych tak odmiennych i odległych czasowo tekstach. Zestawienie to pozwala zinterpretować powieść Czuba jako utwór skrycie metafikcjonalny, refleksyjnie podsumowujący dorobek literacki pokolenia, do którego należy bardzo późno debiutujący autor, a zarazem pogłębić rozumienie jawnej i stricte współczesnej warstwy tekstu jako głosu w dyskusji o relacjach ludzi ze zwierzętami, zwłaszcza rzeźnymi.

Get PDFThe article proposes an approach to metaphorical meaning from the point of view of the theory of profiling, developed within the Polish tradition of cognitive science. The focus of the article, however, lies on the various types of relations that arise between the tenor and vehicle of metaphor on the interlingual plane, depending on the profile. Within these relations, various translation problems emerge, including metaphorical false friends. The article also presents the possibilities, offered bytaking profiles into account when selecting a translat.Artykuł proponuje podejście do znaczenia metaforycznego z punktu widzenia teorii profilowania, powstałej w ramach polskiej szkoły kognitywistycznej. Tekst zawiera przykłady kontekstowej realizacji leksemu worek, które eksplikują profilowanie, zachodzące zarówno podczas dosłownego, jak i metaforycznego użycia wyrazu. Focus artykułu jednak leży na różnego rodzaju stosunkach, które powstają między komponentami metafory na płaszczyźnie międzyjęzykowej w zależności od profilu. W ramach tych stosunków zarysowują się różne translatologiczne problemy, w tym obecność metaforycznych aproksymatów. Powstają one w przypadku odmiennych tematów i identycznych nośników metaforycznych u których wyprofilowano różne cechy, np. fox w języku angielskim i lis w językach słowiańskich. Artykuł także przedstawia możliwości, które daje uwzględnienie profili przy doborze translatu, a również zwraca uwagę na fakt, że metafory, wyodrębnione na podstawie różnych rodzajów znaczenia, czyli metafora identyfikująca i metafora predykacyjna potrzebują odmiennych podejść do rozwiązań zadań translatorskich.

No full textAs an outstanding expert on the history of Croatian-Polish cultural relations from the 20th century to the present – who consistently highlights and emphasizes theatre as their most important aspect – literary scholar and translator Leszek Małczak is undoubtedly particularly interested in dramatic and theatrical themes. This is confirmed by his works, in which he explores specific periods of theatrical connections and the reception of drama and theatre or analyses individual translations of Croatian dramas into Polish. Having achieved an impressive scientific output both in scope and significance, and having been continuously present in Croatian humanities for the past twenty years while actively participating in the most important theatre studies conferences in Croatia, the Polish Croatist has made a significant contribution to theatre studies through his scholarly work.Kao vrsnoga poznavatelja povijesti hrvatsko-poljskih kulturnih veza od 20. stoljeća pa sve do suvremenosti – a koji kontinuirano ističe i izdvaja kazališne veze kao najistaknutije – književnoga znanstvenika i prevoditelja Leszeka Małczaka nedvojbeno posebno zanimaju dramske i kazalište teme, što potvrđuju radovi u kojima zasebno istražuje određena razdoblja kazališnih veza i recepcije drame i kazališta ili pak analizira pojedine prijevode hrvatskih drama na poljski. Ostvarujući do danas i opsegom i važnošću zavidan znanstveni opus i već dvadeset godina kontinuirano prisutan u prostoru hrvatske humanistike, kontinuirano sudjelujući na najvažnijim teatrološkim znanstvenim skupovima u Hrvatskoj, poljski kroatist svojim znanstvenim radovima dao je važan doprinos i teatrologiji.Leszek Małczak, literaturoznawca i tłumacz ,wybitny znawca historii chorwacko-polskich relacji kulturalnych od XX wieku po współczesność, który konsekwentnie podkreśla i wskazuje na teatr jako ich najistotniejszy aspekt, w swoich badaniach niewątpliwie dużo uwagi poświęca chorwacko-polskim związkom teatralnym. How is the National Image Represented? A Multimodal Cognitive Perspective of EFL Textbooks in China
Get PDFCurrently, very few studies have discussed representations of a national image in textbooks of English as a foreign language (EFL) from the multimodal critical cognitive perspective. To address this issue, this study, based on conceptual blending theory, critical discourse analysis, and multimodality, aims to qualitatively examine the co-instantiation of texts, images, and tasks that represent the national image in two Chinese EFL textbook series, People’s Education Press (PEP) and Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press (FLTRP). The study explores the text-image-task semiotic relationship in constructing social-cultural meanings in textbooks. Content analysis of the selected textbooks suggests that the indexical relationship between the text, image, and task matters in the representation of the national image. The findings reveal how the text-image-task co-instantiation helps EFL learners develop cultural awareness of national image cognitively. The study makes comparisons between PEP and FLTRP and suggests that teachers’ pedagogical strategies, textbook design, and learners’ learning approach be improved in the development of cultural awareness
Who Cares If the Teacher Has a Cat? The Impact of Affect and Interaction upon Motivation in Online Portuguese L2 Classes during the COVID-19 Pandemic
Get PDFThis study examined the motivational impact of affect/interaction in emergency remote teaching (ERT) Portuguese L2 classes. Participants were two groups of students from 13 countries living in Portugal (N = 16). A mixed-method paradigm was adopted, consisting of a closed questionnaire, class observations, and semi-structured interviews. Results showed a generally positive impact of the practices adopted by both teachers. Comparatively, the group whose teacher evidenced a stronger affect-based strategy presented better results in measures related to motivation to learn Portuguese (MLP), perception of the teacher/classes (PTC), perception of individual capacities (PIC) and test anxiety, regardless of learners being more critical of the lack of socialization and reticent about sharing personal information. However, the group whose teacher favored interactive tasks showed greater engagement and enjoyment/flow. Statistical tests revealed a significant positive correlation between PTC and MLP, and a negative correlation between these two and test anxiety. It is proposed that the combination of affect and interaction can compensate for the demotivating effect of lack of face-to-face contact in ERT L2 classes
Analiza zmienności pojęcia jako perspektywa dla semantyki historycznej
Get PDFThe article is devoted to a semantic evolution of lexemes from the field of the concept of zabawa [play] in onomasiological approach. The aim is to present the project to create a model of the semantic evolution of words on the example of lexemes from this field. This will allow usto verify the validity of one of two theoretical views on the development of the meaning of words – about its regularity or chaotic nature. The subject of the study contains all lexemes from the field, unlike the current diachronic onomasiological analyses that deal only with the main representatives of the concept. The analysis requires taking into account etymologically different lexemes and carefully tracing the history of words throughout the history of the Polish language, according to changes in the cultural shape of the concept of zabawa. The syncretic method developed in Polish historical-linguistic studies will be used in the analysis, and the material basis is the corpus of texts from all periods of Polish language. The text is devoted to the project, so the conclusions are only anticipated, and, ultimately, it is to decide whether the semantic evolution of words is regular or chaotic.Artykuł poświęcony jest ewolucji semantycznej leksemów z pola pojęcia zabawa w ujęciu onomazjologicznym. Celem jest prezentacja projektu stworzenia modelu ewolucji semantycznej wyrazów na przykładzie leksemów z tego pola. Pozwoli to zweryfikować słuszność któregoś z dwóch teoretycznych poglądów na temat rozwoju znaczeniowego wyrazów – o jego regularności lub chaotyczności. Przedmiot badań stanowią wszystkie leksemy z pola w odróżnieniu od dotychczasowych diachronicznych analiz onomazjologicznych, które zajmują się tylko głównymi reprezentantami pojęcia. Analiza wymaga uwzględnienia różnych etymologicznie leksemów i dokładnego śledzenia losów wyrazów przez całą historię polszczyzny, odpowiednio do zmian kształtu kulturowego pojęcia zabawa. W analizie wykorzystana zostanie wypracowana w polskich badaniach historycznojęzykowych metoda synkretyczna, a podstawę materiałową stanowią korpusy tekstów wszystkich okresów rozwoju polszczyzny. Tekst poświęcony jest projektowi, więc wnioski są jedynie spodziewane, ostatecznie ma to być rozstrzygnięcie, czy ewolucja semantyczna wyrazów przebiega regularnie czy chaotycznie
