Using feed-forward perceptron Artificial Neural Network (ANN) model to determine the rolling force, power and slip of the tandem cold rolling
In this paper, an Artificial Neural Network (ANN) is used to investigate the influence of rolling parameters such as thickness reduction, inter-strand tension, rolling speed and friction on the rolling force, rolling power, and slip of tandem cold rolling. For this reason, the rolling power was derived for 195 various experiments through a series of observation tests. The network is trained and tested using real data collected from a practical tandem rolling line. The best topology of the ANN is determined by Broyden–Fletcher–Goldfarb–Shanno (BFGS) training algorithm and error, and nine neurons in the hidden layer had the best performance. The average of the training, testing, and validating correlation coefficients data sets are mentioned 0.947, 0.924, and 0.943, respectively. The obtained results show MSE value 4.2 × 10−4 for predicting slip. In addition, the effect of friction and angular velocity condition on the cold rolling critical slip phenomena are investigated. The results show that ANNs can accurately predict the cold rolling parameters considered in this study

Factorial analysis application to organizational public data for explaining the disclosure of environmental information
The articles objective is to analyze the dimensions of information disclosure related to corporate environmental sustainability. For this, public data from 100 Colombian companies were used, and an indicator was applied to assess environmental information disclosure. The study applied Principal Component Analysis (PCA), measures of central tendencies, and dispersion. It was designed as longitudinal research with a quantitative approach, explanatory scope, and non-experimental. The results prove the effectiveness of the PCA applied to public data, to address problems in the disclosure of environmental information at the organizational level. In parallel, it is evident that the dimension "Water" is the most relevant followed by the dimensions "Materials", "Emissions" and "Energy". These results allow us to conclude that the interested parties assign relevance in the same order they appear, which largely explains the disclosure of information related to organizational environmental sustainability
Adsorption of rare earth elements onto diatomite M45: experimental investigations and modeling with statistical physics theory
The separation of rare earth elements using diatomite M45 from aqueous solutions was studied. The experimental isotherms for the adsorption of trivalent lanthanum, cerium, and neodymium cations on this adsorbent were quantified under strongly acidic conditions (pH 2) at 298–328 K. The adsorption equilibria of these earth elements were analyzed using two statistical physics models (homogeneous and heterogeneous monolayer models). The results show that the adsorption of these ions implies a multi-ionic mechanism, which is exothermic. Si-containing functional groups are responsible for the adsorption of these rare-earth elements on the diatomite surface. A heterogeneous statistical physics model confirms that two Si-based functional groups participate in the separation of these cations. The calculated adsorption capacities at saturation follow the order: neodymium > cerium > lanthanum. Calculated interaction energies range from 28600 to 40100 J/mol, indicating physical adsorption on diatomite M45. This study demonstrates that diatomite M45 is a promising separation medium that can be used for the recovery of REEs dissolved in aqueous solutions via adsorption
Analysis of the geometry applied in the steering system of a formula-type single-seater vehicle
The ANGUILA F13 is a formula-type vehicle designed and built for the SENA ECO FORMULA competition. The objective of this research is to analyze the geometry applied to the steering system of vehicle ANGUILA F13 in order to know the characteristics and implementation of the system in the car. The method used for the design of the steering system had reference frame geometry, the rules of competition, the battle and track of the vehicle and the angle camber, caster and ackerman. In the results, the steering column to be fragmented into three parts provides greater security to the driver in case of frontal impact, the ackerman angle obtained allows the vehicle to have a smooth shift, total control of the vehicle when cornering and bonding gimbals makes it manageable direction. In conclusion, it was possible to obtain a good system performance and career management evidence taken in preventing the vehicle slipping when cornering
Energy conversion and beach protection: numerical assessment of a dual-purpose WEC farm
The installation of wave energy converter (WEC) arrays near the coast can have significant impacts on sediment dynamics and coastal morphodynamics. However, methodologies for quantifying these impacts and strategies to minimize them are still in need of development. In this study, we assessed the coastal response to a WEC array on the La Guajira coast in the Colombian Caribbean using a two-step numerical strategy. We used the Delft-3D model to estimate the wave field, which was then transferred to the XBeach model to compute morphological changes. This modelling strategy was applied to three WEC array layouts and compared the morphological responses in terms of the distance and relative orientation of the WEC array to the coast. The results showed that the impact of the simulated WEC array on the beach response varied significantly depending on its distance from the coast, the configuration of the array, and its orientation. These findings highlight the need for further research to develop effective strategies for minimizing coastal erosion impacts on coastal ecosystems through innovative alternatives. Developing such strategies will be crucial to ensure the sustainable implementation of WEC arrays and other renewable energy technologies near the coast

The objective of the research is to propose a sequence of pedagogical strategies of Philosophy for boys and girls with a differential approach to strengthen the school climate in elementary school students of the District Educational Institution La Libertad and the Carlos Meisel Educational Institution. The critical rationalist paradigm, the deductive rationalist epistemological approach, the mixed research approach (quantitative-qualitative) and the descriptive propositional type of research are adopted. The population is considered to be 250 children enrolled in the elementary school cycle in the two (2) educational institutions investigated, and 60 4th grade students are selected as a sample. Surveys for students and interviews for teachers were used to collect information. The IBM® SPSS® Statistics software was used for the analysis of the surveys, and the AtlasTi software was used for the analysis of the interviews. The results show the presence of groups of different ethnicities, gender, sexual orientation, culture, beliefs, traditions, behaviors, religion and disabilities, which motivate aggressive behavior, attitudes of exclusion, isolation, mistreatment and rejection. In order to promote a harmonious, productive, supportive, democratic, inclusive and equitable school climate with equal opportunities and respect for the rights of others, a pedagogical proposal of philosophy for children with a differential approach is designed, so that the child learns to think, reflect, discover, investigate, and respond to their concerns in a critical manner, in search of rational and harmonious alternatives to solve conflicts.
Prospective memory is the ability to remember to carry out intended actions and to evoke delayed intentions. It constitutes a crucial skill for the daily functioning of the elderly. It might also be prematurely compromised in neurodegenerative diseases. In the Latin American region, objective measures are not available for its assessment. The aim of this study is to explore prospective memory in patients diagnosed with Mild Cognitive Impairment. As specific aims, we intend to discriminate the performance on prospective memory between patients and healthy subjects and to study the internal consistency and inter-examiner reliability of the Mini Cóndor Test (a simplified version of a prospective memory test developed in Argentina). We carried out a comparative study including a group of 20 patients with Mild Cognitive Impairment and a group of 20 healthy subjects as control group. Results indicated significant statistically differences between groups in prospective memory performance in favor of the control group. The Mini Cóndor Test met adequate scores for internal consistency and inter-rater reliability. These preliminary results suggest that the Mini Cóndor Test has the potential to early detect cognitive impairment associated to neurodegenerative pathology.
Organizational management in coordinating postgraduate university programs
This research study characterizes organizational management when coordinating postgraduate university degrees in Zulia state (Venezuela). The applied methodology is quantitative, descriptive, non-experimental, transactional, and has a field design. The sample consists of 104 coordinators as observation units, surveyed with a questionnaire approved by 10 experts (reliability rtt =0.857; Alpha Cronbach method). The results show the concurrence of the organizational management indicators examined, revealing improvement actions that can be applied in the contexts of a sociopolitical crisis or a health emergency. The variable examined, organizational management, is described as organized and planned, with weaknesses in the "resources" dimension. This can affect the scope of goals, but it has a weak impact on conducting actions that aim to optimize administrative management. In conclusion, organizational management is affected by social, environmental, and economic factors, which notoriously influence the decisions and management styles of leaders
