The background of this study is presented in three sections: a) Motivation Theories and their relationship with brain structures, b) Psychometric studies of Primary Personality Factors (PPF) and c) The role of brain structures in the production of prosodic aspects of language. Its objective is to evaluate the combination of parameters and acoustic characteristics found in the speech of normal individuals (n = 23), previously grouped according to a psychometric study of their personality in order to sort out Primary Personality Factors (PPF) and improve our knowledge on Human Temperaments. Acoustic parameters under study were: fundamental frequency (F0), total maximum energy and total duration, normal constituents of prosodic information. A three-syllable same phrase was analyzed in all the cases. The subject´s emissions were registered on a Sony (WM – 6 × 320) recorder and the phrase studied for each individual (N = 22) was processed with the Anagraf speech acoustic analysis program. The acoustic characteristics more useful to discriminate between PPF groups are: a) F0 rank and b) energy differences between stressed syllables and those not stressed.
Agroclimatic and management factors affecting milk production in the municipality of Catatumbo, Zulia State, Venezuela
Introduction— Milk production is a basic trait in the efficiency of production systems and the best way to evaluate the productive behavior of the herd; this production is closely related to several factors, among which the breed stands out, feeding, environmental conditions, facilities, number of deliveries and, in general, the production system.
Objective— Describe the agro-climatic and management factors that affect milk production on a dual purpose cattle farm.
Methodology— The study was developed from the positivist paradigm with a quantitative approach, being descriptive research with nonexperimental and longitudinal field design. Records of milk production and agro-climatic factors were taken into account through the livestock software and the meteorological station, respectively, available on the farm, and a structured survey with 57 closed questions was considered to observe the management factors carried out.
Results— The highest records in temperature (38°C - 39°C) correspond in those where milk production is lower (between 13.181 l and 16.926 l). Simultaneously, the highest precipitation values are where milk production decreased significantly. In the production unit supplements are not provided to animals, they only perform rotating grazing, making a cut after this. The movement of the herd do it in all phases of the productive cycle of the animal; according to the weight of the same. Also, there is almost always rotation of staff, and the reasons would be inappropriate behaviors and other job offers towards the subordinates. On the other hand, the monthly milk production and the average production per lactation was between 64.29 l/month and 173 l/month; and 73.79 l/days of lactation and 209, 86 l/days of lactation, respectively. The mortality rate in calves was between 0% and 2.88%; and in adults from 0% to 1.29%. As for the weight of hatchlings and of weaned calves, the averages were between 26.27 kg and 35.97 kg; and 162 kg to 182 kg, equally; while the liters of milk per hectare were between 35.15 l/ha and 90.88 l/ha.
Conclusions— Of the agro-climatic factors evaluated, temperature is one of the most important factors affecting milk production; regarding management, supplementation in feeding as well as fertilizing pastures and increasing rest days are considered necessary practices of inclusion in farm management. It is also suggested to take into account within its management plan, practices to mitigate heat stress generated in animals and thus reduce the effect of this on milk production
MIGRAGINATION. Migration and marginalization in the production of space.
The objective of this article is to recognize-understand the production of space which is generated by the dynamics between the migratory phenomenon and the marginalizing condition, underpinned by a concept called "migragination". This formulation is of a humanistic nature, since it is based on the social infrastructure that human rights imply; as well as of a geographical nature, understanding that it is developed in territories that are the product of human activity on the planet. Consequently, it is spatial, since it is contingent on the experiences, perceptions and conceptions that condition the two previous ones, while at the same time it is part of them, since there are no social relations without space, just as there is no space without social relations. A multidisciplinary qualitative methodology has been applied, which allows us to argue that "migration" is the result of a system that oppresses a person or group during their migratory process, marginalizing them either by their profile or social function, at some point or permanently. Finally, we hope that the theoretical formulation that emerges from this article will be useful in the construction of a critical reading of the reality of a large part of Latin America and the planet
Fractal relationship, population density and human development in Latin America: Approach for sustainable urban planning
This study investigates the relationship between fractal dimension, population density and the Human Development Index (HDI) in Latin American countries. It uses the "FractalDT" software and satellite image data to calculate the fractal dimension of each country, thus assessing the complexity of its urban systems. The purpose is to understand how this complexity is related to human development and population density, analyzing the correlation through the Pearson coefficient. The results underline the diversity of urban structures in Latin America: countries with a greater fractal dimension tend to be more compact and organized, while those with a smaller fractal dimension show greater irregularity. This approach seeks to provide a comprehensive perspective of urban systems in the region and promote effective strategies for sustainable urban planning
Articulation of environmental education in the curricula of higher education institutions: a systematic review
The objective of this study was to characterize environmental education from the articulation in the curricula of Higher Education Institutions. For this, a qualitative descriptive systematic review was carried out. For the search, collection, and analysis of data, the Web of science database was taken into account as a specialized search engine, and 25 articles were chosen. The results produced make it evident that the way in which universities decide to face their responsibility for the achievement of the sustainable development goals may vary due to the autonomy that they have in the organization of their study plans, however, many are choosing for taking into account the transversality of environmental education in all professional fields considering comprehensive training and the role that each individual can play to achieve a sustainable and ecological country
Exploring the evolutionary disparities: A case study on the psychophysiological response to recreating the hunter–gatherer lifestyle through physical activity and caloric restriction
Physical activity has been instrumental in shaping the human body throughout evolution, but modern sedentary lifestyles and excessive caloric intake have contributed to chronic diseases. This study investigates the potential benefits of recreating the hunter–gatherer lifestyle, involving physical activity and caloric restriction on psychophysiological responses. The aim is to understand the evolutionary disparities between ancestral and modern lifestyles. Two male participants, one fasting and one control, were analyzed during a 4-day walking event without caloric consumption. Psychophysiological parameters such as body mass, cortical arousal, hand-grip strength, lower limb strength, heart rate variability, reaction time, hydration status, blood glucose and lactate levels, urine markers, sleep quality, pain perception, stress levels, and perceived exertion were measured. The fasting participant exhibited higher ratings of perceived exertion, stress, pain, and dehydration. They also experienced poorer sleep quality, higher Creatinkinase levels, greater protein presence in urine, decreased lower limb strength, significant weight loss, and increased lactate values. Heart rate variability did not differ significantly between the fasting and control participants. Recreating the hunter–gatherer lifestyle through physical activity and caloric restriction can have implications for enhancing performance and improving overall health. However, further research is needed to better understand the complex interplay of factors involved in the psychophysiological responses to such interventions
Boosted local dimensional mutation and all-dimensional neighborhood slime mould algorithm for feature selection
The slime mould algorithm (SMA) is a population-based optimization algorithm that mimics the foraging behavior of slime moulds with a simple structure and few hyperparameters. However, SMA has some limitations, such as getting trapped in local optima when dealing with multimodal or combinatorial functions. To overcome these limitations and improve the algorithm’s exploration and exploitation abilities, a local dimensional mutation strategy and an all-dimensional neighborhood search strategy for SMA, known as LASMA, were introduced. To evaluate the performance of LASMA, experiments were conducted on 30 benchmark functions from the CEC2014 competition, and the results were compared with up to 27 peers. The experimental results were then synthesized, and the Wilcoxon signed-rank test was used to evaluate the performance of LASMA. The results showed that LASMA outperformed other algorithms in terms of solution accuracy, stability, and convergence speed, with at least a 53.3% improvement in optimization performance on the 30 tested functions. Moreover, to demonstrate the applicability of LASMA to feature selection problems, a binary version of LASMA called bLASMA was developed and compared with eight binary classification algorithms on 18 datasets from the UCI repository. The experimental results showed that bLASMA not only had faster convergence speed and higher convergence accuracy in handling optimization problems but also performed well in feature selection applications. Thus, LASMA is a promising optimization tool for handling global and binary optimization problems, and its binary version, bLASMA, can be used for feature selection tasks. By addressing the limitations of SMA and improving the algorithm’s exploration and exploitation abilities, LASMA provides a robust and effective solution for various optimization problems
This research stems from the firm belief that all children can experience enjoyment while learning quality mathematics. The general objective was to propose a Sociocognitive model for the teaching of mathematics based on Neurodidactics to promote motivation in elementary students at the District Institute for Integral Development Nueva Granada of the city of Barranquilla. The methodology used focused on a mixed rationalist epistemological approach, following a qualitative-quantitative paradigm; the techniques of observation, interview, survey, and documentary review were developed. The target population was teachers, students, and parents of the institution. The initial results reveal the absence of a teaching model corresponding to disciplinary processes, the concern of families generated by the uncertainty in the accompaniment of their children and the demotivation of students. The results demonstrate the relevance of implementing the designed model, since it responds to the characteristics of the socio-cultural context, the quality goals of the Ministry of National Education and the recognition of the mediating role of teachers who support their practices in Neurodidactics. It is concluded that the levels of satisfaction and effort of the students are directly proportional to the pedagogical capacity of the teacher, and this can only emerge when the teacher is interested because his students learn, and students learn excited because they see the teacher’s interest.Magíster en EducaciónMaestrí
Compressive strength analysis of mortars with partial replacement of aggregate by Crushed Porcine Bone (CPB)
The field of construction is directly associated with environmental pollution due to the processes and materials used, including cement, which is the main component of mortar. Therefore, it is particularly important to find new construction materials that in addition to meeting the current regulatory requirements, contribute to sustainable development and circular economy. Based on this, the present research aims to analyze the compressive strength of mortars with partial replacement of the fine aggregate by crushed porcine bone (CPB) to assess the feasibility of their application in the construction sector. For this purpose, 162 mortar cubes were manufactured, with different substitution levels (2- 10%) tested at 7, 14, and 28 days. According to the results obtained, the highest compressive strength was found for the cubes with 2% CPB substitution and a lower strength for the cubes with 10% substitution, demonstrating an inversely proportional relationship between the percentage of fine aggregate substitution by CPB (replacement of 0 gr, 44 gr, 88 gr, 132 gr, 176 gr, and 220 gr for the 9 mortar cubes) and the compressive strength of the mortar. Likewise, it was possible to show that to prepare these mixtures, these required greater quantities of water compared to a conventional mortar, due to the greater absorption of the proposed replacement material. The objective of analyzing the behavior of porcine bone in cementitious mixtures is mainly due to the fact that this subject is scarce in the literature to date, which is why this type of research is important for the development of this new topic
