The History of the Development of Cattle Breeding among the Karakalpaks
Get PDFThe study is dedicated to the characteristic of development of traditional Karakalpak cattle breeding from the end of the XIX century up to present days. The influence of natural climatic conditions on the formation of the herd structure is noted. With regards to significancy, the first place was occupied by cattle, which, in addition to ensuring food security, was used in the economy as a draft force. The second place in importance in the Karakalpak economy belonged to sheep. The Karakalpaks bred camels and horses in small numbers. In the first third of the XX century, significant transformations took place in the traditional way of life of the people as a result of political and socio-economic reasons, which affected the cattle breeding of the Karakalpaks. During the XX century, the priorities in the composition of the herd did not change. In modern Karakalpakstan, the experience of traditional cattle breeding remains in demand

Teaching Qualification and Academic Performance of Primary School Children in Rivers State, Nigeria
Get PDFThis study used the ex-post-facto research design to examine the effect of teacher qualification on academic performance of primary school children in Rivers State. In doing this, it focused on 2 primary school subjects - English Language and Mathematics. Simple random and stratified sampling techniques were used to choose 498 Basic 4 pupils from 29 classes of 20 schools in 5 local government areas of Rivers state and their teachers. Two instruments were used to elicit data for the study. They were the English and Mathematics Competency Test (EMCT) which was used to elicit data on academic performance and the Teacher Qualification and Primary School Pupils’ Performance Questionnaire (TQPSPPQ) which was used to elicit data about the qualification of the teachers. The study had two research questions and one hypothesis. The research questions were answered with tables, charts, mean and standard deviation, while the hypothesis was tested with t-test at a significance level of 0.05. The result showed that there were only 4 teachers representing 14% were professionally qualified to teach primary school children. These teachers taught 75 children representing 15% of the pupils used for the study. There was no significant effect of teacher qualification on academic performance of Basic 4 pupils in primary schools in Rivers State
Classroom Variables and Learning Outcome Amongst Undergraduate Students of Education in Rivers State Universities
Get PDFThis study investigates classroom variables and learning outcome amongst undergraduate students of education in Rivers State Universities. Descriptive survey design was adopted in this study. Four research questions were formulated to guide the conduct of this study. Also, four corresponding null hypotheses were tested in the study. The population of the study comprised of all the 2016-2020 undergraduate students of education in Rivers State Universities estimated to be 24,781. Krejcie and Morgan (1970) statistical table was applied to select the sample of 261 public undergraduate students of education. A self-designed instrument titled: Classroom Variables Questionnaire and Learning Outcome Questionnaire”. Were used for data collection. The data collected were analyzed using Pearson’s Moment Product Correlations answer the research questions and test the null hypotheses. The results of the analysis of the hypotheses were tested for statistical significance at 0.05 alpha level. The findings of the study are: (1) Class size influences learning outcome among undergraduate student of education in Rivers State Universities. (2) There is a significant difference in the mean rating of male and female students on the influence of teacher-student relationship on learning outcome among undergraduate students of education in Rivers State Universities. (3) Teacher instructional delivery strategy influences learning outcome among undergraduate student of education in Rivers State Universities
