Cash Waqf in the Halal Blue Economy Sector: A Comparative Study of Indonesia and Malaysia
This study aims to investigate the potential and difficulties of using cash waqf-based sukuk in the growth of the halal industry in the maritime sectors of two nearby nations, Malaysia and Indonesia. Green and blue sukuk have been combined in both nations to aid in the government's endeavors to accomplish the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The main topics of this study's comparative analysis of the policies and strategies in both nations are the implementation mechanisms of cash waqf in supporting blue economy projects and the opportunities and problems encountered. Direct stakeholder observations, interviews, and focus groups in Malaysia and Indonesia provided the research data. Although each nation has a unique method of implementation and regulation, the research findings demonstrate parallels in using cash waqf for sustainable economic growth. Although the integration of green sukuk into blue sukuk has not yet been optimally implemented due to political and theological factors, two Muslim nations with the largest populations and the largest maritime territories have also become pioneers in using cash waqf among Muslim nations worldwide
Enhancing Entrepreneurship in Pesantren Through the Synergy of Islamic Education and Sharia Based Human Resource Management
Entrepreneurship education is a process of creating a product that has uniqueness or benefits by optimizing the resources used. Nowadays, the implementation of entrepreneurial values has been carried out by pesantren, which not only focuses on the social and educational pillars. On one hand, as an effort for pesantren individuals to continuously adapt to the challenges of the times related to education and entrepreneurship, optimal utilization and application of Islamic Human Resource Management (HRM) is required. This research aims to examine strategies to enhance the role of entrepreneurship education in pesantren. The study employs a qualitative approach, collecting data through interviews with 12 pesantren leaders and direct observations at pesantren in the Sukabumi and Cianjur regions. The data analysis technique used is the SWOT Matrix, analyzed thematically to develop appropriate strategic patterns. The results indicate that with the right strategy, pesantren can become a role model in the development of Islamic economic and financial sectors as well as the implementation of Islamic HRM. This aligns with the goals of education, which are to shape individuals who are not only intelligent but also independent, productive, and possess social and spiritual sensitivity, ultimately supporting the economic independence of pesantren and contributing to societ

Internalizing Wasatiyah Values in Islamic Education for Religious Moderation
This study explores the implementation of wasatiyah (Islamic moderation) principles within Islamic Religious Education (PAI) Indonesia. In response to rising religious intolerance among youth and the national imperative to promote social cohesion, this research examines how moderation is internalized through educational practices. Religious moderation is critical in multicultural societies, yet its implementation in Islamic education remains understudied. Utilizing a qualitative case study approach, data were collected via interviews, classroom observations, focus group discussions, and document analysis over one academic semester. Findings indicate that has systematically incorporated wasatiyah through interactive teaching methods, contextual discussions, and value-based modeling. Students demonstrated cognitive understanding, affective alignment, and behavioral expression of moderate Islamic values. The integration of Islamic educational philosophy, Bloom’s Taxonomy, and Bandura’s Social Learning Theory facilitated a comprehensive pedagogical framework. Key enabling factors included strong school leadership, teacher competence, and parental support, while challenges such as limited instructional time and digital radicalism persist. This research contributes a theoretical model and practical roadmap for embedding religious moderation into PAI curricula, offering replicable insights for similar educational contexts. The study affirms the transformative potential of wasatiyah-based education in fostering tolerant, reflective, and socially responsible Muslim youth
From Mimbar to Smartphone: Da'wah's Evolution for Generation Z in the Digital Era
This article examines the evolution of Da’wah practices among Generation Z in the digital era, with a focus on how social media platforms shape religious engagement and outreach. Strengthening Independent Character Education of Santri through Pesantrenpreneur in Islamic Boarding School
This research aims to analyze the process and the implications of strengthening the independence character education through pesantrenpreneur at the Fadhlul Fadhlan Islamic Boarding School in Semarang. This study used a qualitative approach with a phenomenological approach. The subjects of this study were a caregiver, three administrators, and five santri who participate in pesantrenpreneur. The data collection techniques used observation, interviews, and documentation, while the data analysis techniques used qualitative methods of the Creswell model. The study results show that the process of strengthening independence character education through pesantrenpreneur at the Fadhlul Fadhlan Islamic Boarding School is carried out continuously through three stages, namely providing understanding (moral knowing), instilling awareness (moral feeling), and providing examples or role models (moral action). Strengthening independence character education through pesantrenpreneur has given positive implications for the independence of santri who are increasingly strong, namely having a desire to develop, showing their activeness in taking the initiative and being able to overcome problems, being more confident and able to carry out tasks on their own, and starting to be aware of responsibility. This change is reflected in the emotional independence, values, and behavior of santri in everyday life, so that it can be used as provisions for future life. The importance of this research is relevant in an effort to answer the challenges of 21st-century education, where the educational process in Islamic boarding schools is required not only to be able to produce santri who are intelligent in religious knowledge, but also independent in personality
The Revitalization of Islamic Education in the Modern Era from the Perspective of Syekh Naquib Al-Attas
Islamic education in the modern era faces several critical challenges, including the secularization of knowledge, curriculum dichotomy, and the degradation of moral and spiritual values. These issues have undermined the philosophical foundations of Islamic education and weakened the integration between religious and secular sciences. This study aims to explore the thoughts of Syekh Muhammad Naquib Al-Attas on the revitalization of Islamic education by focusing on three key aspects: the foundational concept of Islamic education, the challenges it faces in the contemporary context, and the strategies for its revitalization. Using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method, 636 articles were initially identified through Google Scholar and Crossref using the Publish or Perish software. After applying strict inclusion criteria and using the PRISMA protocol, 24 peer-reviewed journal articles published between 2019 and 2025 were selected for thematic analysis. The findings are categorized into three major themes: (1) the concept of ta’dīb as a holistic educational framework that integrates intellect, ethics, and spirituality as the core of Islamic education; (2) contemporary challenges, including the fragmentation of knowledge, moral degradation, and the dominance of secular epistemologies; and (3) strategic responses such as the Islamization of knowledge, curriculum integration, and educational reform based on tawḥīd. The results affirm the relevance of Al-Attas’s educational philosophy as a comprehensive paradigm for shaping insān kāmil, a balanced human being, and for reforming Islamic education in a way that remains spiritually grounded while addressing modern demands

The Interpretation of Patterns and Symmetry in the Qur'an: Does Mathematics Serve as Proof of Divinity or Merely an Aesthetic Interpretation?
This study aims to explore the meaning of patterns and symmetry in the Qur’an and the role of mathematics in the context of divinity and aesthetics. Using a qualitative approach with a phenomenological study design, this research involves scholars of Qur’anic interpretation, religious educators, and mathematicians who understand the relationship between mathematics and religion. A total of nine participants were selected through purposive sampling based on specific criteria: (1) academic or professional background in Qur’anic exegesis, religious education, or mathematics, (2) engagement in interdisciplinary discourse between science and religion, and (3) willingness to participate in in-depth interviews. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and textual analysis of the Qur’an using an interpretative approach. The findings indicate that patterns and symmetry in the Qur’an serve as aesthetic elements and representations of the order in God’s creation. Most participants perceive this order as evidence of God’s power in creating the universe with mathematical laws humans can comprehend. However, some perspectives view patterns and symmetry primarily as aesthetic interpretations that enrich the spiritual experience of Muslims. Overall, this study opens opportunities for integrating the understanding of patterns and symmetry in the Qur’an with mathematics education, allowing science and religion to be comprehended as a harmonious unity
