ANALISIS RASIO KEUANGAN BANK ACEH SYARIAH DAN BANK SYARIAH INDONESIA
This study aims to analyse and compare the financial performance of Bank Aceh Syariah (BAS) and Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI). The two banks have different structural and operational characteristics, with BAS being the first regional bank to fully convert to the sharia system, while BSI is the largest sharia bank in Indonesia, resulting from the merger of three state-owned banks. This study employs a qualitative method with a comparative approach to four key financial ratios: non-performing financing (NPF), capital adequacy ratio (CAR), liquidity ratio (FDR), and return on equity (ROE). The results indicate that BSI generally outperforms BAS in terms of financial performance. BSI demonstrates lower financing risk, stronger capitalisation, healthy liquidity, and higher profitability. Meanwhile, BAS continues to show good stability and strategic relevance in Aceh's economic development. This comparison is expected to provide insights to stakeholders in evaluating the strengths and challenges of each bank in supporting the national sharia financial system
Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution in Medical Disputes Within Sharia-Compliant Hospitals: The Role of Good Faith in Balancing Patient Justice and Professional Protection
The expansion of Sharia-compliant hospitals in Indonesia requires a context-specific mechanism for resolving medical disputes. Law No. 17 of 2023 mandates Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), including arbitration, that aligns with Islamic legal principles—particularly good faith. This principle, rooted in sincerity, fairness, and respect, underpins Islamic jurisprudence and ensures ethical dispute resolution. This study proposes an ADR framework, specifically arbitration, for Sharia-compliant hospitals grounded in good-faith principles that safeguard patients’ rights while protecting healthcare professionals from unjust claims. Integrating values such as niyyah (sincere intent), ṣidq (honesty), adl (justice), huqūq (respect for rights), amānah (responsibility), and avoidance of ḍarar (harm) fosters trust, fairness, and accountability, thereby sustaining an ethical healthcare environment responsive to both patient welfare and practitioner integrity
Provision of Contraceptive Devices for School-Aged Children and Adolescents: a Comparison of Maqasid Al-Syariah and Positive Law
This study aims to examine the criticism of Maqashid al-Syariah and Positive Law against Article 103 paragraph 4 of Government Regulation No. 28 of 2024. This is a qualitative study. The research design is a literature review. The findings of this study indicate that the regulation on the provision of contraceptives for school-age children and adolescents without clearly specifying the qualifications of recipients is only applicable to those who are married. This is considered contrary to the Child Protection Law and Maqasid al-Syariah. Furthermore, the regulation on the provision of contraceptives for school-age children and adolescents is inconsistent with Article 534 of the Criminal Code, which promotes contraceptives, and Article 408 of Law No. 1 of 2023, which prohibits the promotion of contraceptives to children, with the threat of a criminal fine
Social Interventions in Education to Enhance Students’ Understanding of Juvenile Delinquency
This study aims to examine the influence of guidance and counselling programs on students' understanding of juvenile delinquency in a vocational high school in Bandung. Juvenile delinquency is a social problem that often arises in schools and can hinder the development of students' character. Guidance and counselling services are expected to act as preventive measures, increasing students' awareness and understanding of deviant behaviour and its negative consequences. This study used a quantitative, one-group pretest-posttest design with 329 students. The research instrument was a questionnaire designed to measure students' understanding of juvenile delinquency before and after receiving guidance and counselling services. Data analysis was carried out using a paired-samples t-test in SPSS version 25. The analysis showed a significant increase in students' understanding after participating in the guidance and counselling program, with a t-value of -39.85 and p = 0.000 (p < 0.05). These findings prove that the guidance and counselling program is effective in increasing students' awareness and understanding of various forms of juvenile delinquency and their impacts. Therefore, this study recommends strengthening the implementation of guidance and counselling programs as a preventive strategy to address deviant behaviour in schools
ANALISIS FAKTOR PENGETAHUAN, REPUTASI, LINGKUNGAN, DAN RELIGIUSITAS TERHADAP MINAT MENABUNG PADA SISWA SMK JURUSAN PERBANKAN SYARIAH
Although Indonesia has a predominantly Muslim population, the market share of Islamic banking in 2020 remained relatively modest at only 6.18%. One of the major challenges lies in the low savings interest among the younger generation. Previous studies have investigated the influence of knowledge, reputation, environment, and religiosity on saving behavior; however, the findings remain inconclusive, thereby creating a research gap that merits further exploration. The novelty of this study lies in its simultaneous examination of these four variables within the context of vocational high school students majoring in Sharia banking who have direct access to a school-based mini-bank facility, an environment that has rarely been addressed in prior research. Employing a quantitative approach, the study utilized a survey method with purposive sampling involving 139 students from SMK Negeri 1 Purwokerto. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using multiple linear regression, preceded by validity, reliability, and classical assumption tests. The findings reveal that knowledge exerts a significant negative effect on saving interest, while reputation, environment, and religiosity demonstrate significant positive effects. Collectively, these four variables significantly influence saving interest, with a coefficient of determination of 40.2%. This study highlights that Islamic banks may enhance their attractiveness to young customers by strengthening institutional reputation, fostering supportive environments, and reinforcing religious values. Nevertheless, positive perceptions of products and services should be complemented by improved financial knowledge to further optimize savings interest in Islamic bankin
Dinamika Perkembangan Remaja Akhir dan Implikasinya dalam Dunia Pendidikan Islam
Islamic education, as a system that integrates scientific and religious aspects, plays a strategic role in nurturing the younger generation. This study aims to understand the dynamics of late adolescent development and to identify its implications for Islamic education approaches in the school environment. The research was conducted at SMK NU Buay Madang using a qualitative approach through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that late adolescents face identity crises, the influence of social media, and complex moral dilemmas. Islamic education is therefore required to develop dialogical, contextual, and spiritual approaches to effectively support the process of personality and religious formation in students. This study recommends the importance of mentoring programs, moral reinforcement, and religious activities that are relevant to the realities of adolescents
Impact of Polygamy Practices in Urban Communities in Kramatjati, East Jakarta
This study explores the dynamics of polygamous practices in the urban community of Kramatjati, East Jakarta, by assessing the impact of official permits and unofficial permits on family relationships and household harmony. The background of this issue discusses the influence of polygamy permits on family life in urban contexts, as well as the various challenges and conflicts that arise as a result of the practice. This article answers this question using an in-depth interview method with seven couples who practice polygamy, whether they have an official permit or not. The theories applied include family communication theory and conflict management. Research findings show that although official permits provide legitimacy, the success of polygamy practices in creating family harmony is highly dependent on internal management and the quality of communication between family members. Couples who have official permission but do not manage the relationship well experience significant tension and conflict, while well-managed couples show relatively stable harmony. In conclusion, formal permits are not enough to guarantee the welfare of the family; Effective management and open communication are the keys to achieving prosperity in the practice of polygamy. However, this does not mean that the researcher supports the practice of polygamy, but rather reflects the reality that occurs in the field
Islamic Educational Values in the Marriage Traditions of the Javanese, Banjar, and Bugis Ethnic Groups in Indonesia: A Systematic Literature Review
This study aims to identify Islamic educational values within the marriage traditions of the Javanese, Banjar, and Bugis ethnic groups in Indonesia, which are rich in culture and local wisdom passed down through generations. A systematic literature review was conducted using accredited articles published between 2017 and 2023, collected from Google Scholar, Harzing's Publish or Perish, and Publish Media. The researchers initially gathered 20 articles, which were then analyzed and synthesized, resulting in 7 articles that met the criteria and were relevant to the research questions. Based on the analysis and literature review, several conclusions can be drawn. First, the marriage traditions of the Javanese (such as ngelamar, nontoni, menimbang, paningsetan, dhahar kembul, ngindek telur, wijik sekar setaman, kacar-kucur, baling bantal, tukar kembar mayang, and sungkeman), the Banjar (such as basasuluh, badatang, bapayuan, maantar patalian, bapingit, bakasai, batimung, bainai, and batamat Al-Qur’an), and the Bugis (such as mammanu-manu, massuro, mappasiarekeng, cemme passili, mappacci, mappenre botting, ijab kabul, mappasiluka, amrola, mammatoa, and marola wekke dua) are still practiced as a form of cultural and religious responsibility, though they are now often simplified to save time. Second, these marriage traditions reflect the internalization of Islamic educational values, including values of faith (iman), worship (ibadah), ethics (akhlak), and social responsibility. This study acknowledges its limitations in terms of the number of analyzed articles, especially those published in SINTA-accredited journals
Ethical Conflicts of The Accounting Profession in Practicing Islamic Work Ethics
The prior study explains that Islamic work ethics have many positive impacts, such as career satisfaction and organizational commitment. By contrast, based on cognitive dissonance theory, we assume that these effects cannot work properly in an environment that does not support workers to implement it, and this will lead to ethical conflicts and dilemmas. In this study, we wanted to find ethical conflict in accounting professionals who felt that their Islamic values at work conflicted with their duties. We examined 50 Muslim accountants in various regions in Indonesia by distributing an online questionnaire to them. Using the data obtained from the questionnaire, we tested the effect by regression. Nevertheless, before that, the testing process will be carried out by passing preliminary test series such as validity, reliability, classical assumption and correlation tests. The research findings state that the practice of Islamic work ethics significantly positively affects the ethical conflict perceived by accountants. It is identified that accountants who practice Islamic work ethics will inevitably feel ethical conflicts themselves due to the circumstances they feel in the workplace. This research can be a reference for Muslim accountants just starting their careers in mitigating and overcoming ethical conflicts in the new world of work. Companies can integrate work patterns with Islamic values and create reporting mechanisms to accommodate Islamic values. The director needs to be a moral compass for their employees
