Enhancing School Performance through Instructional Leadership: Insights from the Nominal Group Technique in the Malaysian Context

    Get PDF
This research examines methods to improve school performance in Malaysia through instructional leadership based on insights from educational leadership experts. Utilizing the Nominal Group Technique (NGT) via Google Meet, seven experts engaged in a systematic and democratic decision-making process. This approach ensured equitable participation, avoiding the dominance of individual opinions and premature focus on specific ideas. The experts identified nine crucial strategies for enhancing school performance through this process. The outcomes offer practical guidance for policymakers and educators, presenting a strategic framework to strengthen instructional leadership and ultimately improve school outcomes in Malaysia

Property Stigma and Overhang Units: SEM-PLS Analysis of Clio2 Residence, Putrajaya

    Get PDF
Property stigma encompasses characteristics, features, social values, or events related to land and buildings that generate negative perceptions of a property or neighborhood. This stigma significantly contributes to the overhang of residential units in Malaysia. This study aims to develop a Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (SEM-PLS) model to analyze the impact of stigmatized property dimensions on Clio2 Residence, an overhang strata residential scheme in Putrajaya. The findings indicate that both external and internal stigmas are significant factors leading to unsold property units in Clio2 Residence

"Alam Takambang Jadi Guru" Philosophy in Minang-Malay Vernacular Ornamentation Wisdom

    Get PDF
This study explores the traditional wisdom of the Minang-Malay community in the vernacular architecture of the Selemak tribe, focusing on the Lanjong House in Negeri Sembilan. Built 153 years ago, this house showcases unique architectural features and carvings, reflecting the cultural heritage of the Seri Lemak tribe, who migrated from West Sumatra to Malaysia 500 years ago. The research uses qualitative and quantitative methods to highlight the "Alam Takambang Jadi Guru" philosophy, where nature teaches humans to think creatively and integrate natural elements into architecture. The Lanjong House is a significant cultural artifact in Malay Nusantara

Carbon Footprint Review in Higher Learning Environment towards Campus Sustainability

    Get PDF
The greenhouse gas emissions on the campus are directly or indirectly caused by activities or accumulated over the life stages of the product or services, expressed by Carbon Dioxide. The six leading gases that contribute to the carbon emissions in the atmosphere are carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4), nitrous oxide (N2O), hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), perfluorocarbons (PFCs), and sulphur hexafluoride (SF). This paper aims to identify methods for evaluating the carbon footprint on the campus and its database and creates a theoretical framework for a sustainable campus in the local context of the higher learning environment of Malaysia

Measure up Your Commuting Experience With Public Transit in Klang Valley

    Get PDF
This research delves into the crucial components of public transport service quality with the aim of improving commuter preferences in Klang Valley, Malaysia. The study specifically delves into reliability, assurance, tangible aspects, and responsiveness as pivotal dimensions influencing customer satisfaction among urban residents in the Kuala Lumpur metropolitan region. Using quantitative methods, particularly multiple linear regression analysis and convenience sampling, the primary objective is to scrutinize the interrelationships among these dimensions and their collective impact on customer satisfaction. The research endeavours to obtain a representative sample size to offer valuable insights for targeted enhancements in the broader public transport system

Significance Study of Points and Line Constraints Adjustment for Static LIDAR Self-Calibration

    Get PDF
Ensuring high-quality 3D data from terrestrial laser scanners (TLSs) requires meticulous calibration. While the current implementation of TLS point-based self-calibration often relies on precision-based methods without reference points, this study introduces accuracy-based approaches to TLS self-calibration. Using point-based and line-based constraints with reference points established via close-range photogrammetry (CRP), statistical analyses reveal that the line-based method significantly enhances accuracy by up to 60%, outperforming the point-based approach, which shows notable deviations. The evaluation focused on calibration parameters (CPs), standard deviation, residuals, and correlation coefficient. This study underscores the potential of accuracy-based approaches in enhancing TLS self-calibration, particularly using line-based constraints

Comparing Socioeconomic Status (SES) and Acceptance of Fundraising Bifurcation Among Urban and Rural Communities

    Get PDF
Alike marketing practice, the success of fundraising drives correlates heavily with a mass public reception, making the stage of audience targeting immensely imperative. This quantitative research was aimed to uncover the relationship between an individual’s socioeconomic standpoint and their decision to engage with online fundraising movements. Collected through Google Form, the questionnaire was dispersed through emails, Facebook, and WhatsApp, consisting of 129 respondents. Through t-test and ANOVA analysis, the data showed that the socioeconomic of individuals in favor of the fundraising approach shift are females, live in the urban, never engaged with previous fundraising campaigns, are quadragenarian, and with financial freedom

Role of Community Participation in Achieving Low Carbon Lifestyles in Kuala Lumpur

    Get PDF
This paper examines community engagement in Kuala Lumpur's Low Carbon Lifestyle (LCL) programs, led by Local Agenda 21 Kuala Lumpur (LA21KL). It investigates how community participation can drive the city's goal to achieve zero carbon emissions by 2050. The study identifies three key themes based on qualitative research and in-depth interviews: empowering community participation, strengthening engagement in low programs, and green urban governance. This study emphasises the importance of raising awareness about the benefits of LCL programs to boost community involvement. Strategies like fostering local champions are essential for successfully implementing these initiatives

Spatial Identity in the Context of Interior and Building Environment

    Get PDF
The research paper explores the concept of "spatial identity" within an interior and building environment. It aims to determine how physical and psychological elements contribute to spatial identity in interior design and architecture. The study primarily uses literature review and synthesis, discussing on theories like place identity, sense of place, place attachment, and spatial experience. Key findings suggest that spatial identity is shaped by both physical attributes (such as form, materials, and layout) and psychological elements (like emotional ties and memories). The research concludes that a building’s design can offer meaningful spatial identity through thoughtful integration of these elements

Trends in Street Tree Species Selection: Developing a theoretical model

    Get PDF
This study develops a framework for urban tree species selection by analyzing trends in 45 recent articles (2019–2024) with keywords “street,” “tree species,” and “selection.” The thematic analysis identifies five themes: species diversity, ecosystem services, climate adaptability, public perception, and management challenges. Addressing gaps in current trends, this research integrates tree morphology in existing models and employs Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to validate criteria for resilience, social acceptance, and economic viability. The resulting model offers a flexible, context-sensitive approach to sustainable urban forestry, enhancing ecological and social benefits across diverse urban environments
