    Get PDF
This study explored the management practices of school heads in addressing the challenges encountered in English, Mathematics, and Science instruction in the Division of Surigao del Norte. Using a qualitative phenomenological research design, the study gathered data from fifteen school heads through Focus Group Discussion (FGD), In-Depth Interview (IDI), and Key Informant Interview (KII). Colaizzi’s method guided the thematic analysis, revealing five significant themes: (1) Strategic Leadership in Curriculum Implementation, (2) Resource Management and Optimization, (3) Instructional Support and Teacher Development, (4) Monitoring and Evaluation Mechanisms, and (5) Community Engagement and Collaboration. Findings showed that school heads demonstrated strategic and adaptive leadership by applying evidence-based decisions, strengthening partnerships, and fostering teacher professional development despite limited resources. The study concludes that effective school leadership depends on data-informed management, innovation, and participatory governance. It recommends continuous capacity-building for school heads, institutionalization of collaborative planning, and enhanced stakeholder participation to improve the quality of English, Mathematics, and Science education in public schools

The Mediating Role of Self- regulated Learning in the Relationship between Classroom Social Dynamics and Mathematical Disposition among Mathematics major Students

    No full text
This research looked into self-regulated learning as the mediating process in between mathematical disposition and classroom social dynamics for math majors. It utilized a quantitative, non-experimental design with descriptive, correlational, and mediation analyses. One of the stratified random sampling methods used proportionate allocation and Slovin's formula with 0.05 margin of error to produce 130 respondents who completed validated questionnaires for measuring classroom social dynamics, self-regulated learning, and mathematical disposition. The descriptive results revealed very high levels of self-regulated learning and classroom social dynamics and high levels of mathematical disposition. Correlational analysis revealed a moderate, significant positive correlation between classroom social dynamics and mathematical disposition. High positive correlations were also found between both self-regulated learning and mathematical disposition and classroom social dynamics. Most crucially, mediation analysis revealed that self-regulated learning partially mediates the relationship between classroom social life and mathematical disposition. That is, to isolate SRL as the primary conduit through which classroom social life is translated into mathematics dispositions among students. This finding meets the critical gap in the literature by both explaining how and why classroom social structures have positive mathematical dispositions. These results confirm the value of designing learning settings to deliberately integrate supportive peer discussion with explicit instruction in self-regulation approaches. This design has the potential to enhance motivation, engagement, and positive disposition toward mathematics and move beyond correlation to instructionally significant practice

Roberto Bolaño's Literary Cartography: Violence, Memory, and Transnational Spaces in "2666" and "The Savage Detectives"

    No full text
The Savage Detectives and 2666 by Roberto Bolaño build a transnational literary cartography that carefully studies violence, memory, and exile in international as well as Latin American settings. These novels represent such a “wild” literary space that is beyond national borders, inhabited instead by poet-wanderers treading landscapes of exile and violence. 2666’s vast, fractured narrative strategically represents suffering from a global perspective and elsewhere in its account of the femicide in the imaginary Santa Teresa, Mexico. Its violence, physical and symbolic, is knotted with historical trauma and memory, following Charles Tripp’s idea of violence as a producer of freedom, identity, and language. Bolaño’s work is colored by Giorgio Agamben’s formulation of destitute power, with his poet-protagonists debunking hegemonic stories and realizing radical ungovernability. From this perspective, Bolaño critiques nationalism, and positions his characters in in between spaces where identity politics, memory and globalization are questioned. His border-crossing poetics deconstruct text unpolitical borders, and participate in world literature theories on center-periphery relations. Bolaño is portrayed as a latecomer to the literary “Greenwich meridian,” and yet through his essentially marginal and global perspectives, he in turn has deeply recast this axis. Therein lies the importance of Bolaño’s literary cartography: the manner in which it confronts the normalized barbarism of our time and its rejection of historical oblivion. Residentially dislocated by military campaigns in his home country, M.'s own fragmented (fugal) storytelling of multiple voices and open-ended stories reiterates the ongoing Ness of trauma and the moral responsibility of witnessing. Bolaño’s fictions, in the end, demonstrate literature’s ability to “map” where violence, memory, and transnationality intersect, revealing important information about the global socio-political fabric of today. His work defies not just the conventions of the literary, but the very limitations of literature, and indeed the function of storytelling in a world ruled by globalized injustice

Explainable artificial-intelligence methods in decision support for delivery management

    Get PDF
The article presents an analysis of the application of explainable artificial intelligence (XAI) methods in supporting managerial decision-making for delivery management. The study is conducted within a theoretical and analytical framework, employing a targeted review of publications, a taxonomy of interpretable methods, and their alignment with typical delivery tasks. Particular attention is paid to the role of XAI in ensuring transparency, consistency, and resilience of decisions, as well as integrating ESG indicators and cyber-resilience criteria into planning and dispatching processes. Based on the analysis of scientific sources, approaches to interpreting forecasts and recommendations (post-hoc methods, built-in relevance mechanisms, neuro-symbolic models) are systematized, and their managerial effects and limitations are identified. Generalizing classifications are presented, including a map of XAI applications in logistics tasks, a summary of quantitative effects by key metrics, and a decision matrix linking approaches to managerial criteria. The challenges of XAI implementation are examined, including the complexity of interpreting deep models, the risk of oversimplified explanations, and the need to adapt algorithms to dynamic operational conditions. A structured model for integrating XAI into decision support system architectures is proposed, focusing on balancing accuracy, cost, and environmental performance. The article will be useful to specialists in logistics and supply chains, DSS developers, XAI researchers, and managers making decisions under high demands for transparency and delivery resilience

This qualitative research investigated the lived experiences of fourteen honor students who were working as language tutors in the Peer-Assisted Study Sessions (PASS) program. Through in-depth interviews and focus group discussions, thematic analysis uncovered three major categories: their experiences, coping mechanisms, and reflective insights. Participants described difficulties such as grammar accuracy, pronunciation, and linguistic complexity, while adopting strategies like media-assisted learning and contextualized teaching. Reflections indicated changes in teacher identity and enhanced learner diversity awareness. Peer tutoring in the study is concluded to promote both pedagogical development and professional growth, advocating for systematic training and mentorship in preparing future teachers
