She was also Miss 1966 Cover Girl for Pi Kappa Alpha at Memphis State University, Delta Sigma Pi Rose for CBC, Miss Sertoma, Fairest of the Fair, Miss Traffic Safety, Catfish Queen, and first alternate Miss Tennessee Universe. Due to Connie's marriage in 1967, Mimi Green took over the Homecoming Queen position and duties. Mimi Green was the Freshman-Sophomore Sweetheart from Siena College and a CBC cheerleader. Phyllis McLaurin, the Junior-Senior Sweetheart, was a student at Draughon’s business college
