The rocket, with a Belmont Rebel clinging to it, had a revolving nose cone. It won first place in the competition, although, alas, Belmont won the game, 88-86, with a come-from-behind score.
Belmont used the name Rebels until 1995

Brother Luke Maurelius Grande
No full textBrother Luke Maurelius Grande was Christian Brothers College's president in 1964 until 1970, after being in Memphis for around twenty years.
Brother Luke led several building projects at CBC including Rozier Hall, the Science Center, and Plough Library; and he started fundraising for a student center. Additionally, he presented St. Jude founder Danny Thomas with an honorary degree. During Brother Luke's tenure, summer school courses were revived and CBC became co-educational, both of which continued thereafter
