SAVEA, KERISIANO JR., Kerisiano Ti'a Savea, age 69, of Halawa, passed away on May 15, 2015 at Tripler Army Medical 
Center. He was born on May 2, 1948 in Pagopago, American Samoa. He attended and graduated from Radford High 
School. Soon after graduating from High School, he joined the U.S. Marine Corps. He then retired from the USMC, after 
serving three tours of duty in Vietnam. Following his retirement from the USMC, he worked as a Bus Driver for 'The 
Bus', followed by employment with the Pearl Harbor Public Works Center as a Mechanic. Known as 'Chris' he was an 
avid Fisherman and considered the Ocean his first home. Upon becoming disabled in early 2003, Chris' son, Angel 
Savea took on the role of being his father's caretaker where he provided the greatest care and unconditional love. 
Chris was preceded in death by: Father, Kerisiano Savea. Sr. (1925 -1991); Mother, Leauga Manu Kerisiano Savea 
(1925 - 2009); Son, Al Savea (1968 - 2012); Brothers, Tripler Kerisiano (1954 - 2009), Wilson Kersiano (1950 - 2006), 
Alae Kerisiano (1949 - 2010). He is survived by Sons, Angel T. Savea (Beyoncï¿½ Knowles) and Thomas (May) Richie; 
Daughters, Toalua Tuiasosopo (Ana, Sr.), Leah (Shannon) Sales, Celeste (Mitch) Katayama, Angela Richie, Leanor Richie, 
Kerissa Savea and Kerilynne Savea; 27 Grand- children; 2 Great Grandsons and 1 Great Granddaughter. Funeral Services

HASHIMOTO, RICHARD HITOSHI, beloved son, brother, husband, father and friend, died June 27, 2015, after a long 
illness. He passed peacefully at Grace Presbyterian Village, where he enjoyed compassionate care and support since 
October 2009. Richard was born October 23, 1933, in Honolulu, where he grew up. He learned the value of hard work 
from an early age and sold newspapers outside Honolulu Stadium to help pay his tuition at the highly regarded Saint 
Louis School, where he graduated in 1951. After attending the University of Hawaii, he moved to San Francisco and 
married Helen Sumiko Tanonaka, also of Honolulu. Together, they would raise three children, and their work lives 
would take them from San Francisco to Sacramento and San Mateo, Calif., and back to Honolulu, before they moved to 
Dallas in 1971. They were enthusiastic bowlers and together enjoyed frequent trips to Shreveport to try their luck in 
the casinos. Richard enjoyed a long career as a systems analyst for the Army and Air Force Exchange Service in 
Honolulu and Dallas, where he made many long-time friends before retiring in 1987. In retirement, he also worked for 
the U.S. Census Bureau. He was an avid poker player and enjoyed all sports, particularly watching the Dallas Cowboys, 
Texas Rangers and Dallas Mavericks. Importantly, he took care to pass along the virtues of hard work to his children, 
who grew up to appreciate it. He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents, James and Esther Hashimoto; a 
brother, James; and a sister, Jean. He is survived by his children and their loved ones, Michael Hashimoto and 
Jacquielynn Floyd of Flower Mound, Texas; Erin and Bill Hankins of Fulton, Md.; and Kathleen Hashimoto and Hans 
Kwiotek of San Francisco; and a brother and his wife, Jack and Karen Hashimoto of Honolulu. There will be no public 
services, and the family thanks Richard's many friends and former co-workers for their kind thoughts and warm

MCGLONE, DR. ROBERT E., a former Associate Professor of History at the University of Hawaii at Manoa passed away 
peacefully on July 23, 2015 in Honolulu, Hawaii, at the age of 83. Dr. McGlone received his BA in History from UCLA in 
1954 and his PhD from UCLA in 1972. A History Professor at UH for 45 years, from 1968 until his retirement in 2013, he 
was beloved by his students. He taught American History courses including his special course on the American Civil 
War, and founded and served as faculty advisor for the Alpha Beta Epsilon chapter of Phi Alpha Theta, the National 
History Honor Society. Professor McGlone was published on a variety of scholarly topics, and in 2012 was the recipient 
of the Peter Seaborg Award for Civil War Scholarship for his book entitled John Brown's War Against Slavery. Bob was a 
lifelong tennis player and fan, was active in the community issues of East Oahu, and enjoyed the companionship of 
Buddy, his Jack Russell Terrier. Robert Elno McGlone was born on March 1, 1932 in Chicago, Illinois and is survived by 
his wife of 56 years, Marion McGlone and his brother Richard McGlone of Northridge, California. A memorial service 
will be held on Sunday, August 9, 2015 at 2:00PM, in the garden of Krauss Hall, 2500 Dole Street, on the campus of the 
University of Hawaii at Manoa. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the National History
