    This video recording features a Prelecture-Musical program for the 28th Garnett-Nabrit lecture series. This video recording includes songs and hymns performed by American Baptist College staff, students, and faculty. The audio and video cuts in and out during acknowledgements starting at 01:48:00. At 01:52:00 the video transitions to a breakfast with opening remarks by American Baptist College President McGlothian followed by a plaque tribute to Rev. Samuel Hale, Jr. At 02:00:45, guest speaker Pearl Glory, Dean of the Methodist Extension Unit, speaks about “Praying in the Midst of Opposition,” in which she emphasizes giving God full control of our lives. At 02:30:30, the video transitions to a luncheon in which Dr. Julius Scruggs introduces guest speaker Rev. Dr. Vincent Leroy McCutcheon, pastor of Antioch Baptist Church in East Chicago. At 02:36:25, Dr. McCutcheon speaks about “biological contemplation” and encourages participants to find commonalities between one another to persevere in the midst of economic, political, and social storms

This scholarship is in honor of a former professor, Academic Dean, and pastor Rev. John F. Grimmett, to aid in the education of ministers. At 28:43, American Baptist College President Dr. Odell McGlothian shares his experiences with Rev. John F. Grimmett. This video recording continues with faculty, staff, and students honoring Rev. John F. Grimmett. At 01:29:02, Rev. Terry quotes Luke Chapter 2 and speaks about how Rev. John Frank Grimmett was a role model to him and encourages people to be role models to others.
