This makes it ever more urgent for theologians to explore the resources of art for enriching our understanding and experience of the Judeo-Christian tradition. Annunciations: Sacred Music for the twenty-First Century, edited by George Corbett, answers this need, evaluating the relationship between the sacred and the composition, performance, and appreciation of music.
Through the theme of ‘annunciations’, this volume interrogates how, when, why, through and to whom God communicates in the Old and New Testaments. In doing so, it tackles the intimate relationship between Scriptural reflection and musical practice in the past, its present condition, and what the future might hold.
Annunciations comprises three parts. Part I sets out flexible theological and compositional frameworks for a constructive relationship between the sacred and music. Part II presents the reflections of theologians and composers involved in collaborating on new pieces of sacred choral music, alongside the six new scores and links to the recordings. Part III considers the reality of programming and performing sacred works today.

Investigate the effect of hydrothermal temperature on the structure and characterization of 20 % ZnO-Cu2O nanocomposite
Get PDF7 p.The ZnO with 20 mol.% was hybridized with Cu2O to fabricate nanocomposites (20 % ZnO-Cu2O (ZC NCs)) were prepared by hydrothermal method at the investigated temperatures of (120, 200 and 250) ℃. The structural properties and characterization of the materials were investigated by physical measurements including: XRD, SEM, EDX and solid sample UV-Vis spectra. The results showed that the fabricated material samples consist of two crystalline phases (ZnO wurtzite and Cu2O octahedra) with calculated lattice parameters that were suitable for each type of crystal of the material. The average crystal sizes of the ZC120, ZC200 and ZC250 samples were (20.08, 20.36 and 22.50) nm respectively, which were grown lager when the hydrothermal temperature increase. The optical bandgap energy (Eg) of the ZC120, ZC200 and ZC250 material samples was determined to be (2.51, 2.52 and 2.56) eV, respectively. These Eg values of the fabricated ZC NCs samples were intermediate between the two types of ZnO (Eg 3.37 eV) and Cu2O (Eg 2.17 eV) materials, and was valid in the excitation region of visible light

Get PDF8 tr.Nghiên cứu dùng phương pháp sử dụng enzyme hỗ trợ quá trình chưng cất tinh dầu rễ cỏ Hương bài (Vetiveria zizanioides L.), khảo sát sự ảnh hưởng của các loại enzyme công nghiệp như cellulase, hemicellulase và viscozyme đến quá trình chưng cất tinh dầu. Từ đó đánh giá hiệu quả dựa trên hiệu suất chưng cất tinh dầu (% v/w) và thời gian chưng cất hết toàn bộ lượng tinh dầu có trong rễ cỏ Hương bài. Kết quả cho thấy tiền xử lí bằng viscozyme cho hiệu suất chưng cất tinh dầu đạt cao nhất là 1,3 % v/w sau 14 giờ chưng cất, giúp quá trình chưng cất giảm thời gian chiết xuất được 10 giờ và hiệu suất tăng 23 % so với mẫu không được tiền xử lí với enzyme. Nhằm nâng cao hiệu quả của việc sử dụng enzyme hỗ trợ quá trình chưng cất tinh dầu, tiếp tục khảo sát các điều kiện tối ưu khi tiền xử lí với viscozyme thông qua 4 yếu tố: thời gian ủ enzyme, nhiệt độ ủ, pH ủ và nồng độ enzyme (E/S) sử dụng. Dùng viscozyme để tiền xử lí bột rễ cỏ Hương bài (< 1 mm) cho hiệu suất chưng cất tinh dầu cao nhất là 1,3 % v/w với nồng độ enzyme (E/S) 2 % (w/w), ở nhiệt độ 50oC, pH = 5 trong 24 giờ

Get PDF5 tr.Nghiên cứu tiến hành nhằm sơ bộ thành phần hóa học thực vật, chiết xuất, phân tách các cao phân đoạn từ cây Bạch hoa xà thiệt thảo, khảo sát hoạt tính sinh học của các cao chiết bao gồm chống oxi hóa bằng phương pháp DPPH, kháng viêm in vitro, gây độc tế bào trên dòng tế bào ung thư người. Từ 3 kg Bạch hoa xà thiệt thảo khô được ngấm kiệt với cồn 70 %, cô giảm áp thu được 60 g cao toàn phần. Lắc phân bố cao lỏng thu được 30,1 g cao petroleum ether, 38,6 g cao chloroform, 20,4 g cao ethyl acetat. Các mẫu cao đều có khả năng chống oxi hóa và yếu hơn so với mẫu đối chứng dương acid ascorbic, trong đó cao E có hoạt tính mạnh nhất với giá trị IC50 là 30,52 µg/mL. Cao toàn phần có khả năng ức chế NO trên tế bào RAW264.7 tốt nhất (IC50 < 30 µg/mL) . Tuy nhiên các mẫu cao đều gây độc tế bào RAW264.7 mạnh. Thử nghiệm trên tế bào ung thư gan – HepG2 và ung thư phổi – A549 cho thấy cao chloroform có hoạt tính gây độc tế bào tốt nhất với giá trị IC50 lần lượt là (81,16 và 92,72) µg/mL. Kết quả chỉ ra các hoạt chất trong cây Bạch hoa xà thiệt thảo có tác dụng chống oxi hóa, kháng viêm, gây độc tế bào và là loại dược liệu có tiềm năng
