Automated Knowledge Graph Creation for Semantic Verification
Automated knowledge graph (KG) construction has become a critical approach for structuring complex, domain-specific information, particularly within technical and highstakes contexts. Despite recent advancements, current solutions often suffer from inaccurate triplet extraction, inadequate validation mechanisms, and a high degree of dependency on manual review
Equipping instructors to foster AI literacy in the higher education classroom. Preliminary results from a pilot project
The ever-growing number of new and constantly evolving AI-based (writing) tools poses a major challenge for university teaching, especially in writing classes. While students are increasingly exploring these tools without reflecting their use critically enough, many instructors are unsure how to approach these new tools in their own teaching and whether or how to integrate them into their courses. They are unfamiliar with many of the tools or feel overwhelmed by the abundance of options and the obvious or sometimes perceived expectation to integrate them into their teaching. As part of an award-winning pilot project, a platform was therefore developed to support instructors in teaching basic AI literacy skills, providing curated teaching materials and specially designed workshops. Survey results, ongoing subscriptions to the platform, and its partial integration into a new cross-university project all highlight the strong appreciation and continued relevance of these resources among instructors and higher education experts

Information Extraction from Financial Tables: Application and Evaluation of a Machine Learning Approach in Annual Reports
In recent years, specialized deep-learning models have demonstrated promising results in extracting table information from PDFs. In addition, multi-module solutions have been developed to process complex PDF documents and optimally align the extraction techniques to the different document components. Furthermore, Large Language Models (LLMs) have shown a comprehensive language understanding. However, the performance of these new possibilities has not yet been validated in an end-to-end process on a dataset of annual reports
Olfaktorische Spuren.
Empowering frontline workers through digital transformation processes adoption using cloud services with productivity tools
PostBus Ltd. is one of the largest passenger transportation companies in Switzerland, employing over 2.500 bus drivers who represent one type of their frontline workers. These bus drivers drive primarily and do not have much time to engage with the digital world. To keep pace with the digital transformation, PostBus Ltd. has given them payable iPads so that they can view their instructions and other operationally relevant documents digitally and at a reasonable size. A “Mobile Information Terminal” tool, which has been in use up to now, enables one-way communication and data storage. This has enabled partial integration of the bus drivers to date. Since Swiss Post, of which PostBus Ltd. is a part, has decided to use Microsoft 365 (M365) as its main cloud service medium, PostBus Ltd. can now fully integrate its drivers thanks to M365.
However, two questions arise: how can cloud services and productivity tools support the specific work requirements of bus drivers at Postbus Ltd. and how can PostBus Ltd. manage the digital transformation of their bus drivers
Vape redefined, the next generation of e-cigarettes. Branding development and go-to-market communications strategy
Avogen Tech SA, a Swiss startup, developed a patented water-based, ultrasonic vaping device that reduces health risks in comparison to conventional e-cigarettes. Despite the product being almost ready to get launched, the business lacked a well-defined brand identity and a go-to-market communication strategy appropriate for the heavily regulated e-cigarette industry
