SheBirths. Her Birth. Her Way

Was wäre, wenn … unveränderbare Architektur davonläuft?
Kleinbasel. Relationships between inter- and intra-individual emotions and learning outcomes of vocational students
Emotions are significant predictors of learning and academic achievement. However, much of the existing research has predominately focused on understanding inter-individual differences in students' emotions, overlooking the dynamic intra-individual processes that unfold over time. The present study aims to examine differences in inter- and intra-individual relationships of two learning emotions (enjoyment, boredom) and three facets of learning outcomes: concentration as a cognitive aspect of the learning process, learning time as a behavioral aspect, and learning satisfaction as an evaluative aspect. We collected weekly data of 119 vocational students over 14 weeks and used multilevel linear mixed effect models. Results revealed that inter-individual enjoyment positively predicted the three learning outcomes, while intra-individual enjoyment positively predicted concentration and learning time. Inter-individual boredom negatively predicted learning satisfaction, while intra-individual boredom was not a significant predictor. These results highlight the importance of enjoyment for the learning process and point to the more unclear role of boredom. Also, the findings emphasize the importance of differentiating between inter- and intra-individual relations
Historisches Lernen erforschen. (Wissenschafts-)Theoretische Grundlagen und empirische Fundierung
Contrary to the prevailing view of the supremacy of theory, the paper argues for a cyclic connection of theory and empiricism in the process of knowledge creation in the field of history didactics. We justify this view against the background of the activity theory of the cultural-historical school and show how we use our concept of narrative competence, existing approaches to historical thinking and learning, and empirical analyses from our research project “Research of Learning Processes in History” to substantiate historical thinking and learning in such a way that its understandings contribute to social orientation in relevant fields (e.g., research, history teaching). Finally, we discuss the opportunities and challenges of our approach and draw implications for the relationship between theoretical and empirical (as well as normative and pragmatic) knowledge production
Digital Trust by Design: Principles and Implementation Model for Data-Driven Enterprises
Data-driven enterprises (DDEs) depend on extensive data collection for their business models, yet face growing trust challenges. Current approaches remain reactive, treating digital trust (DT) as an afterthought through compliance initiatives or technical patches. Despite stringent regulations, organizations struggle with algorithmic opacity, complex multi-stakeholder data sharing, and cross-jurisdictional operations. This gap between legal compliance and genuine stakeholder trust leaves DDEs vulnerable to reputational risks and regulatory penalties while hindering collaborative innovation
