Vrstaisch¿ Redewendiga uf Obarsàxer Titsch
Im Rahmen meiner Bachelor-Arbeit habe ich ein visuelles und interaktives Kommunikationskonzept erstellt, das den Obersaxer Dialekt auf kreative Weise in den öffentlichen Raum und ins digitale Umfeld bringt. Ich habe dafür eine Serie von Plakaten gestaltet, die in Obersaxen platziert werden.Jedes Plakat zeigt eine typische Redewendung im Obersaxer Dialekt und enthält einen QR-Code. Beim Scannen dieses Codes gelangen Nutzer:innen auf eine Website, auf der die Bedeutung der Redewendung erklärt wird und die Aussprache angehört werden kann.Die Arbeit habe ich als Ausstellung vor Ort in Obersaxen präsentiert und zusätzlich als digitale Dokumentation aufbereitet.https://hdl.handle.net/20.500.11806/data/NextGen25-19ampwt
Visual analytics of nonverbal behavior to evaluate collaborative group engagement
Despite rapid advances in AI, computer vision, and the availability of off-the-shelf tools, analyzing and understanding the dynamics of nonverbal behavior (NVB) remains a significant challenge, especially in the analysis of collaborative group engagement. Research areas such as Social Signal Processing aim to leverage computational methods to automatically extract NVB from highvolume, multimodal video, audio, and language data, but with moderate success. These automated approaches rely heavily on large, high-quality training datasets and often face issues related to predicted constructs’ theoretical soundness and context-specific validity. A promising alternative is Visual Analytics (VA), which integrates human reasoning with computational methods for data interpretation. This poster explores a methodological approach using VA to extract and analyze NVB in collaborative learning. We employ state-of-the-art computer vision techniques to generate highresolution time series of facial, hand, and body landmarks from video recordings of small student groups collaboratively solving computer-based tasks. These landmarks are then processed into meaningful NVB signals and visualized to enable exploration and analysis. We also introduce visual-mapping strategies to address the challenges posed by high-dimensional data and the information loss introduced by aggregation. Finally, we demonstrate the potential and limitations of VA to support the analysis of both individual and dyadic NVB, highlighting temporal patterns in head movement and mutual orientation (facing direction) within small-group interactions

Exploring the perception, potentials, and barriers of AI-assisted services in Swiss health insurance companies: an expert and consumer interview study
The healthcare sector is one of the key areas where artificial intelligence (AI) is expected to be extensively utilized. Specifically, health insurance companies anticipate benefits from implementing and offering AI-assisted services. However, from the perspective of Swiss health insurance companies (SHIC), there is a lack of understanding how such services (e.g., chatbots, voicebots, apps) are perceived and accepted by customers. We conducted two qualitative studies interviewing experts (n=6) and customers of SHIC (n=12) to address this research gap. The analyses reveal four value propositions by AI-assisted services for SHIC. In addition, six factors impacting consumers’ intention to use AI-assisted services were identified. This article is an interweaving of situated dialogues, critical reflections, and expanded knowledges through the lenses of «not knowing in the presence of» (as per Marisol de la Cadena’s 2021 essay) gardens and chacras, and kitchens of steel and earth in Cusco, Peru, and Basel, Switzerland. Functional Porous Graphene Membranes: From Superhydrophobic to Slippery
A simple and efficient route to functionalize porous graphene is identified. The method enables the modification of porous graphene with varying surface properties ranging from lotus-like superhydrophobic surfaces to slippery surfaces. The method offers a route to superior membrane fabrication with versatile industrial applications. The findings clearly show the possibility of fabricating superhydrophobic surfaces with porous graphene as a base, which is relevant for oil-water separation and other membrane applications. The filament-like structures observed on the functionalized graphene mimic the properties of a lotus leaf. The measured water contact angle (WCA) of these modified surfaces reaches values as high as 160° with a contact angle hysteresis (CAH) below 10°, allowing for easy roll-off of water droplets. A Slippery behavior of the graphene surfaces is realized when the fibrillar structures on the graphene surfaces are infused with silicone oils. The work demonstrates the possibility of tuning the properties of graphene surfaces in a simple and efficient way and highlights possibly the first manufacturing method for graphene-based Slippery Liquid Infused Porous Surfaces (SLIPS)
