Differences in microclimate of paved and green areas
No full textRising temperatures in the urban environment due to climate change are leading to an increased interest in building materials and green infrastructure and their impact on the urban microcli mate. When considering green infrastructure often the soil moisture is neglected. This publication explores this issue by measuring the microclimate over a sealed surface and a lawn under different moisture conditions. The measurements are compared with simulations using the ENVImet software

No full textA percepção das águas a partir da crítica feminista nos leva a pensar recursos de produção cartográfica na experiência interdisciplinar entre artes visuais e geografia. Com a pandemia de Covid-19, uma nova percepção sobre a circulação ressurge: em como as águas fluem e nos conectam à revelia do confinamento, ou sobre o quê podemos controlar. Neste artigo, apresentamos uma reflexão sobre coletividades humanas e mais-que-humanas e a produção da cartografia crítica tendo como momento inicial a realidade global da pandemia de COVID-19 e, em seguida, abordando percepções de anos posteriores. Partilhamos a invenção de uma metodologia ou de um modo de pensar a cartografia que chamamos de “hidrocartografia” a partir de uma ética das águas bem como da percepção de nossos corpos como “corpos de água” (Neimanis, 2013).https://climacom.mudancasclimaticas.net.br/hidrocartografia
A-eye. Ein algorithmischer Blick auf den Menschen
No full textWie sehen wir und unser Umfeld in den Augen einer künstlichen Intelligenz aus? – Ausgangspunkt dieser Arbeit war eine intensive Studie zur KI-Bildgenerierung, bei der ich eigene Datensätze mit meinem Gesicht und Körper erstellte. Daraus entstand «A.Eye», eine interaktive Website, die Besucher:innen analysiert, beschreibt und in KI-generierte Bild- und Textwelten rund um die Welt versetzt. Eigene Workflows und Python-Skripte bilden das technische Rückgrat des Projekts. Um das Konzept konsequent umzusetzen, wurde auch das visuelle Erscheinungsbild der Website vollständig mit KI gestaltet. «A.Eye» macht den algorithmischen Blick auf den Menschen erlebbar und schafft gleichzeitig Bewusstsein für Bias sowie ethische Herausforderungen, die mit der Generierung durch künstliche Intelligenz verbunden sind.https://hdl.handle.net/20.500.11806/data/NextGen25-xivax4o
