No full textIn the history of residential care for school-age children in Switzerland, the image of the bourgeois family has a long tradition as a point of reference. Until now, little attention has been paid to the impact of social change on family and gender images in residential care. This article examines residential child care in the city of Zurich in the 1970s and 1980s, focusing on its administration and organization. The administration of homes staffed by married couples, “Heimleiterehepaare”, is examined in particular from a spatial sociological and gender-critical perspective. The analysis reveals that the enduring ideal of the bourgeois family, whose gender images decisively shaped the spaces of the children’s residential care homes. Dimensioning method for precharged membrane expansion vessels for pressure maintenance of hydronic systems
No full textEffective pressure maintenance is essential to ensure fault-free and energy-efficient operation of hydronic systems. Precharged membrane expansion vessels (MEV) are widely used for this purpose. A membrane within these MEVs separates the liquid connected to the circuit from the fixed amount of gas. Several standards provide dimensioning methods. However, these methods have two main disadvantages. First, pressure measurement uncertainties are not considered. Second, changes in the MEV temperature are neglected. The resulting uncertainties in dimensioning, commissioning, and maintenance can lead to malfunction and damage. Based on the extremal states of both the circuit and the MEV, an improved and generalized dimensioning method was derived. The change in the gas temperature within the MEV is accounted for. The measurement uncertainties of preset- and system pressure, as well as average MEV and circuit temperature, are considered. Furthermore, this method accounts for temporary process volumes that can occur, for example, during vacuum degassing or the stagnation of solar thermal circuits. By applying the new method, operational failures owing to incorrectly dimensioned MEVs, or faulty maintenance can be avoided. For simple commissioning and maintenance, corresponding software is provided as a free, open-source tool
Joga Bonito. Der schöne Spielraum Kaserne Basel
No full text«Joga Bonito» meint im Portugiesischen: das schöne Spiel. Vor allem im Fussball in Südamerika hat dieser Ausdruck eine grosse Bedeutung. Joga Bonito bedeutet, dass nicht nur das Resultat von Bedeutung ist, sondern die Art und Weise des Spieles im Vordergrund stehen soll. Mein Projekt «Joga Bonito» bringt die Leichtigkeit und das Schöne des Spielens auf das Areal der Kaserne Basel. Die riesige Betonfläche vor dem kHaus bekommt einen neuen Mantel. Der Boden wird von einer farbigen und weichen Fläche geschmückt und ladet so noch mehr zum Spielen ein. Inspiriert wird die Idee von bestehenden Bewegungsmöglichkeiten auf dem Areal: dem Boxclub Basel, dem Kulturzentrum Kaserne und den fussballspielenden Menschen auf dem Betonplatz. Ich ziehe Boxen, Ballett und Fussball aus dem bestehenden Areal und gebe den drei Disziplinen einen speziellen Stellenwert. Jeder Sportart wird ein temporärer Pavillon gewidmet. Diese werden zu speziellen Anlässen auf der neuen Fläche eingebettet und laden zu intensiverem Ausüben der jeweiligen Sportart ein. Durch diverse Linien und daraus entstehenden Formen entstehen neue Spielmöglichkeiten. Aus meiner Sicht als Fussballtrainer ist es mir ein Anliegen, dass «Joga Bonito» durch seine Gestaltung zu einem anregenden Element wird und Menschen zu neuen Bewegungen auffordert – vom Haken über die Arabesque zum Fallrückzieher.https://hdl.handle.net/20.500.11806/data/NextGen25-aj8cqb8

It is structured to reflect the unique needs of HEIs while aligning with globally recognised standards, including ISO/IEC 27001, the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISACA’s Digital Trust Ecosystem Framework, the World Economic Forum’s Digital Trust Principles and GDPR
