Šolski etimološki slovar slovenskega jezika 2021

    No full text
Šolski etimološki slovar slovenskega jezika 2021 ('The Learner's Etymological Dictionary of Slovene') is based on the need to provide younger users, who as yet lack sufficient linguistic and historical background to gain insight into the history and prehistory of the words they use on a daily basis. With this in mind, the etymological explanations are provided in a simplified manner without compromising scholarly veracity. The entry term is followed by an indication of whether the word is inherited or borrowed. If the word is inherited and arose within the Slovene language, the explanation continues with its word-formation history, followed by its etymological meaning. If a word arose during the Proto-Slavic periods, the explanation provides related words from a selection of Slavic languages and a Proto-Slavic reconstruction, followed by an etymological explanation. If a word is older, the Proto-Slavic reconstruction is followed by material from other Indo-European languages, the presentation of its original form or at least the root and related words, followed by an etymological explanation and, if possible, the original meaning. If a word is borrowed, its foreign source is presented, followed by its etymological explanation.Šolski etimološki slovar slovenskega jezika 2021 je zasnovan na potrebi, da tudi mladostniki s še ne zadostnim jezikoslovnim in zgodovinskim znanjem dobijo vpogled v zgodovino in predzgodovino besed, ki jih vsakodnevno uporabljajo.

Glasovne in naglasne značilnosti terskega narečja

    No full text
The book features an areal study of phonetic and accentual features of the Tersko dialect of Slovene, spoken in the western part of the region Beneška Slovenija/Slavia Veneta. The rich dialect data of the hitherto understudied dialect includes words of many parts-of-speech and inflectional paradigms, gathered via field research during the years 2014–2018 in ten localities: Ter/Pradielis, Zavarh/Villanova delle Grotte, Viškorša/Monteaperta, Tipana/Taipana, Plestišča/Platischis, Porčinj/Porzus, Prosnid/Prossenicco, Čanebola/Canebola, Mažerole/Masarolis and Breginj. Through analysis of the dialect material, the author delivers an interpretation of the development of phonetic and accentual features in the studied dialectal idioms from Common Slovene to their contemporary states and identifies the features relevant for an internal differentiation of the dialect. &nbsp

Spodbujanje razvoja obmejnih problemskih območij v Sloveniji

Because of their proximity to the border and their peripheral character compared to the rest of a country’s territory, border areas are often poorly developed (title: 'Promoting the development of disadvantaged border areas in Slovenia'). Therefore, regional policy pays special attention to them. In Slovenia, this has been the case since 1975, with ninety municipalities currently designated as disadvantaged border areas. To facilitate their comprehensive development, the Slovenian government set up a program to promote their development that will connect and harmonize the efforts of all ministries in developing these areas. Designing this program relied on past experience in promoting poorly developed areas and, to make the program as comprehensive as possible, the following aspects were addressed: quality of living, economic development, access to services of general and economic interest, demographic changes, sustainable development and mobility, cross-border cooperation, and an overall developmental or systemic framework to promote the development of individual areas. The basic aim was to establish how to comprehensively promote border area development. To adapt the system for promoting border area development to the needs of individual municipalities as much as possible, a typology of these areas was first produced, which made it possible to compare them against one another and, most importantly, against other Slovenian municipalities. Second, questionnaires were produced for representatives of the municipalities and representatives of the border areas’ residents. Based on the respondents’ feedback, thematic categories were defined in detail and examined through an indicator analysis. Finally, a selection was made, along with detailed descriptions, of measures that either together or individually could help improve the situation in disadvantaged border areas.Obmejna območja so zaradi bližine državne meje in zaradi perifernosti v primerjavi s preostalim državnim ozemljem pogosto manj razvita. &nbsp

The publication is distinguished by a multidisciplinary treatment of the topics and is intended for both the lay and the professional public. The publication highlights current public health selected topics - from new estimates of the prevalence of dementia at national level and new projections of dementia cases among the population of Slovenia in the future, characteristics of knowledge of dementia among the general public and long-term care of people with dementia (from research into needs to development of services), the economic burden of dementia in Slovenia according to routine health care databases, dynamics of neuropsychiatric symptoms in people with dementia associated with pandemic and covid-19, characteristics of long-term covid-19/postcovidal syndrome and cognitive impairment, mental health of informal family carers of people with dementia during stress and stress-coping strategies, mental health and interventions, the burdens of informal family carers of people with dementia during covid-19 to falls in the elderly and the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. The World Health Organization has declared dementia for public health priority of the 21st century before the emergence of the SARS-CoV-2/COVID 19 pandemic, which affected the elderly population the most. Dementia is a disease that affects the individual, his relatives, caregivers and wider society. A person with dementia is increasingly dependent on the help of others over time, so dementia increases the health, economic, emotional, psychological and physical burden on the person with dementia and his caregivers. This year's multi-authors monograph of scientific papers represents a logical continuation of the scientific monograph entitled Spremljanje demence v Sloveniji. Epidemiološki in drugi vidiki ('Monitoring dementia in Slovenia: Epidemiological and other aspects').Publikacijo odlikuje večdisciplinarna obravnava tematik in je namenjena tako laični kakor strokovni javnosti. Tokratna večavtorska monografija znanstvenih prispevkov predstavlja logično nadaljevanje znanstvene monografije z naslovom Spremljanje demence v Sloveniji: Epidemiološki in drugi vidiki

The main purpose of this book is to show that waste does not disappear when we throw it away, but accumulates at an amazing rate, taking up more and more space on our planet. The authors, renowned experts in the fields of anthropology, ethnology and geography, describe local habits related to waste and present waste as an important factor in the global production and consumption network. Anyone reading the book will find it hard to ignore the pile of waste we are trying to sweep under the carpet.

Kje smo?

    No full text
This booklet interprets the Covid regime as the mode of production of a radical social and political change and analyzes some of its key traits. The »Covid regime« is a system of measures for the management of the Covid-19 epidemics. The declared aim of those measures was to protect us from the infection with the virus and to stop its spread. Their strict implementation was supposed to bring us back to »normal life«. The success of the measures, however, has been questionable, and a return to the »old normal« is almost certainly out of the question. The Covid regime is radically transforming society. The measures against Covid hurt society more than the illness the virus causes. Covid regime is a greater threat than the virus itself. The social change carried out through the Covid regime is not only transforming this or that social subsystem, relations among them, and our position within society.
