Šest osemglasnih motetov / Six Eight-Part Motets

    No full text
This volume features six double-choir motets attributed to Iacobus Handl-Gallus that circulated exclusively in manuscript form during the 16th and 17th centuries. These compositions were never published, either during the composer's lifetime or posthumously, and have survived solely in manuscript sources now housed in various libraries and music archives across Europe. Presented here for the first time in a modern critical edition, these motets are accompanied by a detailed introduction and critical commentary. The introduction explores the complex issues surrounding the transmission of the works, including the origins and historical context of the manuscripts. The critical reports provide an in-depth analysis of the philological challenges posed by the sources.V zvezku je predstavljenih šest osemglasnih motetov, ki jih glasbeni rokopisi iz 16. in 17. stoletja pripisujejo Iacobusu Handlu - Gallusu. Moteti so prvič predstavljeni v sodobni kritični izdaji in so opremljeni z obširnim uvodom in kritičnim komentarjem. Spremna besedila obravnavajo vprašanja avtorstva, avtentičnosti in ohranjenosti del ter izvor in zgodovinsko ozadje glasbenih rokopisov. Kritična poročila vsebujejo poglobljeno analizo filoloških izzivov, ki jih predstavljajo viri

    Grad Rihemberk. Prva knjiga

    No full text
This interdisciplinary monograph presents Rihemberk Castle as one of the most important and striking castle architectures in the northern Primorska region and beyond. It provides information on the first settlement of the area in the Late Bronze Age and discusses the historical circumstances of the castle's construction in the Middle Ages under the first owners, the Lords of Reifenberg. Most of the contributions deal with the Lanthieri (after 1910 Levetzow-Lantieri) family, which, as owners of the castle in the modern period until 1947, had a significant influence not only on the development of the castle and its furnishings, but also on the life of Branik and the wider Gorizia region. The most important historical events connected with the castle, the artistic and cultural life of the castle, the involvement of its former inhabitants in the local community, its historical memory and the efforts to renovate and revive the castle, including its current winged inhabitants - the bats - are presented in detail. The in-depth contributions are also enriched by high-quality pictorial material, much of it from foreign and private archives.

Iacobus Gallus: Selectiores quaedam missae, Liber IV

From the very beginning, one of the most important and ambitious goals of the MAMS collection has been publication of the collected works of Iacobus Handl-Gallus in a modern transcription tailored to the needs of contemporary performers. After the publication of his famous collection of motets, Opus musicum, in thirteen volumes (1985–1990), Edo Škulj edited a four-volume edition of Gallus’s masses in 1991. The edition is enriched by facsimiles from Gallus’s original collection, Selectiores quaedam missae, published in 1580 by the Prague printer Georg Nigrin (Jiří Černý). Gallus divided his Missarum into four books. The fourth book (Liber IV) contains four 4-part settings of the Mass Ordinary. With the last Mass, the composer also offers the possibility of a performance in eight voices. The 2025 digitized post-edition is accompanied by a new preface and an introductory study by Dr Marc Desmet that summarizes and compiles all recent findings about the composer and his work.

Slovar slovenskega knjižnega jezika 2024 ('Dictionary of the Slovenian Standard Language 2024') contains a modern linguistic description of the multifaceted and complex linguistic reality of the Slovenian language based on language use as reflected in diverse language resources, primarily corpora. A total of 384 dictionary entries introduced by single-word headwords offers a wholesome and systematic description of semantic, grammatical, pragmatic and other characteristics of single-word and multi-word phraseological and non-phraseological lexical units. The concept of the dictionary is described in detail in Koncept novega razlagalnega slovarja slovenskega knjižnega jezika (Concept of the New Explanatory Dictionairy of the Slovenian Standard Language), ratified in 2015 by the Scientific Council of the Fran Ramovš Institute of the Slovenian Language ZRC SAZU, the Scientific Council of ZRC SAZU, the Section of Philological and Literary Sciences of SAZU and the Presidency of SAZU.Slovar slovenskega knjižnega jezika 2024 prinaša sodoben jezikovni opis izseka večplastne in kompleksne jezikovne realnosti slovenskega jezika glede na jezikovno rabo, izkazano v raznovrstnih sodobnih, predvsem korpusnih, gradivskih virih. V okviru 384 slovarskih sestavkov, ki jih na makrostrukturni ravni uvaja enobesedna iztočnica, so celovito in sistematično opisane pomenske, slovnične, pragmatične in druge lastnosti eno- in večbesednih nefrazeoloških in frazeoloških leksikalnih enot. Slovarska zasnova je natančneje prikazana v Konceptu novega razlagalnega slovarja slovenskega knjižnega jezika, ki so ga leta 2015 potrdili in sprejeli Znanstveni svet Inštituta za slovenski jezik Frana Ramovša ZRC SAZU, Znanstveni svet ZRC SAZU, Razred za filološke in literarne vede SAZU in Predsedstvo SAZU

Urejanje prihodnosti. Družbena odgovornost in tržno-planska (plansko-tržna) ekonomija

    No full text
In his book Urejanje prihodnosti ('Shaping the Future'), Viktor Žakelj addresses central questions of our time in a series of analytical and reflective essays: how can the gap between the logic of the market and the need for a collective, planned world order be bridged, how can freedom and responsibility be reconciled and how can the role of the individual be understood in a time of systemic crises? He examines the ideological foundations of contemporary capitalism, particularly neoliberalism, which he argues dissolves social bonds, undermines solidarity and encourages passive consumption. The essays also deal with the right of veto, the social power of knowledge, the mythology of political realism, the problem of the limits to growth and the role of ethics in the economy. The author draws attention to the exploitation of nature, people and meaning in today's society and calls for an eco-social transformation based on justice, the common good and respect for intergenerational obligations. This is a weighty yet accessible text that encourages reflection and active civic participation.V knjigi Urejanje prihodnosti Viktor Žakelj skozi niz analitičnih in refleksivnih esejev obravnava ključna vprašanja našega časa: kako premostiti razkorak med tržno logiko in potrebo po kolektivnem, planskem urejanju sveta, kako osmisliti svobodo v razmerju do odgovornosti in kako razumeti vlogo posameznika v dobi sistemskih kriz.

The monograph Animals in Focus brings together researchers from different fields of science and offers a multidisciplinary set of views on the animal who is not on the fringes of our perspectives but has become their centre or focus. The move to the centre can be diverse, though, as the articles are based on philosophy, literary studies, comparative studies, zoofolkloristics, anthropology, art history, critical animal studies, critical animal pedagogies and conservation biology. They all proceed, however, from a common starting point, i.e., thinking of animals in a different way, by rejecting the anthropocentric and speciesist view of animals, and placing their lives in the research and emotive focus. The aim is not to avert our intention from the animal that catches our gaze, whatever the mode of gaze it is; to really see the animal and not deny its existence, suffering and abuse. The monograph discusses the determination of species, although it is clear that species exist only in the sense of taxonomy and not philosophy because merely physical presentation does not form a sentient being; differences in the corporeal do not mean that human presentation is more valuable than the animal’s but, as the dominant species, the former has been merely given a higher social and political value.
