Iacobus Gallus: Opus musicum II/1. De passione Domini nostri Iesu Christi

    No full text
From the very beginning, one of the most important and ambitious goals of the MAMS collection has been publication of the collected works of Iacobus Handl-Gallus in a modern transcription tailored to the needs of contemporary performers. The publication of his famous collection of motets, Opus musicum, consisting of four books containing a total of 374 motets, partially achieved this goal in 1990. The transcriptions and critical commentaries were prepared by Edo Škulj, and Gallus’s motets were published in thirteen volumes between 1985 and 1990. The edition is enriched by numerous facsimiles from Gallus’s original prints, published between 1586 and 1590 by the Prague printer Georg Nigrin (Jiří Černý). Gallus divided the second book of his Opus musicum (1587) into four sections, which have been retained in the MAMS edition. The first volume (II/1) consists of 4-, 5-, 6- and 8-part motets for the liturgy of Holy Week. The volume also contains three polyphonic settings of the Passions, two based on the Gospel of John and one on the Gospel of Matthew. The 2024 digitized post-edition is accompanied by a new preface and an introductory study by Dr Marc Desmet that summarizes and compiles all recent findings about the composer and his work.

Gallus assigned the fourth book of his Opus musicum (1590) to feasts of the Virgin Mary, the Apostles, the Martyrs, the Witnesses and the Holy Virgins. Gallus arranged the motets not according to the chronological order of the church year, but according to the number of voices. The first volume (IV/1) consists of 8-part motets for the feasts of Mary and the Saints. The 2024 digitized post-edition is accompanied by a new preface and an introductory study by Dr Marc Desmet that summarizes and compiles all recent findings about the composer and his work. This volume contains the final selection of papers presented at the 32nd Symposium of the ICTM Study Group on Ethnochoreology, the leading conference series in the field of ethnochoreology, dance anthropology and related disciplines, held in Brežice, Slovenia, from 25 July to 5 August 2022. The papers presented at the Symposium and included in the Proceedings address two key themes: reconsidering knowledge production in dance research; and inclusion/exclusion in dance communities. Additionally, a separate section is dedicated to posters presented at the Symposium, while an appendix offers insights into the event's embodied experience, even though the event was experienced by some only online. This volume comprises 49 contributions from 53 authors and is issued by the International Council for Traditions of Music and Dance (ICTMD) and the Institute of Ethnomusicology Research Centre of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts (ZRC SAZU).Zbornik ('Ponovni premislek o ustvarjanju znanja in vključevanje/izključevanje v plesnih skupnostih, Zbornik 32. Prispevki, predstavljeni na simpoziju in vključeni v zbornik, obravnavajo dve ključni temi: ponovni premislek o ustvarjanju znanja v raziskavah plesa in vključevanje/izključevanje v plesnih skupnostih.

Settlement of the Eastern Alps in the Early Middle Ages

    No full text
A book is an edited volume with eight authors contributing nine chapters in total, each covering different aspects of the subject. It is the culmination of extensive research endeavours into the Early Medieval archaeology of the Eastern Alps, synthesising the collaborative efforts of four research projects with scholars from two countries over several years. The focus is on an area on the eastern fringes of the Alps, which lies in present-day Slovenia and parts of Austria. The three micro-regional studies are located near Bled (Slovenia), in the Drava Plain (Slovenia) and in the Leibnitzer Feld (Austria). The case study chapters focus on Upper Styria, also known as Austrian Styria. Thematically, the book is divided into three parts. While the length of individual chapters varies, the three parts are as balanced as possible given the subject matter. The first part consists of a relevant methodological introduction followed by three microregional studies and a chapter that looks for common features of these studies and builds on the results. The second part consists of an extensive contribution by a single author who analyses the Eastern Alps as an archaeological region, again with the methodological introduction. The third part presents an extremely detailed analysis of Austrian Styria in Late Antiquity and Early Medieval period. We are confident that the content of the book promises to be an indispensable resource for scholars and enthusiasts alike, offering fresh perspectives on the Early Medieval period through a blend of archaeological evidence and environmental analysis.V knjigi (Poselitev Vzhodnih Alp v zgodnjem srednjem veku) osem avtorjev v devetih poglavjih pokriva različne vidike téme. Tretji del predstavlja podrobno analizo avstrijske Štajerske v pozni antiki in zgodnjem srednjem veku. Verjamemo, da vsebina knjige obeta, da bo postala nepogrešljiv vir za znanstvenike in navdušence, saj ponuja sveže poglede na zgodnji srednji vek skozi preplet arheoloških dokazov in analize okolja. Studio et labore, arte et humanitate. Jubilejni zbornik za Marjeto Ciglenečki

    No full text
This Festschrift includes four commemorative essays, twenty-two scholarly contributions as well as an extensive bibliography of the art historian Dr Marjeta Ciglenečki’s work. In celebration of the seventieth birthday of a respected colleague, whose work spans the fields of university education, scientific research, museology and heritage preservation, her former collaborators, colleagues and students have contributed papers which range chronologically from antiquity to the present day. These contributions also cover all artistic disciplines and address every aspect of art historical work. The diversity of the contributions reflects the breadth of Dr Ciglenečki’s oeuvre, as many of them focus on topics that Marjeta Ciglenečki herself has explored or deal with the region of Ptuj, Maribor and Styria more generally, where she has conducted extensive research and made a particularly significant contribution to scholarship. The contributions are thus intended for a wide range of scholars and professionals – art historians, museum professionals, conservators, architects, historians, cultural historians, ethnologists, and theologians – though, at the same time, many of the topics discussed will undoubtedly also appeal to a broader readership.

    Alpine Textile Heritage. An Overview

    No full text
Alpine Textile Heritage: An Overview is a comprehensive exploration of the rich textile history, traditions, and innovations in the Alpine region, addressing the fragmented knowledge across local, regional, and national levels. Published by ZRC SAZU in collaboration with partners of Intrreg Alpine Space project AlpTextyles, the book offers a historical overview of the development of the textile industry, from prehistory to the present day. It also examines the production and use of wool, linen, and silk, highlighting traditional practices, contemporary applications, and the living intangible cultural heritage associated with textile production. By exploring aesthetics, costume heritage, and resource-sensitive traditions, it reveals how these elements can inspire modern circular practices. The research also shows how resource sensitivity rooted in local customs can inspire current circular practice, highlighting key milestones and traditional aspects of textile production to promote sustainability across the industry. Obravnava proizvodnjo in uporabo volne, lanu in svile, pri čemer izpostavlja tradicionalne prakse, sodobno uporabo in živo nesnovno kulturno dediščino, povezano s tekstilno proizvodnjo.

    Zakulisje evropskih projektov

    No full text
What is happening behind the scenes of European projects? This book ('The Backstage of European Projects') peels back the curtain, exposing invisible project practices, tacit agreements, unwritten rules, unusual rituals, and the mysterious project language. It elucidates the dynamics within the project "family" from a fresh perspective, presenting the modes of cooperation and management pivotal in determining the success or failure of research & development projects. This book will invite some readers to start thinking critically about their own and others' project practices. Others might feel exposed, while some will simply dismiss it, claiming that their project is different and better. Regardless, the book will take readers into the projects’ backstage, unveiling activities that are typically not discussed in public, yet significantly influence acquisition of projects and shape their trajectories. Perhaps most importantly, the author of this book not only possesses an anthropological insight into the subject but is also a project manager with extensive experience in managing projects. Consequently, the book merges theoretical understanding with practical expertise, catering to those seeking to enhance their academic understanding as well as those interested in applying for, obtaining, and successfully implementing European projects.Kaj se skriva v zakulisju evropskih projektov? Knjiga odgrne zastor in razkrije nevidne projektne prakse, tihe dogovore, nepisana pravila, nenavadne obrede in skrivnostno projektno govorico.

    Zemljepisna imena Slovenskega Porabja

Geographical names are an important part of the cultural heritage of every nation. They are a fundamental building block of all civilizations or cultures, filling space with meaning and developing spatial identities. Geographical names in languages with few speakers, such as Slovenian, are often endangered, but this is even more true for the geographical names of ethnic minorities, including the Slovenians of Hungary, the smallest cross-border Slovenian minority. The far western edge of Hungary, which lies between Slovenia and Austria, is called the Rába Valley. It includes seven settlements in which bilingualism is officially present. An outward sign of this bilingualism is bilingual road signs with the names of settlements. The main subject of this research was microtoponyms. The result of the research, a volume with a map and a dictionary, is based on extensive fieldwork and a review of archival sources. It is hoped that the results will help preserve these microtoponyms in people’s minds. In addition to a comprehensive monograph, the map of microtoponyms in the Rába Valley was published as a result of the project.Zemljepisna imena so pomembna kulturna dediščina vsakega naroda. So temeljni gradnik vseh civilizacij oziroma kultur, saj prostor polnijo s pomeni in razvijajo prostorske identitete.

    ePravopis 2023

The ePravopis 2022 orthographic dictionary is the corresponding dictionary of the Slovenian normative guide; it includes lexicon from the Slovenian language corpora which explains the normative rules and also provides additional examples. Main entries belonging to the same orthographic rule are linked to the corresponding orthographic category and are presented in the Pravopisne kategorije ePravopisa (Orthographic Categories of ePravopis) which currently includes 91 categories. The dictionary mainly provides information on the problem areas of the expressive language level, especially regarding notation, use of capital letters, writing together or apart, inflection, and phrases. 764 new dictionary entries were added to the existing dictionary. All dictionary entries (currently, there are 8964 published dictionary entries) contain information on inflection; with regard to orthoepy, information on pronunciation was added to the entries. The 2022 edition of ePravopis focuses on geographic names, especially the illustrations taken from the chapter “Capitalization”. Non-settlement names, names of cities, names of regions and names of structures are included. These are the categories that cause problems for users because of notation, the formation of adjectives and demonyms, or the use of prepositions. Proper names for treaties, declarations, etc., translated and adapted into Slovenian have also been included for examples that could lead to confusion about the official name. The personal proper names are mostly illustrations taken from the guidelines for borrowing from Italian or the chapter “Borrowing Guidelines”.Slovarski del pravopisa prinaša besedje, ki gradivsko ponazarja in deloma razširja pravopisna pravila. To so osebna lastna imena, zemljepisna lastna imena (med njimi nekrajevna imena, imena krajev, pokrajin in imena objektov) in stvarna lastna imena.
