Indicator monitoring solution in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic
No full textLos tableros de control del Covid-19 fueron desarrollados para monitorear los procesos de ingreso, toma de muestras y egreso de personas aisladas en el Complejo Hospitalario ubicado en la Universidad de las Ciencias Informáticas (UCI), como parte del enfrentamiento a la Covid-19 en Cuba. Para el desarrollo de la aplicación se utilizó Grafana como herramienta para la visualización de datos. La solución informática facilitó la gestión de más de 20 mil personas aisladas en el complejo, facilitando el proceso de ingreso, preparación de tomas de muestra, procesamiento de resultados
recibidos y proceso de egreso. Permitió el proceso de seguimiento a las personas en el Complejo Hospitalario UCI- MINSAP durante el enfrentamiento a la pandemia Covid-19 y el monitoreo de los indicadores desempeño identificados.The Covid-19 control panels were developed to monitor the processes of admission, sampling and discharge of isolated persons in the Hospital Complex located in the University of Informatics Sciences (UCI), as part of the confrontation with Covid-19 in Cuba. For the development of the application, Grafana was used as a tool for data visualization. The informatics solution facilitated the management of more than 20 thousand people isolated in the complex, facilitating the admission process, preparation of samples, processing of results received and the discharge process. It allowed the follow-up process of the people in the UCI-MINSAP Hospital Complex during the confrontation with the Covid-19 pandemic and the monitoring of the identified performance indicators
Actividades de calidad para conocer el comportamiento de la eficiencia del desempeño desde etapas tempranas del software
No full textLa eficiencia del desempeño como característica de calidad del producto es un factor importante a tener en cuenta desde inicio del desarrollo del sistema, pues el mal desempeño de esta característica afecta la satisfacción del usuario. Por ello, es significativo conocer el comportamiento de la eficiencia del
desempeño en cada etapa y nivel de desarrollo del software a través de diferentes actividades de calidad. En el presente artículo se analizan normas, estándares, modelos, metodologías y criterios de autores reconocidos a nivel internacional con el objetivo identificar las actividades de calidad que se realizan para conocer el comportamiento de la eficiencia del desempeño en el software. Se definen objetivos, precondiciones, frecuencia de uso, productos de trabajo y los resultados esperados de las actividades de calidad propuestas asociadas a la eficiencia del desempeño. Se considera la ejecución de estas actividades como parte del proceso de control y aseguramiento de la calidad en las instituciones y empresas desarrolladoras de software. Es necesario la incorporación de las actividades desde inicio del desarrollo y realizarlas de forma transversal a las actividades de análisis, diseño e implementación del software. Para valorar la contribución de la propuesta dada, se utiliza el método Delphi y criterios de expertos, siendo exitosamente aceptada y aprobada por los mismos

No full textEs el resultado del estudio y aplicación de los aspectos teórico-metodológicos, vinculados a la orientación y empleo de los recursos educativos y objetos de aprendizaje, durante la enseñanza de diversas asignaturas de las Ciencias Sociales, que se expresa en sus indicaciones metodológicas, con el propósito de contribuir al perfeccionamiento del proceso docente-educativo. Se citan ejemplos de la orientación del sistema de actividades a realizar de Historia de Cuba, Seguridad Nacional y Formación Pedagógica, así como, la realización por los estudiantes, de diferentes objetos de aprendizaje a partir de las diversas tareas docentes indicadas en clases y en el entorno virtual de aprendizaje en el desarrollo de cada asignatura. Los recursos educativos han servido de sostén para cumplimiento de los programas ya sea en las clases presenciales o a distancia. Se utilizaron diferentes métodos de investigación teóricos (analítico-sintético e inductivo-
deductivo) y empíricos (encuestas y entrevistas, análisis documental, observación, consulta a
especialistas) que aproximaron a sus autores a la realidad científica. La concepción dialéctico materialista en la formación y desarrollo del hombre, aportada por los clásicos del marxismo-leninismo, constituyó el fundamento teórico-metodológico principal, la que se sustenta, desde el punto de vista pedagógico, en las concepciones martianas, marxistas leninistas, el pensamiento y la obra de Fidel, así como las experiencias de avanzada acerca de la enseñanza y la educación en Cuba en interés de la formación integral de las nuevas generaciones.It is the result of the study and application of the theoretical-methodological aspects, linked to the orientation and employment of the educational resources and learning objects, during the teaching of diverse subjects of the Social Sciences that is expressed in their methodological indications, with the purpose of contributing to the improvement of the educational-educational process. They make an appointment examples of the orientation of the system of activities to carry out of History of Cuba, National Security and Pedagogic Formation, as well as, the realization for the students, of different learning objects starting from the diverse educational tasks indicated in classes and in the virtual environment of learning during the development of each subject. The educational resources have either served as support for execution of the programs in the present classes or at distance. Different theoretical investigation methods were used (analytic-synthetic and inductive - deductive) and empiric (you interview and interviews, documental analysis, observation, consults to
specialists) that approached their authors to the scientific reality. The dialectical conception
materialistic in the formation and the man's development, contributed by the classics of the
Marxism-Leninism one, it constituted the main theoretical-methodological foundation, the one that
is sustained, from the pedagogic point of view, in the conceptions martianas, Leninist Marxists, the
thought and Fidel's work, as well as the experiences of advanced about the teaching and the
education in Cuba on behalf of the integral formation of the new generations.

An approach to digital education in Cuban universities
No full textEn este trabajo se propone un análisis del insuficiente aprovechamiento de la educación digital, como componente de la educación a distancia, para garantizar una formación de calidad en las instituciones de educación superior en Cuba. El consenso internacional sobre las ventajas que ofrece transitar hacia una educación que combine lo presencial con lo no-presencial se ha visto reafirmado en el escenario de la pandemia de la COVID-19. Se ha demostrado la urgencia de garantizar la educación digital con estándares de calidad sustentados en adecuadas pedagogías, tecnologías y producción de contenidos. Realizando el análisis basado en la metodología del marco lógico, en el trabajo se logra la
descripción de la situación actual e identifican diferentes vías para su transformación. Resultó conveniente la decisión de agrupar los problemas y objetivos de trabajo en cuanto a la formación de los recursos humanos, el compromiso y seguimiento institucional y lo relacionado con el equipamiento tecnológico. Fueron identificados los problemas que están relacionados con esta situación y que persisten, a pesar de los esfuerzos realizados en la mejora de la infraestructura; el establecimiento de políticas y modelos; la realización de actividades metodológicas y de formación. Esta mirada preliminar sobre el tema, así como los objetivos y resultados identificados en la investigación han sido utilizados en la formulación de proyectos dirigidos a dar solución al problema planteado.This paper proposes an analysis of the insufficient use of digital education, as a component of distance education, to ensure quality training in higher education institutions in Cuba. The international consensus on the advantages of moving towards a combination of face-to-face and non-face-to-face education has been reaffirmed in the scenario of the COVID-19 pandemic. The urgency of guaranteeing digital education with quality standards based on adequate pedagogies, technologies and content production has been demonstrated. The analysis, based on the logica framework methodology, describes the current situation and identifies different ways to transform it. The decision to group the problems and work objectives in terms of human resources training, institutional commitment and follow-up, and technological equipment was a good one. The problems related to this situation were identified and persist, despite the efforts made to improve infrastructure, establish policies and models, and carry out methodological and training activities. This preliminary look at the subject, as well as the objectives and results identified in the research, have been used in the formulation of projects aimed at solving the problem
Developing CEFR-aligned tasks for assessing receptive skills
No full textOwing to the role of English in the academic and professional settings, along with the failure of the syllabuses implemented, a language policy was introduced nationwide in 2015 by the Ministry of Higher Education to transform the teaching, learning and assessment of the English language in Cuban universities in accordance with current trends in language education. As a result, a project was implemented two years later, involving a group of English teachers from all Cuban higher education institutions to develop a teaching and certification system to certify students’ English proficiency.
This paper focuses on the process of developing receptive skills tasks aligned with the CEFR for the Cuban proficiency certificate. Challenges experienced over the course of task development are also presented. Qualitative methods were chosen to develop assessment literacy and gain insights into theoretical and practical aspects of certification tests. A collaborative responsive approach, alongside expertise of participants allowed developing basic documents for task development. Further, regional group collaboration and online working to develop tasks and feedback rounds were used as iterative process. The various assessment materials produced using the CEFR as reference were crucial to ensure the development of standardized listening and reading tasks in line with international standards to certify students’ English proficiency in Cuban higher education. The challenges addressed in this paper could help task developers not only
identify which aspects must be paid special attention to when developing receptive skills tasks, but also get used to the new assessment approach
Tool for the promotion of artistic heritage of the University of Computer Science
No full textLa Universidad de las Ciencias Informáticas nació unida a las artes, desde su fundación se instalaron en el campus universitario unas 33 obras originales donadas por destacadas figuras de las artes plásticas nacionales y extranjeras, en un entorno concebido como una gran galería de arte al aire libre de elevado valor patrimonial al cual necesariamente
ha de dársele promoción. Ante la contradicción del desarrollo de la informática, en particular de las aplicaciones para móviles y el cada vez más frecuente uso de los soportes digitales para la difusión del patrimonio y la forma tradicional en que se mostraba y difundía el patrimonio artístico de la Universidad de las Ciencias Informáticas, nace la necesidad de implementar un proyecto que tuviera como objetivo fundamental el de desarrollar una herramienta informática para móviles que permitiera mostrar y difundir el patrimonio artístico atesorado por la Universidad de las Ciencias Informáticas desde su fundación y hasta nuestros días. La presente investigación tiene como principal aporte
práctico la elaboración de una aplicación para móviles que permite la interacción de los usuarios con las obras de arte originales emplazadas en la Universidad de las Ciencias Informáticas. En encuestas de satisfacción aplicadas a los usuarios de la aplicación se ha constatado que el 90% de ellos ha reconocido la importancia de usar estas formas de
promoción, el 95.4% refirió desconocer elementos de las obras de arte, descubiertos a través de la aplicación, y el 98% planteó la necesidad de realizar más acciones de promoción patrimonial como estas, validando la teoría del uso de las nuevas tecnologías para la promoción del patrimonio artístico universitario.The University of Computer Science was born together with the arts, since its foundation some 33 original works have been installed on the university campus, donated by prominent figures of the national and foreign plastic arts, in an environment conceived as a large open-air art gallery of high patrimonial value which must necessarily be
promoted. Given the contradiction in the development of information technology, particularly mobile applications and the increasingly frequent use of digital media for the dissemination of heritage and the traditional way in which the artistic heritage of the University of the Computer Sciences, the need to implement a project whose fundamental objective was to develop a computer tool for mobile phones was born that would allow to show and disseminate the artistic heritage treasured by the University of Computer Sciences since its foundation and to the present day. The main practical contribution of this research is the development of a mobile application that allows users to interact
with the original works of art located at the University of Computer Sciences. In satisfaction surveys applied to the users of the application, it has been found that 90% of them have recognized the importance of using these forms of promotion, 95.4% reported not knowing elements of the works of art, discovered through the application, and 98%
raised the need to carry out more heritage promotion actions like these, validating the theory of the use of new technologies for the promotion of university artistic heritage
Information protection mechanism based on national PKI for XAVIA HIS system
No full textLos sistemas informáticos empleados en el sector de la salud para la gestión de la información sanitaria de un paciente son responsables de la seguridad de los datos. Esto implica garantizar respecto a la información médica: que no se haya alterado o manipulado durante su almacenamiento o transporte (integridad); debe quedar constancia de quién ha llevado a cabo cada acción, de forma que éste no pueda negarlo (no repudio) y tener registro de la fecha y hora de la creación de la información original (temporalidad). Para garantizarlo se emplean instrumentos como la firma digital, de forma que, la identidad del firmante acaba vinculada a este de forma exclusiva (autenticidad). El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo proponer un mecanismo de protección de información clínica electrónica para sistema XAVIA HIS, utilizando firma digital, teniendo como base la infraestructura de llave pública nacional como Autoridad Certificadora Raíz. Para lograrlo se realizó un análisis documental sobre la actualidad del tema, se realizaron entrevistas a administrativos, gestores hospitalarios y especialistas en seguridad informática, lo cual permitió crear las bases de la investigación. Como resultado de la investigación, se obtuvo un mecanismo de protección de información para el intercambio seguro de los registros médicos entre instituciones de salud que cuenten con el sistema XAVIA
HIS.The computer systems used in the health sector for the management of a patient's health information are responsible for the security of the data. This implies guaranteeing regarding medical information: that it has not been altered or manipulated during storage or transport (integrity); It must be recorded who has carried out each action, so that it cannot deny it (non-repudiation) and have a record of the date and time of the creation of the original information (temporality). To guarantee this, instruments such as the digital signature are used, so that the identity of the signer ends up exclusively linked to it (authenticity). The objective of this work is to propose a mechanism for the protection of electronic clinical information for the XAVIA HIS system, using a digital signature, based on the national public key infrastructure as the Root Certification Authority. To achieve this, a documentary analysis was carried out on the current status of the subject, interviews were carried out with administrators, hospital managers and specialists in computer security, which allowed to create the bases of the investigation. As a result of the investigation, an information protection mechanism was obtained for the secure exchange of medical records between health institutions that have the XAVIA HIS system

Mediante la aplicación del método de investigación histórico-lógico, el estudio de casos, la observación del empleo de Internet y las Redes Sociales y una profunda revisión bibliográfica se definió cronológicamente como el
mercado, dio lugar al surgimiento de la propaganda y la publicidad, y al desarrollo de los medios y estrategias comunicacionales, hasta el surgimiento de la Big Data, la segmentación psicográfica, la creación de matrices de opinión y la comunicación memética. Se concluye que la dinámica de lo mediático-comunicacional se han impuesto de modo significativo sobre lo político, incidiendo en relaciones de poder, e incluso determinando el vínculo entre política y sociedad.The articule constitutes the essence of the author's doctoral thesis in Historical Sciences, whose objective was to demonstrate that the development of Information and Communication Technologies is used by the empire to consolidate its ideological and cultural hegemony, and constitutes the most diabolical project of imperial power: to dominate the minds of the people and establish the supremacy of the capitalist ideology, to control consumption and to establish a solid political dominance. Improving information exchange processes between different parts of a management system when implementing the State’s information function on the internal level

Cloud computing is now becoming one of the most common IT technologies for deploying applications due to its key features: flexible solutions, on-demand availability and good price/quality ratio. Due to the fact that cloud computing bring with them new challenges in the field of information security, it is imperative for organizations to control the process of information risk management in the cloud. This paper proposes a risk assessment approach for assessing the potential damage from the attack on the implementation of components of confidential data and justifies the need for the inclusion of private clouds with a high degree of protection in a hybrid cloud computing environment. Suggested approach to information security risk estimation allows conduction of cloud environment security functioning in conditions of considered vulnerability class influence and also an effectiveness of measure and facility complex to withstand these vulnerabilities. Constructive alignment in the teaching- learning process: suggestions on how to face it responsibly

Is this really so? It is true that the expected teaching results are not always achieved in the teaching–learning process, but is it only
the fault of what the students do wrong or fail to do? How much of the blame do the students bear for their failure? How responsible are the teachers? Despite what is programmed in teaching institutions as preparation from the methodological
point of view, it is not true that all teachers adequately follow the didactic, pedagogical and methodological procedures that would guarantee deep and not superficial or strategic learning of their students. The article analyzes what constructive alignment is and what it is for, what learning approaches are, the types that exist, how they should be encouraged or eradicated in daily pedagogical work and how to handle them in teaching terms
to achieve better results in the evaluation process, with the usual recognition of the work done. The Historical–Logical, Analytical–Synthetic and Documentary Analysis methods were used to prepare the article. The objective of this article has been to demonstrate the incidence of constructive alignment in the achievement of a more integral, effective and efficient process within the educational environment
