Spinal mobility disorders in performing arts students based on BMI
In: Telesná výchova a šport v živote človeka : konferenčný recenzovaný zborník vedeckých prác / rec. Robert Rozim, Daniel Baránek. 1. vyd. Zvolen : Technická univerzita vo Zvolene, 2024. ISBN 978-80-228-3441-4. Pohyblivosť chrbtice zohráva zásadnú úlohu v udržiavaní zdravia a funkčnosti pohybového aparátu, najmä u osôb so sedavým životným štýlom, vrátane študentov. Do výskumu bolo zahrnutých 104 študentov, ktorí boli rozdelení do dvoch skupín podľa BMI: optimálna hmotnosť (optimálny rozsah BMI – 18,5 až 24,99) (n=64) a podváha a nadváha, t. j. mimo optimálny rozsah BMI (n=39). Tieto intervencie môžu výrazne prispieť k zníženiu rizika vzniku muskuloskeletálnych porúch a k optimalizácii celkovej fyzickej kondície študentov.VEGA 1/0512/24 Epidemiológia porúch muskuloskeletálneho systému u študentov múzických umen
English abbreviations related to language teaching: problems of typology and translation into Ukrainian
In: Vykladannja mov u vyščych navčaľnych zakladach osvity na sučasnomu etapi. Mižpredmetni zvyazky = Teaching languages at higher educational establishments at the present stage. Intersubject relations. Charkov : Charkivskij nacionaľnij universitet im. V. N. Karazina, 2024. ISSN 2073-4379. No. 45 (2024), pp. 37-52.The article analyses the thematic groups (TG) and subgroups (SG) of English language abbreviations of four categories related to language teaching: 1) names of language teaching organisations; 2) names of approaches to language teaching and forms of its organisation; 3) names of forms of control, diplomas and certificates in language teaching; 4) characteristics of languages as objects of study and learners. On the basis of similar studies on thematic classification of Ukrainian language terminology, the author claims the insufficient number of studies on English language abbreviations. This, together with the need for their systematic thematic classification, has made it possible to substantiate the relevance of the study. The aim of the study is to identify the above-mentioned TGs and TPGs, to determine their structural characteristics and methods of translation. Consequently, the tasks included the selection of research material, its analysis, the formulation of conclusions and further perspectives. The criterion for distinguishing between TGs and TPGs is the denotative feature, which signifies the realities of extra-linguistic reality. The division of lexemes into TGs and TPGs is an important task in the study of the terminological system. The material of the study included 435 abbreviations selected from original English sources. Within the categories analysed, TGs and TPGs have different degrees of branching and can each contain from 1 to 7 groups and subgroups. The latter can be further subdivided into even smaller units. As a result, the largest and most ramified TGs and TPGs are located in the centre of each category, while the smallest are on the periphery. The analysed TGs and TPGs differ in terms of their quantitative composition, structural models, belonging to a part of speech and the principles of rendering English abbreviations into Ukrainian. The logic and clarity of the analysed TGs and TPGs are ensured by the common conceptual features of their components, which give the respective TGs and TPGs their thematic integrity. These components are based on different models of term formation, which may influence the techniques chosen to translate them. The study of such dependencies within the analysed categories is suggested as a prospect for further research
Polygraph in criminal proceedings in the context of the nemo tenetur principle
In: Naděje právní vědy 2023 : právní věda v praxi / rec. Michal Dittrich, Tomáš Křivka ... [et al.]. 1. vyd. Plzeň : Západočeská univerzita v Plzni, 2024. ISBN 978-80-261-1257-0. S. 147-156.Polygraph in criminal proceedings in the context of the nemo tenetur principle The polygraph is a special instrument that enables to perform a psychophysiological examination. This examination is based on current scientific development and hopefully could be used as proper evidence in the future. At the present time judicial practice does not accept psychophysiological examination as proper evidence. Despite this fact, expert statements are drawn up about such examinations, which help to obtain additional evidence in criminal proceedings. This paper is dedicated to practical aspects of psychophysiological examination and subsequently the use of such an examination in criminal proceedings with reference to the related regulations of the Penal Code. Finally, it is necessary to deal with the principle of the prohibited self-incrimination and its application during the psychophysiological examination. Protection against self-incrimination is a very important principle that must be respected at every stage of criminal proceedings, even when using a polygraph, in order to ensure the right to a fair trial. That is why it is necessary to use a polygraph and perform a psychophysiological examination in a way that does not violate the principle of prohibition against self-incrimination
Discursive ethos and civic identities in the French press during the Covid-19 pandemic through the editorials of the daily newspaper Le Monde
In: Studia Romanica Posnaniensia. Poznań : Wydawnictwo Naukowego Uniwersytetu im. Adama Mickiewicza w Poznaniu, 2024. ISSN 0137-2475. Vol. 51, no. 1 (2024), pp. 139-153.The ethos of the journalist is based on his representations of the public space. Updated in the discourse, they participate in the construction of citizen identity. This is what we show through an enunciative analysis of editorials from the daily “Le Monde” during the Covid-19 pandemic crisis. The analysis highlights an increasingly marked identity divide during the crisis.VEGA 1/0748/21 Lexikogenetický potenciál mediálneho politického diskurzu o kríz
Dual digraphs of finite meet-distributive and modular lattices
In: Cubo : a mathematical journal. Temuco : Department of mathematics and statistics of the Universidad de La Frontera, 2024. ISSN 0716-7776. Vol. 26, no. 2 (2024), pp. 279-302.We describe the digraphs that are dual representations of finite lattices satisfying conditions related to meet-distributivity and modularity. This is done using the dual digraph representation of finite lattices by Craig, Gouveia and Haviar (2015). These digraphs, known as TiRS digraphs, have their origins in the dual representations of lattices by Urquhart (1978) and Ploščica (1995). We describe two properties of finite lattices which are weakenings of (upper) semimodularity and lower semimodularity respectively, and then show how these properties have a simple description in the dual digraphs. Combined with previous work in this journal on dual digraphs of semidistributive lattices (2022), it leads to a dual representation of finite meet-distributive lattices. This provides a natural link to finite convex geometries. In addition, we present two sufficient conditions on a finite TiRS digraph for its dual lattice to be modular. We close by posing three open problems.VEGA 1/0152/22 Usporiadané algebraické štruktúr

The situational test of emotional flexibility: The expert's consensus on the emotion regulation strategy effectiveness
In: Psychological application and trends 2024. 1. vyd. Lisabon : inScience Press, 2024. ISBN 978-989-35106-6-7. ISSN 2184-2205. Pp. 377-379.The ability to effectively regulate emotions has emerged as an important protective factor for mental health. Current research provides insights into the maladaptive/adaptive nature of the selected emotion regulation strategies (e.g., cognitive reappraisal, suppression of emotion expression). The ambiguity of these findings suggests a protective factor of mental health may be an individual's ability to flexibly use different emotion regulation strategies depending on the situation evoking this emotion. However, measuring the flexibility of emotion regulation strategies is problematic due to the lack of measurements. The Situational Test of Emotional Flexibility (STEF) was created by the authors of the study, containing twelve pairs of situation scenarios eliciting three negative emotions (fear, sadness, and anger). Each pair of scenarios takes place in the same situation, changing only one aspect of the situation (e.g., the presence of other people). Participants are asked to consider six emotion regulation strategy effectiveness (acceptance, cognitive reappraisal, rumination, expression of emotion, ignoring, self-compassion) to regulate the evoked emotion for each scenario. STEF allows the assessment of the emotion regulation strategy flexibility in each scenario and also the assessment of the preferred emotion regulation strategy. This paper presents the results of an expert consensus on the effectiveness of six emotion regulation strategies via 24 scenarios. The research sample consisted of 19 experts (4 psychotherapists, 10 counselling/school psychologists, and 5 clinical psychologists) requiring at least five years of practice (M = 11.4 years) who assessed the effectiveness of using six emotion regulation strategies in 24 scenarios evoking fear, sadness, and anger. The results show that from the experts' perspective, self-compassion, expression of emotion, and cognitive reappraisal were the most effective emotion regulation strategies for all negative emotions. Ignoring emotion and rumination were the least effective strategies for all of them. The rank order of the effectiveness of the strategies showed slight differences separately for each emotion: anger, sadness, and fear. We discuss the results regarding the adaptive nature of emotion regulation strategies.VEGA 1/0569/22 Emočná flexibilita: stratégie regulácie emócií v meniacich sa podmienkach ako protektívne faktory psychického zdravi
