In: Analityčno-porivnjaľne pravoznavstvo : elektronne naukove vydannja. Užgorod : Užgorodskij nacionaľnij universitet, 2024. ISSN 2788-6018. Vol. 4, no. 2 (2024), pp. 699-704.The evolution of digital technology has revolutionized the landscape of criminal investigations and legal proceedings. This paper delves into the nuanced realm of evidence, with a particular focus on digital evidence, which has become increasingly prevalent in today’s digital age. The proliferation of digital information presents both opportunities and challenges for the field of criminal procedure. Recognizing the growing importance of electronic evidence in criminal investigations, the Commission has taken proactive measures to streamline the process of obtaining such evidence. New rules have been introduced to facilitate the acquisition of electronic evidence by judicial authorities. Among these rules are provisions for the creation of a European Evidence Production Order and a European Preservation Order specifically tailored for electronic evidence in criminal cases. Furthermore, providers of electronic services operating within the European Union are now required to appoint a legal representative, further enhancing the accessibility of electronic evidence for legal proceedings. Despite these advancements, the utilization of digital evidence raises complex legal questions and challenges. This paper critically examines the various implications associated with the use of digital evidence, shedding light on issues such as authenticity, admissibility, and the preservation of digital evidence. By analyzing these aspects in depth, the paper aims to provide insights into the multifaceted nature of digital evidence and its implications for criminal procedure. In addition to addressing legal complexities, the paper also seeks to establish a foundational understanding of digital evidence by providing basic definitions and classifications. By elucidating the diverse sources and forms of digital evidence, ranging from emails and transaction records to video recordings and metadata, the paper lays the groundwork for a comprehensive understanding of this evolving field. In conclusion, this paper serves as a comprehensive exploration of the role of digital evidence in contemporary criminal investigations and legal proceedings
Structuralism and its influence on selected areas of Slovak linguistics
In: NOVÁ FILOLOGICKÁ REVUE : časopis o súčasnej lingvistike, literárnej vede, translatológii a kulturológii. Banská Bystrica : Univerzita Mateja Bela, 2024. ISSN 1338-0583. Roč. 16, č. 1 (2024), s. 49-71.Contemporary Slovak linguistics has built upon the research tradition arising from the field’s earlier stages of development. Modern linguistic trends active since the 1920s have also influenced Slovak linguistics significantly. Based on the examination of scholarly articles from that period, this paper aims to assemble a selection of information related to the establishment of a new linguistic trend – structuralism – in Slovak linguistics in the context of Czechoslovakia. The cultivation of theoretical discussions in the post-war period – connected with the organization of linguistic research in Slovakia – is observed on the basis of contemporary Slovak and Czech linguistic texts on selected linguistic topics written from the 1930s to the 1970s. Apart from that, publications evaluating the presence of structuralism in Slovak linguistics are also examined (e.g. Anton Popovič, Ľubomír Ďurovič, Ján Kačala, Rudolf Krajčovič and František Štraus). The paper focuses on the beginnings of structuralism in Slovak linguistics, devoting attention to the Bratislava Linguistic Circle (1945) and its activities. Views of neogrammarianism and structuralism are observed, for in Slovak linguistics such views influenced the way the Czechoslovak question was perceived, while also informing research into phonology, dialectology, morphology and syntax, as well as lexis and language culture. The paper also traces the impact of particular views on educational practice
Trade-offs and synergie effects of regulating ecosystem services along an climatic gradient in Slovakia
In: Journal of geoscience and environment protection. Wuhan : Scientific Research Publishing, 2024. ISSN 2327-4336. Vol. 12, no. 6 (2024), pp. 135-150.This study aims to assess the synergies and trade-offs of regulating ecosystem services. Ecosystem services are non-linearly interconnected and changes in one service can positively or negatively affect another. We evaluated ecosystem services based on biophysical indicators using an expert scoring system that determines the corresponding soil functions and is part of the existing databases available in Slovakia. This methodological combination enabled us to provide unique mapping and assessment of ecosystem services within Slovakia. Correlation analysis between individual regulating ecosystem services and climate regions, slope, texture, and altitude confirm the statistically significant influence of climate and slope in all agricultural land, arable land, and grassland ecosystems. Statistically significant synergistic effects were established between the regulation of the water regime and the regulation of soil erosion within each climate region, apart from the very warm climate region. Only in a very warm climate region was potential of regulating ecosystem services mutually beneficial for soil erosion control and soil cleaning potential (immobilization of inorganic pollutants).APVV-18-0035 Oceňovanie ekosystémových služieb prírodného kapitálu ako nástroja hodnotenia sociálno-ekonomického potenciálu územ
In: Zákoník práce a sociální zabezpečení 2024 / rec. Vladimír Minčič, Jana Komendová. 1. vyd. Praha : Univerzita Karlova v Praze, 2024. ISBN 978-80-7630-049-1. Arms control and its impact on sustainable European security
In: Entrepreneurship and Sustainability Issues. Vilnius : Entrepreneurship and sustainability center, 2024. ISSN 2345-0282. Vol. 11, no. 3 (2024), pp. 290-304.The international legal framework for arms control fundamentally impacts global security. However, this vital institution is currently dysfunctional, which, in conjunction with the war in Ukraine and the crisis in US-Russia and NATO-Russia relations, is reviving the threat of the European continent becoming a zone of uncontrolled deployment of Russian and US weapons and weapons systems. The collapse of the arms control mechanism has a high potential to spark an uncontrolled arms race across Europe, with potential global spillover. Arms control is a unique idea promoting sustainable international security. It is based on the premise that numerous reductions in weapons and weapons systems by world actors will reduce the likelihood of the outbreak of armed conflict. Arms control is a complex process implemented through international treaties and agreements. They aim to reduce the force potential of a state actor to a level that is only necessary to ensure internal security. This article aims to analyze the impact of the arms control system on sustainable European security and its role within the international order. The basic premise of the arms control process is the principle of equal security, which is based on the sovereign equality of states expressed in the UN Charter. Arms control is always based on the parties' objectives and is therefore not considered an end in itself but is consistently used as part of a process aimed at sustainable international security and building sustainable peace.VEGA 1/0774/22 Suverenita ako faktor krízy liberálneho svetového poriadku

Harmonizing musculoskeletal health: transformative effects of 8-week intervention program on posture in music students
In: Physical education of students. Charkov : IP Iermakov S.S., 2024. ISSN 2308-7250. Vol. 28, no. 2 (2024), pp. 78-84.Background and Study Aim. Musculoskeletal complaints are common among music students, irrespective of gender. They develop due to intense practice over an instrument; spending long hours of practice may cause muscular imbalance, tension, and awkward posture. The repetitive nature of practice in music students may cause overuse and fatigue. This increases the risk of acute pain and can affect both quality of life and performance. Therefore, the present study aimed at evaluating the transformative effects of an 8-week intervention program on posture in music students. Material and Methods. The 8-week intervention program with transformative effects was conducted over 8 weeks (from September 18 to November 12) on Mondays and Thursdays, for 45 minutes each session. The program aimed to benefit 25 music students, of whom (i) 15 were in the experimental group (with an average age of 24.20 years, average weight of 82.40 kg, and average height of 178.60 cm), and (ii) 10 were in the control group (with an average age of 24.60 years, average weight of 78.40 kg, and average height of 182.20 cm). All participants were enrolled in the second year of a master's degree program in Performing Arts. Standardized measures for evaluating posture (utilizing Klein and Thomas's method, as refined by Mayer) were conducted both before (Week 1, September 18) and after (Week 8, November 12) the intervention. The impact of the 8-week intervention program was assessed using the Wilcoxon Rank-Sum Test, Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test, and Pearson's r. Results. Significant differences (p ˂ 0.05, ˂ 0.01) between 25 music students (M); in particular experimental group (n = 15) and control group (n = 10), were in 4 (80%) segments of body in post-test: (i) Head and neck; (ii) Abdomen and pelvis; (iii) Curvature of spine; (iiii) Shoulders and scapulas. Insignificant differences (p ˃ 0.05) between 25 music students (M) were in pre-test. Conclusions. Significant differences (p ˂ 0.05, ˂ 0.01) indicated the transformative effects in the experimental group's (n = 15) posture. This emphasizes the potential of the 8-week intervention program in promoting musculoskeletal health of music students. Therefore, additional research is necessary to investigate the lasting resilience (sustainability) of advantages and enhance the intervention plan in music education
Interaktívna geometria - planimetria
Naša práca „Interakívna geometria“ reaguje na nové trendy prenikania IKT do matematického vzdelávania. Východiskovým cieľom bolo vytvorenie dynamického a interaktívneho elektronického študijného materiálu v systéme LMS Moodle, ktorý čitateľovi prívetivou, ale zároveň jasnou formou približuje základy planimetrie. Pri kreovaní aktivity „Elektronická kniha“ v systéme Moodle sme vo významnej miere využili kompatibilnosť systému Moodle a programu GeoGebra. Obidva tieto softvérové produkty sú voľne šíriteľné a ich používanie zaznamenáva v poslednom období výrazný nárast
The Evaluation of the Nature of Sedentary Behavior and Physical Activities Among Students of Performing Arts
In: European journal of physical education and sport. Washington : Cherkas Global University Press, 2024. ISSN 2310-0133. Roč. 12, č. 1 (2024), pp. 3-15.The aim of the research was to evaluate the nature of sedentary behavior and physical activities among students of performing arts. Two standardized questionnaires were used: the Sedentary Behavior Questionnaire (SBQ) and a modified version of the International Physical Activity Questionnaire Short Form (IPAQ Short Form). The research sample consisted of 124 students from the Faculty of Performing Arts at the Academy of Arts in Banska Bystrica. Significant differences in sedentary behavior were found between weekdays and weekends. Students spent an average of 9 hours and 42 minutes engaged in sedentary activities during weekdays and 7 hours and 33 minutes during weekends. The majority of sedentary time was dedicated to studying and class preparation (237 minutes per day) and playing a musical instrument (105 minutes per day). Moderate-intensity physical activity was reported by 48.39 % of students, while 23.39 % exhibited low levels of activity. Only 23.38 % of students achieved more than 10,000 steps per day. The results indicate a need to raise awareness about the importance of physical activity among students. It is recommended to organize lectures and workshops on the health benefits of exercise and to provide practical advice on integrating physical activity into their daily routines, taking into account their time constraints and academic commitments
