In: Šport a rekreácia 2024 : zborník vedeckých prác / rec. Ivan Uher, Robert Rozim ... [et al.]. 1. vyd. Nitra : Univerzita Konštantína Filozofa v Nitre, 2024. ISBN 978-80-558-2171-9.

Digitalization in local government environment, current state and challenges for the future
In: Acta aerarii publici : vedecký časopis Ekonomickej fakulty Univerzity Mateja Bela v Banskej Bystrici. Banská Bystrica : Vydavateľstvo Univerzity Mateja Bela - Belianum, 2024. ISSN 1336-8818. Roč. 21, č. 1 (2024), s. 11-33.The topic of digitization resonates in Slovakia and around the world, both in the corporate and public sectors. It is a natural result of technical, economic, and social development at home and in the world with significant economic, social, and individual-level impacts. Both Slovakia and the European Union have set strategic goals in this area and are interested to fulfilling them. In our paper, we present the topic of digitalization to the widest possible range of readers, because, especially from the professional public, there are voices about the lack of information on the issue. We define it against related concepts as computerization (electronization), smart cities, and industry 4.0. In the article, we aim to focus on digitalization in the environment of local governments, we present selected examples of possible digital solutions from self-government practice, but we also reflect on the challenges and barriers that currently hinder the application of digital solutions in the practice of local governments to support in this way the implementation of digital solutions in practice, and also to point out the importance of further research in this sphere and outline its further direction.VEGA 1/0411/24 Vplyv ekonomických nástrojov verejnej politiky na digitálnu pripravenosť podnikov

Potential of AI in literary analysis: Comparison of ai and university undergraduates' analysis of a literary text
In: Lingua Viva : odborný časopis pro teorii a praxi vyučování cizím jazykům a češtině jako cizímu jazyku. České Budějovice : Jihočeská univerzita, 2024. ISSN 1801-1489. Roč. 20, č. 29 (2024), s. 9-24.AI has enormous potential for the creation and analysis of texts, which opens great possibilities for its responsible use in education, including the teaching of arts and literature. In the present study, we focus on comparing the analysis of a literary text (a modern short story by a Canadian writer Margaret Atwood "There was Once", 1992) by 100 university students and AI, determining AI's potential (speed, analysis of large blocks of texts, and ability to identify and verify explicit information and also some implicit information, grasp the gist of the whole text) and limitations (inability to decode implicit information based on extensive parts of text, and expressing attitude to a specific text in a specific situation and inability to understand microtext-related aspects) and in the literary interpretation of a fiction text.KEGA 008UMB-4/2022 Univerzitné vzdelávanie ako brána k mysleniu: integrácia čitateľských, akademických a kritických zručností ako predpoklad intelektuálneho kapitálu univerzít a internacionalizácie výučb
Hyperon Production in Bi + Bi Collisions at the Nuclotron-Based Ion Collider Facility and Angular Dependence of Hyperon Spin Polarization
In: Particles. Basel : Multidisciplinary Digital Publishing Institute, 2024. ISSN 2571-712X. Vol. 7, no. 4 (2024), pp. 984-1003.The strange baryon production in Bi + Bi collisions at √sNN = 9.0 GeV is studied using the PHSD transport model. Hyperon and anti-hyperon yields, transverse momentum spectra, and rapidity spectra are calculated, and their centrality dependence and the effect of rapidity and transverse momentum cuts are studied. The rapidity distributions for Λ, Ξ, Ξ baryons are found to be systematically narrower than for Λs. The pT slope parameters for anti-hyperons vary more with centrality than those for hyperons. Restricting the accepted rapidity range to |y| 0, the polarization increases with cos ϕH , while for particles with pz < 0 it decreases.VEGA 1/0521/22 Fluktuácie v horúcej silno interagujúcej hmot
Aplikácia mentálneho účtovníctva na vybrané aspekty spotrebiteľského správania
In: Acta aerarii publici : vedecký časopis Ekonomickej fakulty Univerzity Mateja Bela v Banskej Bystrici. Banská Bystrica : Vydavateľstvo Univerzity Mateja Bela - Belianum, 2024. ISSN 1336-8818. Roč. 21, č. 2 (2024), s. 77-90.This study explores mental accounting by integrating behavioral economics and accounting principles to understand consumer decision-making. It introduces a novel framework based on double-entry accounting principles, drawing from accounting standards, to visualize mental accounting processes and mitigate heuristic-driven biases. Theoretical insights synthesize classical and modern literature, highlighting heuristics as both enablers and sources of cognitive bias. Empirical analysis demonstrates how these biases influence decision-making and validates the framework’s utility in identifying and mitigating irrationalities. By adopting an accounting perspective, consumers can rationalize financial decisions more effectively. The findings advance behavioral economics, offering practical tools to enhance decision-making under uncertainty and suggesting paths for future research
Remote sensing and aeromagnetic mapping for unveiling mineralization potential: Nuqrah Area, Saudi Arabia
In: Geomechanics and Geophysics for Geo-Energy and Geo-Resources. Cham : Springer Nature Switzerland AG, 2024. ISSN 2363-8419. Vol. 10, no. 1 149 (2024), pp. 1-22.Lately, Saudi Arabia has been developing its mineral exploration. However, comprehensive studies of the collected data are not accessible. Thus, the purpose of this research is to identify and map the hydrothermal alteration zones and structural lineaments that regulate the mineral occurrences in the Nuqrah region of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia using remote sensing and aeromagnetic data. To achieve the desired goal of the study, ASTER remote sensing data were employed, and they were processed in several ways, including principal component analysis, band ratio, and false color composites to reveal the zones of alteration and structure lineaments. In addition, aeromagnetic data was employed to map the lineaments controlling the mineralization. These datasets were integrated using GIS tools to generate a new mineralization potential map of the Nuqrah area, which was classified into three classes: low, moderate, and high probability mineralization. The results showed thirteen intriguing anomalies (high potential mineralization) dispersed over the research area to be prospected. Additionally, techniques such as residual, regional, first vertical derivative, and tilt derivative were utilized to detect the potential mineral-related geologic structures. The results were validated by plotting known mineralization sites on our maps. Six significant faulting trends have been found, according to the lineament map and rose diagrams from remote sensing: NE–SW, WNW–ESE, N–S, ENE–WSW, NNE–SSW, NW–SE, and E–W. The research region is most affected by the NW–SE, ENE–WSW, E–W, and N–S trends, which are organized in decreasing order of magnitude, according to the rose diagram of the aeromagnetic maps. The applied approach can be employed to map potential mineral deposits in Saudi Arabia and similar zones around the globe.RSP2024R496 King Saud Universit

In: Sport Mont. Podgorica : Crnogorska sportska akademija, 2024. ISSN 1451-7485. Vol. 22, no. 1 (2024), pp. 15-21.The goal of the research was to determine the impact of an intervention program containing musical movement and dance activities on the level of pupils’ physical abilities at the elementary level of education in physical and sport education classes. The object of the research consisted of Ʃ63 pupils, boys (n=30) aged 10.21±0.42 and girls (n=32) aged 10.32±0.37. The content of the movement program was selected means containing music and movement, dance activities and aerobics, which were implemented for 18 weeks, twice a week, 45 min during physical and sport education. In terms of data collection methods, standardized tests for physical education practice were used. Tests were used to assess the level of motor skills: sitand- reach test, standing long jump, sit-ups in 30s, endurance shuttle run and shuttle run 4x10. The somatometry method was used. The effect of the implemented movement program was confirmed and significant positive changes in the level of the observed movement abilities were observed: the level of mobility in the joints of the trunk in boys (t=-8.471), girls (t=-9.357), explosive power of the lower limbs in boys (t=-14.459), girls (Z=-4.940), the dynamic and endurance power of the abdominal, hip and thigh muscles in boys (Z=-4.325), girls (t=-19.264), running speed in both boys (Z=-4.783), girls (t=7.095) with a large effect size, in endurance skills in both boys (Z=-4.828), girls, (Z=-5.028) also with a large effect size. Based on the results, the regular and purposeful physical activity of pupils in the school environment significantly influences the level of physical abilities, and thus physical fitness as one of the manifestations of health.KEGA 025UMB-4/2021 Tvorba multimediálnej pomôcky so zameraním na zdravie žiakov v primárnom vzdelávan
Transaction costs as a factor of contracting out public services
In: Acta aerarii publici : vedecký časopis Ekonomickej fakulty Univerzity Mateja Bela v Banskej Bystrici. Banská Bystrica : Vydavateľstvo Univerzity Mateja Bela - Belianum, 2024. ISSN 1336-8818. Roč. 21, č. 2 (2024), s. 1-13.Deciding whether to contract out public services or to manage them internally should involve the analysis of the transaction costs, which can make up a significant part of the overall costs for contracting out. Despite their importance, previous research suggests that these costs are often overlooked during the decision-making process, both in Slovak municipalities and in other countries as well. This study identifies the current situation in Slovakia regarding transaction costs, which we split into ex-ante transaction costs and transaction costs occuring during the contract period, specifically those associated with the municipal waste management service. Using data from an online survey of 254 municipalities, the analysis shows a general lack of information regarding these costs from the municipalities´ point of view.APVV-23-0018 Zelené verejné obstarávanie ako nástroj inovatívnych environmentálnych riešen
