No full textTáto učebnica vznikla ako reakcia na seminárne a záverečné práce na tému kritika prekladu počas rokov našej pedagogickej praxe na Katedre anglistiky a amerikanistiky Filozofickej fakulty Univerzity Mateja Bela. Nadobudli sme pocit, podložený oponentúrou či vedením prác v tejto oblasti, že študentská (ale nielen) kritika prekladu je pomerne repetitívna, bez nápadu, bez objektívnej metodiky, bez dostatočného literárneho kontextu a neprináša nové poznanie. Snahou a cieľom učebnice je teda upozorniť študentov práve na tieto nedostatky a ukázať, ako možno kritiku prekladu písať s precíznejšou metodikou, vedeckejšie, ale hlavne obohacujúcejšie. Kritika prekladu, obzvlášť umeleckých textov, je neoddeliteľne spätá s interpretáciou, preto je práve interpretácia nosný pojem tiahnuci sa celou učebnicou, ktorý zároveň tvorí aj jednu z jej dvoch častí

No full textvysokoškolská učebnicaVysokoškolská učebnica reflektuje na aktuálne potreby a zameriava sa na systematické spracovanie aktivizačných metód a terapeutických prístupov v kontexte sociálnej práce. Cieľom je poskytnúť študentom a študentkám sociálnej práce, ako aj odborníkom z praxe, komplexný teoreticko- metodologický rámec pre pochopenie a implementáciu aktivizačných prístupov v praxi. Osobitný dôraz kladieme na prepojenie teoretických východísk s praktickou aplikáciou, pričom zdôrazňujeme význam individuálneho prístupu a rešpektovania špecifických potrieb každého prijímateľa sociálnych služieb. Prostredníctvom detailne rozpracovaných metodických postupov a kazuistík poskytujeme konkrétne nástroje pre efektívnu implementáciu aktivizačných a terapeutických metód v praxi. Špecifickým prínosom učebnice je jej interdisciplinárny charakter, ktorý integruje najnovšie poznatky z oblasti sociálnej práce, psychológie, pedagogiky, zdravotníckych vied ako aj ďalších príbuzných vedných disciplín

What psychosocial support do first year university students need? A mixed creative methods study

Vol. 16, no. 1 (2024), pp. 140-153.Higher education students need help and support to enable them to cope with the challenges of their studies. The aim of this study was to investigate the perspectives of first-year undergraduate students on predictors of psychosocial support in challenging situations. A creative art-based descriptive research design was employed utilising an individual One-Page Profile form to gather data from 240 first-year students from two different universities in Slovakia. Data was collected and analysed using a content-thematic and visual approach. Four significant individual predictors of psychosocial support were identified: emotional, instrumental, informational and appraisal. Emotional support consists of desirable mental health, defined by the students as experiencing happiness, self-satisfaction, self-development, relationships which are satisfying, loving and safe, trust, empathic acceptance, and care from others. Instrumental support varies from personnel up to material resources e.g., people, animals, and assistance such as financial services. The preferred informational support is peer-to-peer counselling, followed by professional counselling. When students describe appraisal support their needs are primarily in the areas of well-being and self-efficacy. The aim of the papers is to characterize the possibilities of strategic development of tourism in the investigated UNESCO destination based on the analysis of supply and demand for tourism. The destination has an excellent offer of tourism, especially in the area of cultural heritage, which is represented by the unique monuments of the towns of Levoča and Spišská Podhradie, the location of Spišská Kapitula and Spišský hrad Castle. The tourism superstructure (number of accommodation facilities and their development in the period from 2001 to 2023), tourism infrastructure (museums, galleries, tourist and cycling trails, educational trails, etc.), tourism demand (number of accommodated guests and its development in the period 2001 – 2023, average length of stay, number of visitors to the SNM - Spisske Museum Levoča and its development in the period 1999 to 2023, etc.) are also examined in the papers. The relationship between phonemic awareness, vocabulary and musical abilities in 5-6-year old children in kindergartens

Vol. 7, no. 3 (2024), pp. 1494-1505.Young children (5-6 years old) are building strong foundations in language and music. Their phonemic awareness is developing, allowing them to identify and manipulate sounds in words. Vocabulary is rapidly expanding, with children learning new words and their meanings. Musical abilities are blossoming, with many children enjoying singing, keeping rhythm, and exploring instruments. However, there can be variations in these skills and even gender differences in performance on some tasks. This study investigated the phonemic awareness, vocabulary and musical abilities of 5-6-year-old children. We explored potential correlations between these domains and any gender differences in performance. Forty children (20 girls and 20 boys) from three kindergartens (two urban, one rural) were tested in June 2022. Three assessments were employed: Eľkonin's test of phonemic awareness, COWAT speech fluency test (vocabulary) and Bentley's test of musical abilities. Pearson's correlation coefficient analyzed relationships between the tests. A positive correlation was found between all three tests, suggesting potential links between phonemic awareness, vocabulary and musical abilities. Interestingly, girls outperformed boys sig nificantly in both Eľkonin's and Bentley's tests. Within Eľkonin's test, children achieved the highest scores in syllable synthesis (subtest No. 4) and the lowest scores in syllable deletion (subtest No. 10). This study suggests a connection between phonemic awareness, vocabulary, and musical abilities in young children. Additionally, it highlights potential gender differences in specific aspects of these domains. Further research is needed to explore the cause of these findings and their implications for e arly childhood education

No full textSúbor obsahuje digitalizáty (525 snímkov) pôvodného rukopisného dokumentu Csákósov katalóg korešpondencie Koháryovcov zo IV. časti rodového archívu uloženého v zbierkach Štátneho archívu v Banskej Bystrici (fond Koháry – Coburg (1241) 1321 – 1945) – 1. škatuľa. Jeho autor János József Csákós (1883 – 1957) ho vypracoval v rokoch 1944 – 1945. Katalóg obsahuje podrobné regesty listov rôzneho rozsahu: v niektorých prípadoch obsahuje aj výťahy, resp. preklady originálnych listov in extenso väčšinou v maďarskom, ale čiastočne aj v nemeckom, latinskom a francúzskom jazyku. Obsahovo ide o listy súkromného a hospodársko-správneho charakteru, ale aj listy k záležitostiam na celoštátnej úrovni. Napísané boli v rokoch 1524 – 1825. Listy s hospodárskym obsahom, ktoré zvyčajne písali šafári, správcovia majetkov a prefekti svojim pánom, hovoria o hospodárení na majetkoch, investíciách, stavebných projektoch a tiež o situácii poddaných. Celouhorská problematika sa objavuje najmä v listoch vtedajších významných politikov (napr. Jána a Mikuláša Pálfiho, Žigmunda Esterházyho, Štefana Zičiho, princa Eugena Savojského a ďalších). Obsahujú najmä informácie o vojenských aktivitách, následkoch bojov s Osmanmi, ale aj o zahraničnopolitických udalostiach najmä vojnového charakteru. Pôvodný dokument má podobu voľných listov zložených do listov poukladaných do 3 archívnych škatúľ obsahujúcich spolu 4140 strán s rozmermi 25 x 40 cm, pričom digitalizáty v tomto súbore zahŕňajú s. 1 – 1040 katalógu, ktoré sú uložené v 1. škatuli. Jazyk: maďarský (prevažujúci), latinský, nemecký, francúzsky. Písmo: moderné kurzívne písmo.The file contains digital scans (525 images) of the original manuscript document "Csákós Catalogue of Correspondence of the Koháry Family" from the IVth part of the family archive held in the collections of the State Archive in Banská Bystrica (Koháry – Coburg Collection (1241) 1321 – 1945) – 1st box. Its author, János József Csákós (1883 – 1957), compiled it between 1944 and 1945. The catalogue contains detailed summaries of letters of varying lengths: in some cases, it also includes excerpts or translations of the original letters in full, mostly in Hungarian, but also partially in German, Latin, and French. The content includes letters of a private and economic-administrative nature, as well as letters concerning matters of national importance. They were written between 1524 and 1825. The letters with economic content, usually written by stewards, estate managers, and prefects to their lords, discuss the management of estates, investments, construction projects, and also the situation of the serfs. Matters of national concern appear mainly in the letters of prominent politicians of the time (e.g., János and Miklós Pálfi, Zsigmond Esterházy, István Zichy, Prince Eugene of Savoy, and others). These letters primarily contain information about military activities, the consequences of battles with the Ottomans, and also about foreign political events, mostly of a wartime nature. The original document is in the form of loose sheets folded into leaves, stored in 3 archival boxes containing a total of 4140 pages with dimensions of 25 x 40 cm, while the digital scans in this file cover pages 1 – 1040 of the catalogue, which are stored in the 1st box. No full textUčebnica sa venuje teórii a praxi využitia DGBL v edukácii, pričom prináša komplexný pohľad na výhody, výzvy a osvedčené postupy implementácie tejto stratégie. Definuje základné pojmy a vymedzuje teoretické rámce, ktoré tvoria základ pre pochopenie DGBL. Nasleduje prehľad historického vývoja digitálnych hier vo vzdelávaní a ich prepojenia s teóriami učenia, ako sú behaviorizmus, kognitivizmus, konštruktivizmus a ďalšie. Okrem teoretického základu ponúka aj praktické rady a postupy pre študentov a pedagógov, ktorí chcú integrovať DGBL do svojho kurikula. Poskytuje odporúčania pre výber vhodných hier, návrh a realizáciu herne založených vzdelávacích aktivít a hodnotenie ich efektivity.
