No full textSúbor obsahuje snímky listov Jozefa Miloslava Hurbana adresovaných manželke Anne Hurbanovej, rod. Jurkovičovej v rokoch 1846 – 1886 a ich prepisy v prostredí Transkribu. Rukopisné listy boli prepísané manuálne alebo automaticky, a to pomocou starších verzií modelu na rozpoznávanie rukopisu J. M. Hurbana a finálneho modelu SKRIPTOR Model J. M. Hurban (ID: 57344, CER 5 %; vyvinutý: Alica Kurhajcová v rámci projektu SKRIPTOR). Automatické prepisy listov sú ponechané bez dodatočných úprav (s výnimkou úvodných a záverečných formúl listu, dátumov, prípadne vlastných mien a číslic). Neprepísané zostávajú občasné nemecké citáty (písané kurentom). Originály listov pochádzajú z osobných fondov J. M. Hurbana, Samuela Jurkoviča a rodiny Hurbanovcov uložených v Literárnom archíve Slovenskej národnej knižnice v Martine pod signatúrami: M23CH41; 32B52a; 10A240. Rozsah: 412 digitalizátov s prepisom (120 listov). Jazyk: slovenský. Písmo: latinská kurzíva. Handwritten letters were transcribed manually or automatically, using earlier versions of model for the recognition of Hurban´s manuscript and the final SKRIPTOR Model J. M. Hurban (ID: 57344, CER 5 %; developed by Alica Kurhajcová within the SKRIPTOR project). The automatic transcriptions of the letters are left unedited (with the exception of the opening and closing phrases of the letter, dates, or proper names and numerals). Occasional German quotations (written in Kurent) remain untranscribed. The originals of the letters come from the personal fonds of J. M. Hurban, Samuel Jurkovič and the Hurban family deposited in the Literary Archive of the Slovak National Library in Martin under the references: M23CH41; 32B52a; 10A240. Pp. 1-13.The present paper deals with the legal aspects of paid work performed by an employee in his/her home in the Slovak Republic, as a counterpart to unpaid domestic work. The aim of the present paper is not only the theoretical definition of the conceptual apparatus of the possibilities of performing paid work by an employee in the household but also the analysis of the institutes mentioned above and the changes in the legislation influenced by the COVID-19 pandemic. Subsequently, the present paper discusses the use of paid work in the above forms in the home in the post-Covid period. The results of the analysis demonstrate that there are several contingencies within the legal regulation of paid work performed in the employee's household, which have their specificities envisaged by the legislation and for which the legal regulation presupposes the fulfillment of different requisites and various scopes of rights and obligations of the parties to the employment relationship. Roč. 16, č. 1 (2024), s. 23-34.In the study, we pay attention to the model analysis of urbanonyms. The aim of the contribution is to describe, compare, and typologize the onymic models of standardized urbanonyms of two Slovak towns located in the Gemer region: Rožňava and Revúca. During the analysis, we focus attention on the nature of the model structure and the number of onymic models and types of onymic models of the investigated group of proper nouns, as well as on the types, frequency representation, and lexical rendering of the functional members characterizing the analyzed models. Uhorska) v rokoch 1838 – 1887 a ich prepisy v Transkribe. Rukopisné listy v slovenčine (resp. slovakizovanej češtine) boli automaticky prepísané pomocou modelu SKRIPTOR Model J. M. Hurban (ID: 57344, CER 5 %; vyvinutý: Alica Kurhajcová v rámci projektu SKRIPTOR). Na transkripciu listov v nemčine bol použitý verejný model Transkribus German handwriting M1 (ID: 35909; CER 4,7 %; vyvinutý: Transkribus Community); na odpis listu napísaný na stroji Transkribus OCR. Automatické prepisy listov sú ponechané bez dodatočných úprav (s výnimkou úvodných a záverečných formúl listu, dátumov, prípadne vlastných mien a číslic). The public model Transkribus German handwriting M1 (ID: 35909; CER 4.7%; developed by Transkribus Community) was used for transcription of the letters in German; Transkribus OCR was used for transcription of typewritten letter (copy). Investigating the relationship between the World Giving Index and the donations in Lions Clubs International Foundation

Vol. 4, no. 1 (2024), pp. 74-89.There is much research on how to improve the provision of local public services without having to increase municipal public spending. Latest trends stress out the role of citizens and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) that can provide various public services using private funding (donations) and volunteers. This paper analyses the relationship between the World Giving Index and donation in a selected NGO, the Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF). We investigate whether financial donations made to international humanitarian LCIF in different countries around the world influence the World Giving Index. Main methods used are panel regression and correlation analysis on the sample of 97 countries and 116,033 donors. The results suggest that donations made to LCIF have a positive impact on the World Giving Index. No full textSúbor obsahuje prepis pôvodnej historickej tlače Jána Amosa Komenského Orbis Pictus z roku 1798 v latinskom, maďarskom, nemeckom a českom jazyku. Na automatickú transkripciu dokumentu v nástroji Transkribus bol použitý model MIX print_antikva_kurziva_fraktura_svabach 11 (ID: 60244) s priemernou chybovosťou CER na overovacom súbore 1,00 %. Prepis bol verifikovaný a korigovaný podľa digitalizátov.The file contains a transcription of the old printed book Orbis Pictus by Jan Amos Komenský, published in 1798 in Latin, Hungarian, German and Czech languages. The Model MIX print_antikva_kurziva_fraktura_svabach 11 (ID: 60244) was used for automatic transcription of the document in the Transkribus software, an average Character Error Rate (CER) 1.00% on the validation set. Experiments to verify the properties of technical materials in the subject of technology in lower secondary education

Sonderausgabe 1 (2024), pp. 61-68.This paper pays attention to the selected design of experiments that will be part of an inquiry-oriented model of students' education in the subject of Technology in lower secondary education in the Slovak Republic. The proposed model of education reflects the actual long-term objectives of students' education in the subject of Technology, which, despite the content of the curriculum in the updated Educational Standard for the subject of Technology, have not yet been fulfilled. The proposed educational model includes worksheets for students, which contain experiments with a methodology on how to experiment. Students discover new knowledge through inquiry-based activities during the implementation of the experiment, which they evaluate after the worksheet while applying formative assessment of their activity. This assessment includes a student self-monitoring record where the student records his/her response during the experiment and a self-assessment of his/her understanding of the learning unit. The article presents two experiments out of the proposed collection of experiments, along with their implementation methodology. Haiku in Slovak poetry

Vol. 16, no 2 (2024), pp. 53-75.Haiku, the Japanese form of poetry from the 17th century, has not only spread around the globe, but is considered one of the most popular types of poetry ever. This paper briefly deals with haiku’s penetration into Slovak literature around 1989, when the publishing space opened up for less traditional poetic genres as well. Furthermore, it examines typical principles of haiku and explains their meaning, since they cannot be considered exclusively formal criteria. In particular, the paper focuses on the well-known (wabi, sabi, kigo), as well as less known aspects of Japanese aesthetics (shiori, karumi etc.) that are connected with the haiku genre. It brings attention to the significant relationship between poetry and religious-philosophical aspects that has been typical to haiku since its beginnings. In the core of the paper lies the question of the transformation of haiku principles in the Slovak environment that is demonstrated on specific, artistically compelling Slovak variants of haiku.VEGA 1/0061/22 Podoby a funkcie minimalizmu v súčasnej slovenskej poézi
