Children's ideas about symbols of Slovak statehoodof
In: Ad Alta : journal of interdisciplinary research. Hradec Králové : Magnanimitas, 2024. ISSN 1804-7890. Vol. 14, no. 1 (2024), pp. 103-107.The subjects of the research were authentic utterances of 5-6-year-old children. They represented individual conceptions of concepts of the pre-primary curriculum - symbols of Slovak statehood (capital, anthem, president, state, state flag, state emblem) in a narrower or broader context. The aim of the research was to find out the content meanings of narrower and broader conceptions of concepts in 5-6-yearold children, which are the content of the state curriculum. We hypothesized that at the children's exit from pre-primary education, their conceptions of concepts are more similar to scientific concepts. The study answers two research questions: do children's narrower and broader conceptions of concepts confirm theory? Which are the exceptional, non-repetitive children's conceptions of concepts? The research strategy was qualitative. Children's authentic utterances enabled short individual interviews to be obtained. Children's utterances were analyzed, categorized, and interpreted. Narrower conceptions are associated with a pre-scientific conception or a naive conception (45%). A broader context of conceptions emerged for 42% of the children in the research set. 13% of the statements were categorized as "don't know" responses. Exceptional conceptions of the symbols of Slovak statehood result from children's experiences in everyday life. If children perceived them in different contexts, they explained them by some features of objective reality. These concepts are still abstract for children at this age. According to the findings, it is questionable whether teaching children about symbols of statehood is meaningful in kindergarten when children's narrower conceptions of the concepts prevail at the exit.VEGA 1/0505/24 Detské prekoncepty o fenoménoch čitateľskej gramotnost
Dependent self-employment in Slovakia - opportunity or necessity?
In: Statistika : Statistics and Economy Journal. Praha : Český statistický úřad, 2024. ISSN 0322-788X. Vol. 104, no. 2 (2024), pp. 119-134.Recently, the European labour market has witnessed a shift in work structures, notably with self-employed individuals without employees. Many of these individuals are performing self-employment involuntarily, aiming for stable full-time employment. Due to insufficient income, instability, limited career prospects, and inadequate access to social protection, they are dissatisfied with their self-employed status. This dissatisfaction could potentially affect their overall job satisfaction and performance. The goal of this study, conducted on the basis of original primary survey among self-employed persons in Slovakia in 2022, is to explore the motivations influencing self-employment. Specifically, the research aims to examine the initial driving factors behind self-employment among 306 individuals, categorized into 194 traditional independent selfemployed and 112 economically dependent self-employed persons. Results indicate that among economically dependent self-employed persons, necessity-driven motives prevail, particularly necessity to enter family business, job loss, and employer-induced self-employment. For traditional independent self-employed persons, opportunity-driven motives predominate, notably pursuit of better working conditions, desire for independence, and efforts to earn more.VEGA 1/0366/21 Závislé podnikanie na Slovensku - reflexia, meranie a perspektív
An unlawfully obtained vs. unlawfully taken evidence in civil litigation
In: Legestic. Nitrianske Hrnčiarovce : HACCP Consulting, 2024. ISSN 2730-0641. Vol. 2 (2024), pp. 16-23.The academic paper analyses some interpretation problems associated with assessing unlawful evidence. In current legal practice, one of the most significant and debated issues in court proceedings is handling the evidence obtained. This question is all the more complex when the court finds itself in a situation where it has to decide on the admissibility and relevance of the evidence obtained unlawfully. A pressing question then is: How should the court deal with evidence obtained in violation of the law? Is it possible for such evidence to be recognised as admissible and to influence the decision on the merits, or is it the court's duty to reject such evidence unreservedly
Consumers in the environment of green marketing and greenwashing
In: Ekonomika a spoločnosť = The journal of economics and social research : vedecký časopis Ekonomickej fakulty UMB v Banskej Bystrici. Banská Bystrica : Vydavateľstvo Univerzity Mateja Bela Belianum, 2024. ISSN 2729-8213. Roč. 25, č. 1 (2024), s. 5-19.A significant problem that is emerging in the discursive practices of green marketing is the rise of greenwashing; companies providing irrelevant, overstated or false information about a product’s sustainable attributes. This raises a number of issues that have not yet been rigorously investigated. This study uses focus group discussions to provide one of the first assessments of the impact of greenwashing on consumers. Three semi-structured focus group interviews 14 participants aged 20-45 using reflective thematic analysis. The aim of the study is to gain first insights into how consumers perceive different green marketing strategies. Findings from the focus group discussions suggest that message source, green brands, brand perception and brand familiarity have a strong influence on perceived message credibility. The impact of disclosure of greenwashing strategies on purchase behaviour is influenced by several factors, but even in cases where it does not directly lead to a change in purchase behaviour, consumers believed that greenwashing information was important to their overall decision-making process. The observed deterioration in consumer trust in product brands in response to greenwashing undermines the potential of green marketing and contributes to reputational damage for manufacturers. More importantly from a practical perspective, this study shows evidence of the impact of greenwashing on credibility and opens ways for further research
Aplikácia zásady nemo tenetur u obvineného
In: Aktuálne otázky trestného práva v teórii a praxi : zborník príspevkov z 12. ročníka interdisciplinárnej celoštátnej vedeckej konferencie s medzinárodnou účasťou / rec. Peter Polák, Eva Szabová. 1. vyd. Bratislava : Akadémia Policajného zboru v Bratislave, 2024. ISBN 978-80-8293-020-0.

Teaching programming using eduScrum methodology
In: PeerJ Computer Science. San Diego : Peerj INC, 2024. ISSN 2376-5992. Vol. 10, no. 1 (2024), pp. 1-19.There are a large number of professions in the world today. Some professions are disappearing, and some new ones are emerging. However, they all have something in common: the need to manage them. Throughout its history, humanity has developed several constantly changing forms of management. For this reason, school absolvents must enter the labour market with skills already sufficiently developed, such as communication, cooperation, teamwork, responsibility, and the ability to plan their work. The article focuses on the issue of teaching programming through mobile applications and basic robotics through the innovative form of teaching-EduScrum. The EduScrum methodology is based on the agile software development method Scrum, which develops soft skills. The article describes our experience with this teaching in computer science classes. We established several hypotheses evaluated using descriptive statistics on a sample of 251 students. The main objective of the research is to verify whether teaching computer science in primary and secondary schools using the eduScrum methodology is more suitable than the classical-frontal teaching of computer science. The research showed that secondary school students preferred the eduScrum methodology more than traditional frontal teaching and the primary school students preferred traditional frontal teaching.KEGA 001UMB-4/2023 Implementácia blended learningu do prípravy profesijného bakalára z informatiky a budúcich učiteľov matematiky a informatik
Investigating the pressure distribution on uneven surfaces using an educational robot for development of ergonomic school furniture
In: Manufacturing Technology : Journal for Science, Research and Production. Ústí nad Labem : Univerzita Jana Evangelisty Purkyně v Ústí nad Labem, 2024. ISSN 1213-2489. Vol. 24, no. 1 (2024), pp. 98-103.The article presents the method of investigating the pressure distribution on uneven surfaces, used for the development of a new, modern series of school furniture that meets the relevant health, pedagogical and legal requirements. During the examination of pressure conditions on school chairs with a flexible tactile sensor, which was primarilly developed for this purpose, exact data on the immediate differences in contact pressures between the person sitting and the seat are obtained. Based on this information, it is then possible to optimally shape the seats during their design and subsequent production according to the age of the sitters and the needs of the organizational form of teaching from the point of view of the specific character of the teaching environment. Technical parameters of the flexible tactile sensor depend on the shape and number of electrodes, as well as on the conductive inks used, they are stated and dis-cussed within the article. Due to the large number of collected data, a robot, otherwise used in teaching, was used for obtaining of individual loading characteristics of the proposed sensor. At the end of the article, the results obtained by the statistical processing of the measurements are summarized and dis-cussed.TAČR FW01010217 Výzkum a vývoj inovativního školního nábytku s uplatněním senzorové techniky

The three steps sequential analyse study show some relation among geological setting and mineralogical composition of ores vs. bioavailability of metals. The best bioavailable metals at first three mentioned deposits are Cu and Cd (in one case, atr São Domingos As and Co). The results confirmed that the geological setting substantially influence the order of the bioavailability.VEGA 1/0220/23 Biodostupnosť potenciálne toxických prvkov na opustených Cu-ložiskác
Педагогічна граматика як фреймове поняття для досліджень у галузі методики навчання іноземних мов. Частина 17. Лінгвістична та педагогічна граматики
In: Vykladannja mov u vyščych navčaľnych zakladach osvity na sučasnomu etapi. Mižpredmetni zvyazky = Teaching languages at higher educational establishments at the present stage. Intersubject relations. Charkov : Charkivskij nacionaľnij universitet im. V. N. Karazina, 2024. ISSN 2073-4379. No. 45 (2024), pp. 105-116.The article deals with the correlation between linguistic (LG) and pedagogical (PG) grammars. The author considers LG as a set of data from all existing linguistic theories, and PG as information about the conditions and ways of performing grammatical actions in the process of their acquisition in the classroom. Analysing this general problem, the author outlines the range of questions that need to be answered in the course of his study. Is there a single theory of LG that can independently provide a basis for designing an adequate PG? What is the relationship between the amount and content of LG and PG information? Does the amount and type of PG depend on specific learning objectives and conditions? What are the best ways of presenting PG information for its effective use in the learning process? What factors influence the choice of presentation method? Should the structure of the PG reflect the structure of the LG? What factors influence the order in which grammatical phenomena are introduced in the process of acquiring the relevant grammatical actions in the classroom, and what determines the way in which such phenomena are grouped into organisational units of the course material (topics, units, etc.)? Having outlined the scope of these questions, in this paper the author analyses the potential of several LG models: traditional, structural, transformational and case grammar. In the authorʼs view, the traditional model of grammar, which has been used in language teaching for centuries, remains a good source of information about the surface structure of a language, but it may lack data about its functional aspect. Although structural grammar, which served as the basis for the audiolingual method, has been much criticised, the failures of this method are more related to the inadequacy of the underlying psychological model. While the potential of the transformational and case models of grammar is assessed positively, the paper considers them too complex to be used in the classroom without additional processing. Based on the conclusions, the author outlines the prospects for further research
