In: Specialusis ugdymas = Special education. Vilnius : Vilnius University, 2024. ISSN 2424-3299. No. 47 (2024), pp. 36-56.The research is focused on the self-evaluation of pre-school education institutions with an emphasis on the level of their inclusivity. The aim of the research was to verify the degree of inclusive direction of preschool education institutions in the context of the Index for Inclusion within selected localities through their self-evaluation. A questionnaire was created for pedagogical and professional staff to measure the level of inclusion of pre-school education institutions. As part of the research, a self-evaluation tool was verified with a focus on measuring the level of inclusivity in selected pre-school education institutions within the Slovak Republic. After processing the input and output self-evaluation of pre-school education institutions, it was confirmed that the results from the output self-evaluation of pre-school education institutions were statistically significantly better than the results from the input self-evaluation of pre-school education institutions only in one region.VEGA 1/0114/23 Možnosti inkluzívnej edukácie žiakov so špeciálnymi výchovno-vzdelávacími potrebam

In: Studia Psychologica : International Journal for Research and Theory in Psychological Sciences. Bratislava : Ústav experimentálnej psychológie SAV, 2024. ISSN 0039-3320. Roč. 66, č. 4 (2024), s. 286-298.Self-compassion has received considerable attention for promoting well-being and reducing psychopathology, and preliminary findings generate the hypothesis that self-compassion influences mental health indirectly through adaptive emotion regulation strategies. The cross-sectional study investigates the links between self-compassion, emotion regulation (cognitive reappraisal and expressive suppression), and depression/anxiety symptoms in 420 Slovak adolescents and young adults (Mage = 19.4, SD = 3.2). We examined the direct and indirect effects of self-compassion on depression/anxiety symptoms through cognitive reappraisal and expressive suppression as mediators. The bivariate correlation analysis confirmed that depression and anxiety were significantly negatively correlated with cognitive reappraisal and self-compassion. As predicted, depression and anxiety symptoms significantly and positively correlated with emotion suppression. Mediation analysis demonstrated an indirect effect of self-compassion on both depression and anxiety through a cognitive reappraisal. However, when controlling for the effect of depression, the mediation effect of cognitive reappraisal on the relationship between self-compassion and anxiety was eliminated. The study confirms that cognitive reappraisal affects the relationship between self-compassion and depression by regulating negative emotions. However, the protective role of self-compassion and cognitive reappraisal in reducing anxiety symptoms is questionable.VEGA 1/0569/22 Emočná flexibilita: stratégie regulácie emócií v meniacich sa podmienkach ako protektívne faktory psychického zdravi

In: Slovak journal of sport science : scientific peer-reviewed journal. Banská Bystrica : Univerzita Mateja Bela, Filozofická fakulta, 2024. ISSN 2453-7659. Vol. 9, no. suppl. (2024), pp. 73-83.Objective: The main aim of the study was to identify asymmetries between the dominant and non-dominant lower limb during horizontal deceleration in youth soccer players playing at different playing positions. The research sample consisted of players of the Slovak Football Federation academies in the U19 age category (n=228). We tested the horizontal deceleration of the players by 15-0-5 change-of-direction test, which was performed on a 1080 Sprint adjustable motorized resistance device (1080 Motion, Lidingö, Sweden). For statistical analysis, we used descriptive statistics methods, Shapiro-wilk test for normality of data distribution, one-factor ANOVA test, paired t-test, and Cohen's d to determine the effect size. We did not observe statistically significant asymmetries between players at each player position (forwards, wide midfielders, central midfielders, full backs, central defenders) during deceleration for dominant and non-dominant lower limbs. However, we observed the highest level of deceleration in the full backs, also for dominant (mean = 8.30 m/s² ± 0.82 m/s²) and non-dominant (mean = 8.28 m/s² ± 0.78 m/s²) lower limb. We observed the highest level of deceleration in the full backs, who are characterized by the highest number of decelerations in the game, precisely due to the frequent transition between phases of the game. These findings are directly applicable to the design of individual training programs with an emphasis on reducing injury incidence and increasing movement efficiency during deceleration

In: Acta aerarii publici : vedecký časopis Ekonomickej fakulty Univerzity Mateja Bela v Banskej Bystrici. Banská Bystrica : Vydavateľstvo Univerzity Mateja Bela - Belianum, 2024. ISSN 1336-8818. Roč. 21, č. 2 (2024), s. 91-107.The European banking sector is vital to the European Union (EU) for several reasons, given its central role in the economy, its influence on financial stability, and its contribution to the EU’s integration and development. European banking sectors provide essential credit to businesses, households, and governments, driving economic growth. The contribution attempts to measure and compare technical efficiency scores of 26 European banking systems in 2020 and 2021 by using Data Envelopment Analysis. This paper differs from the so far published literature, as it extends the application of a non-radial model and a super-efficiency model (Tone, 2001, 2002) on the whole banking systems of EU countries, not on individual banks or bank branches. Achieved results also reveal that in the year 2020, among 26 European banking systems under evaluation, 10 banking systems were efficient and the super-efficient was the banking sector of Luxembourg (score of efficiency 1.472). In the year 2021, 14 banking systems were efficient and the super-efficient was the banking sector of Croatia (score of efficiency 2.064). The implications of gained results are then drawn for managerial and regulatory purposes.VEGA 1/0442/22 Nové DEA modely pre použitie na regulačné účely vo finančných a sieťových odvetviac

ISSN 2374-9466. Vol. 12, no. 1 (2024), pp. 1-20.This study investigated the impact of the service-learning PLACE model on the social and civic competencies, and motivation and engagement in secondary school students. The methodological design was quasi-experimental with a nonequivalent control group. With the data collected from 232 secondary school students from five European countries, the following hypothesis was tested: students who engage in service-learning will have more developed social and civic competencies, higher motivation and engagement in school, and a lower tendency to drop out. Before and after the intervention, the measurement showed statistically significant differences between the groups in several traits and attributes related to social competency measures, social responsibility, personal values, academic perseverance, learning mindset, and overall student engagement and motivation. The results confirmed that service-learning can work effectively on social and civic competencies, to prevent social exclusion risks.Erasmus+ 621448-EPP-1-2020-1-BE-EPPKA3-IPI-SOC-IN Service Learning Upscaling Social Inclusion for Kids (SLUSIK

Roč. 12, č. 1 (2024), s. 185-193.Dobrovoľníctvo získava čoraz väčšiu relevanciu v spoločnosti, preto sa politické iniciatívy a mnohé organizácie snažia podnietiť zvýšenú angažovanosť dobrovoľníkov.

Inclusion measure for intuitionistic fuzzy sets and embedding of intervals

In: Notes on intuitionistic fuzzy sets. Sofia : Balgarska akademiya na naukite, 2024. ISSN 1310-4926. Vol. 30, no. 4 (2024), pp. 323-332.Comparison of measuring the degree of inclusion for two intuitionistic fuzzy sets (IF-sets) and measuring the degree of embedding of two intervals is considered. Embedding is understood as the classical inclusion of intervals. Inclusion of IF-sets is based on a specific order. In case that the nonmebership function does not exceed the membership function in an IF set, and we replace formally the IF-set by an interval-valued fuzzy set, then the inclusion of IF-sets corresponds to an embedding of interval-valued sets. The embedding measure for interval-valued fuzzy sets was defined previously and we compare the concept of embedding with the inclusion of IF-sets.VEGA 1/0124/24 Slovensko v kontexte dôchodkového indexu a indexu starnutia populácie - perspektíva budúcnost

Determinants of the development of social enterprises in the lagging region of Warmia and Mazury

In: Amfiteatru Economic : an Economic and Business Research Periodical. Bukurešť : Academiei de Studii Economice din București, 2024. ISSN 1582-9146. Vol. 26, no 66 (2024), pp. 568-588.Social enterprises in Europe are increasingly evolving into hybrid entities, simultaneously striving to attain both social and economic objectives. This transformation aligns them uniquely with the EU's Cohesion Policy, which seeks to reduce disparities and promote harmonious development across its regions. These hybrid enterprises can play a central role in this policy framework, particularly in regions marked by economic and social challenges. The main objective of the paper is to explore potential strategies to improve the performance of social enterprises operating in economically disadvantaged regions. The Warmia and Mazury region in Poland serves as a pertinent example in this context, marked by the highest unemployment rate in the nation alongside other notably weak economic indicators. These factors contribute to its designation as a “lagging region” by the European Union, thus making it a focal point for intervention under the Cohesion Policy. A key strategy suggested for regions facing these challenges involves fostering the growth of social enterprises, which are dedicated to addressing social issues through market-driven approaches. This study presents findings derived from a survey-based methodology. A comprehensive analysis was conducted on data sourced from 104 social enterprises in the Warmia and Mazury region, employing univariate descriptive statistical techniques. These techniques included the evaluation of frequency distributions, the calculation of percentages, means, standard deviations, and the application of nonparametric tests. The analysis provided insights that indicated that social enterprises that engaged in diversified business practices exhibited superior effectiveness compared to those with a narrower scope of activities. Furthermore, the perspectives of managers of these social enterprises were scrutinised, revealing a significant trend. The managers of diversified companies possessed a markedly optimistic outlook for future financial performance. However, it is important to note a critical limitation observed in the study – even the enterprises that demonstrated success within their local region faced challenges in replicating this success in other areas, suggesting a potential constraint in the scalability of their business models
