Harmonizing nature and tech: exploring the fusion of mobile technology in outdoor adventure

S. 153-157.Mobile technology (tablets, smartphones) may provide students with access to educational resources (maps, navigation tools), enriching the outdoor adventure experience and facilitating the learning; therefore, the present study was aimed at exploring the fusion of mobile technology in outdoor adventure (in students). Instrument of survey (3 questions) was carried out 2 months (Jan. - Feb., 2024), through the sampling (purposive) of 1 624 (100%) students: (i) Male (846, 52.10 %); (ii) Female (778, 47.90%). Descriptive (percentage - %, arithmetic mean - x̄ ) and inferential (chi-square test - x2) statistics was used to evaluate the data. 62. 80% (1020) of students use mobile technology in outdoor adventure; in contrast to 30.48% (495) (not using) (p ˃ .05). 36.82% (598) of students use additional devices of mobile technology (mobile apps) in outdoor adventure (p ˂ .01). 8.78 % (142) of students (only) are aware of apps, aimed at discovering the natural attractions (p ˃ .05). Exploring the fusion of mobile technology (apps) in outdoor adventure is students may promote the learning (experiential), engagement and environmental awareness, making it an important aspect of educational and/or outdoor recreation programs

Vol. 57 (2024), pp. 82-96.This scientific paper delves into the notable shift in Slovak labor law, which has departed from its historically strong emphasis on safeguarding the rights of employees, traditionally seen as the weaker party in labor relations. Until recently, this emphasis served as a substantial barrier against the globalizing and standardizing influences of employers. The paper identifies two key factors driving recent legislative "reforms" in Slovakia's labor regulation. These changes are rooted in the transposition of European labor law directives while also embracing a more liberal political perspective regarding the nature of labor relations. This shift involves moving away from rigid employee protection and adopting the concept of "increased flexibility" in employee work as a remedy for addressing the post-Covid-19 economic challenges. The previous emphasis on employee or employee representative involvement in defining working conditions, wages, and important employer decisions regarding work organization has shifted. This shift allows employers to act unilaterally, contingent on fulfilling new information obligations towards employees. However, the recent labor law reforms run counter to this historical legal tradition. No full textSúbor obsahuje snímky listov Jozefa Miloslava Hurbana adresovaných príbuzným (svokrovi Samuelovi Jurkovičovi, švagrinej Emílii Jurkovičovej a jej manželovi Jurajovi; švagrovi Karolovi Žarnovickému; neveste Ide Hurbanovej, rod. Dobrovičovej a zaťom Dionýzovi Fejovi, Viktorovi Lorencovi a Pavlovi Royovi) v rokoch 1849 – 1885 a ich prepisy v prostredí Transkribu. Rukopisné listy v slovenčine (resp. slovakizovanej češtine) boli prepísané manuálne alebo automaticky pomocou modelu SKRIPTOR Model J. M. Hurban (ID: 57344, CER 5 %; vyvinutý: Alica Kurhajcová v rámci projektu SKRIPTOR). Na transkripciu listov v nemčine (M23CH17) bol použitý verejný model Transkribus German handwriting M1 (ID: 35909; CER 4,7 %; vyvinutý: Transkribus Community); na odpisy listov napísané na stroji (29G9) Transkribus OCR. Automatické prepisy listov sú ponechané bez dodatočných úprav (s výnimkou úvodných a záverečných formúl listu, dátumov, prípadne vlastných mien a číslic). Originály listov pochádzajú z osobných fondov J. M. Hurbana, Samuela Jurkoviča, Svetozára Hurbana Vajanského, rodiny Hurbanovcov a Alberta Pražáka uložených v Literárnom archíve Slovenskej národnej knižnice v Martine pod signatúrami: 10A1; 10A23; 29G9; 32B61 – 32B62(a); 138R7; M23CH17; M23CH20; M23I1; M23I13; M23I54. Rozsah: 248 digitalizátov s prepisom (104 listov). Jazyk: slovenský, nemecký. Písmo: latinská kurzíva, kurent, strojopis. Automaticky prepísaný súbor listov je výstupom z riešenia projektu APVV-19-0456 SKRIPTOR – Inovatívne sprístupnenie písomného dedičstva Slovenska prostredníctvom systému automatickej transkripcie historických rukopisov (2020 – 2024).The file contains images of letters of Jozef Miloslav Hurban addressed to relatives (father-in-law Samuel Jurkovič, sister-in-law Emilia Jurkovičová and her husband Juraj; brother-in-law Karol Žarnovický; daughter-in-law Ida Hurbanová Dobrovičová and sons-in-law Dionýz Feja, Viktor Lorenc and Pavol Roy) in 1849 – 1885 and their transcriptions in Transkribus. Handwritten letters in Slovak (or Slovakized Czech) were transcribed manually or automatically using the SKRIPTOR Model J. M. Hurban (ID: 57344, CER 5 %; developed by Alica Kurhajcová within the SKRIPTOR project). The Transkribus German handwriting M1 public model (ID: 35909; CER 4.7%; developed by Transkribus Community) was used for transcription of the letters in German (M23CH17); Transkribus OCR was used for transcription of typewritten letters (29G9). The automatic transcriptions of the letters are left unedited (with the exception of the opening and closing phrases of the letter, dates, or proper names and numerals). The originals of the letters come from the personal fonds of J. M. Hurban, Samuel Jurkovič, Svetozár Hurban Vajanský, the Hurban family and Albert Pražák deposited in the Literary Archive of the Slovak National Library in Martin under the references: 10A1; 10A23; 29G9; 32B61 – 32B62(a); 138R7; M23CH17; M23CH20; M23I1; M23I13; M23I54. Number of digitized documents with transcription: 248 (104 letters). Language: Slovak, German. Script: Latin cursive, Kurrent, Typescript. The diaconal work of sisters Kristína and Mária Royová - an example of the link between Christian anthropology and social work

Vol. 15, no. 1 (2024), pp. 1-17.Considering the intermingling of problems in today’s multi-crisis environment, this text explores the possibilities of intertwining social work and pastoral care. In the search for effective approaches, we find dynamic patterns in the activities of the Royová (Roy) sisters. Their diaconal work is an important source for social work history illustrating how social work took the form of diaconal (charity) work with a rich pastoral reach at the time. Their activities represent a natural link between Christian anthropology and social work. This study mainly investigates the Christian (spiritual) basis of the social and charitable activities of the Royová sisters, the beginnings of the institutionalisation of social and charitable work in Slovakia and Serbia through the organisations founded by the Royová sisters, the Christian-social interpersonal contribution of the Roy sisters to the development of Slovak and European social work personified by their cooperation with several personalities of social and charitable work at the international, national, and local levels, and the contribution of the Roy sisters in the creation of women’s, volunteer, and international roots of social and charitable work in Slovakia and Europe. In their responses to the needs of their environment, we find significant stimuli for pastoral theology, which is supposed to respond to the needs of the multi-crisis environment of today
