Gender similarities and differences in selected personality characteristics of (future) interpreters

Vol. 5, no. 2 (2024), pp. 90-102.The paper presents the results of research on the selected personality characteristics of professional interpreters and interpreting students, with a specific focus on gender differences. The characteristics studied were anxiety (measured by STAI) and achievement motivation (measured by AMI). The results of our research show that women (n=33) are characterized by higher anxiety compared to men (n=10). Regarding motivation, women (n=31) in our research were also characterized by statistically significant higher pride in productivity, status orientation, and competitiveness compared to men (n=10). However, these differences in personality characteristics do not cause significant differences in interpreting performance between men and women

Nielenže bol prijatý zákon č. 659/2007 Z. z. o zavedení meny euro v Slovenskej republike a o zmene a doplnení niektorých zákonov, ale zároveň došlo k zrušeniu množstva právnych predpisov a množstvo právnych predpisov sa novelizovalo. Menové právo tak ako bolo na Slovensku chápané do roku 2009 sa zásadne zmenilo a nadobudlo iný rozmer. V súčasnosti už možno na Slovensku hovoriť skôr o európskom menovom práve

No full textThe scientific monograph of a research character extends the scientific (theoretical-research) platform with knowledge about organization supervision and models of organization supervision and thus creates a comprehensive concept of organization supervision. Based on the identified research findings, the aim was also to develop models of organization supervision that are realistically used in supervision practice, and then to conceptualize these findings for the field of supervision in social work. The efficacy and safety of the training process in sumo through autogenic training for professional wrestlers

Considering the high demands for physical and psychological preparedness in sumo, the implementation of comprehensive approaches to training becomes relevant. Such an approach ensures the improvement of sports results and the health maintenance of athletes. The study is aimed at analyzing the effectiveness of autogenic training in the educational and training process among experienced sumo wrestlers.
Materials and Methods. The analysis is based on the observation of 10 experienced sumo wrestlers from the "Adrenaline" sports club in Kharkiv, Ukraine. Methods used to assess the psycho-emotional and physical state of athletes included the SAN test, heart rate measurement, the Stange and Genchi tests, reaction time measurement, and the Romberg test. Mastery of autogenic training techniques took place in a group over 5 weeks at the end of each training session. After the first week, a visualization technique was added to the autogenic training. For the analysis and visualization of the obtained data it was used the integrated development environment PyCharm Community Edition. The programming code was written in Python. The experiment was conducted in Kharkiv (Ukraine), which has been located in a war zone since February 2022. The requirements of the military administration for ensuring the safety of the experiment participants were observed.
Results. Significant improvements were observed in the psycho-emotional state of athletes, including a reduction in anxiety levels by 6.5 points (p<0.01) and an improvement in reactionmetry indicators by 3.4 cm (p < 0.05). Improvements were also noted in the well-being, mood, and activity of athletes. At the end of the experiment, no significant changes were observed in heart rate and the Stange and Genchi tests. A noticeable improvement was shown in the Genchi test, although these changes did not reach statistical significance. The results of the reactionmetry significantly improved, confirming the effectiveness of the training in enhancing the athletes' reaction speed.
Conclusions. The study confirmed that autogenic training is an effective means of improving not only the psycho-emotional state but also the physical readiness of sumo wrestlers. The implementation of such methods can contribute to increasing the safety and effectiveness of the educational and training process, as well as achieving higher sports results while maintaining the health of athletes

ISBN 978-80-228-3441-4. S. 217-223.Cieľom štúdie je zamerať sa na zmeny obsahu inovatívneho vyučovania zimných sezónnych činností v zmysle kuríkulárnej reformy na základných školách. Zmena inovatívneho vyučovania zimných sezónnych činností ako je zjazdové lyžovanie a snowboarding má značný vplyv na ďalší rozvoj pohybových aktivít žiakov na základných školách. Do výskumu bolo zapojených 251 učiteľov a učiteliek zo základných škôl v stredoslovenskom regióne, ktorí sa podieľajú na vyučovaní zimných sezónnych činností v rámci školskej telesnej a športovej výchovy. Výskum sme realizovali za pomoci dotazníka. Z výsledkov výskumu vyplýva, že 24,58 % učiteliek označilo svoje teoretické vedomosti zo snowboardingu za veľmi vysoké a 38,24 % učiteľov označuje svoje teoretické vedomosti zo snowboardingu za vysoké a zároveň sú pripravený na inovatívne vyučovanie tejto zimnej sezónnej činnosti. Pri vyhodnotení χ2 testu nezávislosti sme zistili štatisticky významný rozdiel v teoretických vedomostiach zo snowboardingu medzi mužmi a ženami na hladine významnosti p<0,05. Diversity and distribution of chironomids in Central European ponds

Vol. 14, no. 5 (2024), pp. 1-11.Ponds are common freshwater habitats in the European landscape that substantially contribute to local and regional biodiversity. Chironomids often dominate invertebrate communities in ponds but are usually disregarded in ecological studies due to relatively complicated taxonomy and identification issues. We present a comprehensive overview of the chironomid diversity in 246 ponds spanning a wide range of conditions extending from the Pannonian Plain to the Carpathians. Altogether, we recorded 225 taxa including 192 species from six subfamilies (Podonominae, Tanypodinae, Diamesinae, Prodiamesinae, Orthocladiinae and Chironominae). However, the chironomid taxa inventory is far from complete and about 16% of the total diversity of pond-dwelling chironomids remains undetected. Chironomid alpha diversity showed a significant unimodal pattern along the elevation gradient with the highest number of taxa per pond expected around 790 m a.s.l. Gamma diversity also peaked in mid-elevations (600–800 m), and the common chironomid taxa partitioned the 2100-m long altitudinal gradient relatively evenly. The heterogeneity of chironomid communities among ponds measured as beta diversity was significantly higher in elevations below 800 m. Temperature and the proportion of surrounding forests significantly influenced alpha diversity of chironomid communities, while urban land cover and pond size had no significant effect. Ponds with a mean annual air temperature of approximately 4.8°C and a low proportion of surrounding forests are expected to harbour the most diverse chironomid communities. Our study showed that chironomids represent a very diverse and often exceptionally rich group of pond-dwelling macroinvertebrates. Given the high diversity and broad range of occupied niches, chironomids should not be overlooked in pond ecology studies. Tento voľný pohyb nepriniesol len pozitíva, ale nepochybne môžeme poukázať aj na negatíva, spočívajúce v zjednodušení páchania trestnej činnosti na nadnárodnej úrovni. Vyhnúť sa zodpovednosti za spáchanie trestného činu je v rámci voľného pohybu osôb v Európskej únii omnoho jednoduchšie. Aj to je dôvodom prečo sa má právna úprava v trestných veciach jednotlivých členských štá- tov stále zdokonaľovať. Nevyhnutná je spolupráca justičných a policajných orgánov jednotlivých členských štátov Európskej únie, pričom je v tejto oblasti potrebné poukázať na účinný inštitút a to európsky zatýkací rozkaz. Príspevok je venovaný európskemu zatýkaciemu rozkazu, zásade špeciality pri vydávaní osoby pre trestné konanie vedené v inom štáte a výnimkám z tejto zásady. Poukazuje na problémy neúplného či nesprávneho prebratia Rámcového rozhodnutia Rady o európskom zatykači a postupoch odovzdá- vania osôb medzi členskými štátmi. Príspevok zároveň venuje pozornosť judikatúre slovenských súdov, ale neopomína ani judikatúru Súdneho dvora Európskej únie
The position of sports games in the views of teachers at the 2nd level of elementary schools in Prešov region

S. 98-109.Cieľom príspevku je analyzovať preferencie učiteľov telesnej a športovej výchovy (TŠV) na 2. stupni základných škôl v Prešovskom kraji so zameraním na vyučovanie športových hier a iných športových aktivít. Skúmaný súbor tvorilo 308 učiteľov TŠV (195 mužov a 113 žien). Zber dát prebiehal prostredníctvom neštandardizovaného dotazníka vlastnej konštrukcie, ktorý bol vytvorený pre potreby projektu KEGA č. 005UMB-4/2023. Analýza odpovedí poukázala na významné rozdiely v preferenciách medzi mužmi a ženami. Muži uprednostňovali športové hry, najmä futbal, zatiaľ čo ženy preferovali širšie spektrum športových aktivít, vrátane volejbalu, atletiky a gymnastiky. Rozdiely v preferenciách boli štatisticky významné (p < 0,01), čo naznačuje potrebu rodovo špecifického prístupu pri plánovaní a výučbe telesnej a športovej výchovy. Zistenia poukazujú na nutnosť prispôsobenia učebných osnov a metodických prístupov v telesnej a športovej výchove, aby reflektovali rôznorodé preferencie učiteľov a podporovali efektívnu a inkluzívnu výučbu. Vol. 25, no. 3 (2024), pp. 149-155.The aim of the study was to investigate and highlight the preferences of physical and sport education teachers in teaching winter seasonal physical activities. The survey involved 653 primary school teachers who annually participate in teaching winter seasonal physical activities. To obtain the necessary information, we used a custom-designed questionnaire for primary school teachers, focusing on questions related to favourite winter sports, preferred forms of organizing winter seasonal physical activities, and materials used during these activities. Through statistical analysis (Chi-square), we found a gender difference in the preferred form of participation in winter seasonal physical activities. On the basis of the obtained results, we can state that most of the primary school teachers, 86.68%, who are involved in teaching winter seasonal physical activities prefer downhill skiing in their free time and are of the same opinion, that ski training is popular among pupils and they like to participate in ski training organized by the school This study was conducted within the KEGA grant task 032UMB-4/2022 Innovative teaching materials for teachers of physical and sport education in primary schools with a focus on winter seasonal physical activities.KEGA 032UMB-4/2022 Inovatívne učebné materiály pre učiteľov telesnej a športovej výchovy na základných školách so zameraním na zimné sezónne pohybové činnost
