In: Global and local educational projects / rec. Anna Baprowska, Marcin Chrzanowski. 1. vyd. Krakov : Uniwersytet Pedagogiczny im. Komisji Edukacji Narodowej w Krakowie, 2024. ISBN 978-83-68020-36-6. Pp. 77-91.Out-of-school learning has been reviewed (Şen, A. İ. et al., 2021) as a promising way of teaching Science actively due to its ability to provide students with firsthand experience. Another driving force of education is motivation. It can stimulate a considerable part of students’ abilities and help lead to achieving desired educational aims. In this contribution, we provide partial results of evaluating students’ motivational orientation concerning learning in out-of-school settings. The background for the study is an Erasmus+ project, where partners from four countries (Turkey, Slovakia, Czechia and Germany) aimed to develop an out-of-school learning curriculum for teacher training study programmes. Herein, we present the Slovak motivation data gained while performing and evaluating two specific activities proposed for the following out-of-school setting: (i) education in the pharmacy and (ii) education in the distillery (Skoršepa et al., 2022). The research includes data from 152 grammar school students (average age M = 15.76). The renowned psychological tools MSLQ and IMI were used to measure students’ motivation.Hacettepe University (Erasmus+ Project) 2019-1-TR01-KA203-074692 Developing an out-of-school learning curriculum for teacher education program

In: Šport a rekreácia 2024 : zborník vedeckých prác / rec. Ivan Uher, Robert Rozim ... [et al.]. 1. vyd. Nitra : Univerzita Konštantína Filozofa v Nitre, 2024. ISBN 978-80-558-2171-9. S. 177-185.Našim primárnym cieľom bolo analyzovať vnútorné zaťaženie hráčov UMB Hockey Teamu v sezóne 2023/2024 z hľadiska hráčskych postov a hráčskych funkcií. Zaujímalo nás, či sa špecializácia herných postov a funkcií odzrkadlí na vnútornom zaťažení hráčov ľadového hokeja. V jednom zápase sme sledovali 9 útočníkov, 6 obrancov a 1 brankára. Spolu sa na zbere dát zúčastnilo 32 hráčov. Hráči UMB Hockey Teamu mali v bežnom súťažnom mikrocykle 5 tréningov na ľade, 2 tréningy mimo ľadu pod vedením kondičného trénera a 1 zápas. Sporttestre značky Polar sme medzi hráčmi v každom zápase rotovali, aby sme zabezpečili dostatok dát od zo všetkých postov a funkcií. Ako sledované ukazovatele sme si zvolili údaje o priemernej srdcovej frekvencii (AVG SF%), maximálnej srdcovej frekvencií (MAX SF%) a spálených kcal. Na spracovanie údajov o srdcovej frekvencií sme využili percentuálne vyjadrenie z maximalnej vyrátanej srdcovej frekvencie hráča. Na vyrátanie maximálnej srdovej frekvencie systém využil rovnicu SFmax = 220 – vek. Po vykonání ANOVA, ktorý preukázal štatistickú vyznamnosť sme ďalej zisťovali rozdiely pomocou Tukeyho post hoc testu. Ten nám preukázal signifikantne vyššie zaťaženie brankárov ako u korčuliarov vo všetkých ukazovateľoch (brankári – obrancovia: avg sf% p < 0,0001, max sf% p = 0,0136 , kcal p < 0,0001 , brankári – útočníci: avg sf% p = 0,0011, max sf% p = 0,0051, kcal p < 0,0001 ). Rozdiel medzi obrancami a útočníkmi nebol štatisticky významný v žiadnom sledovanom. Pri analýze ukazovateľov z hľadiska funkcií sme zistili, že najväčšie rozdiely priemernej SF boli medzi obrancami 2. formácie a útočníkmi 1. formácie (p < 0,0001), obrancami 4. formácie a útočníkmi 1. formácie (p < 0,0001), útočníkmi 1. formácie a útočníkmi 3. formácie (p < 0,0001). Najvýraznejšie rozdiely maximálnej SF sa ukázali medzi útočníkmi 1. formácie a útočníkmi 3. formácie (p < 0,0001), medzi útočníkmi 1. formácie a útočníkmi 4. formácie (p < 0,0001) a medzi brankármi a útočníkmi 4. formácie (p = 0,0001). Najvýraznejšie rozdiely analýzou spálených kcal sa ukázali medzi brankármi a útočníkmi 3. formácie (p < 0,0001), útočníkmi 4. formácie a brankármi (p < 0,0001), obrancami 4. formácie a útočníkmi 1. formácie (p < 0,0001), medzi obrancami 2. formácie a brankármi (p < 0,0001) a medzi obrancami 4. formácie a brankármi (p < 0,0001). Tieto zistenia môžu priniesť významné zistenia pre vytváranie tréningových stratégií a rozvoj hráčov

In: Discover computing. Dordrecht : Springer Nature, 2024. ISSN 2948-2992. Vol. 27, no 1 (2024), pp. 1-15.One of the most significant problems related to Big Data is their analysis with the use of various methods from the area of descriptive statistics or machine and deep learning. This process is interesting in both—static datasets containing various data sources which do not change over time, and dynamic datasets collected with the use of ambient data sources, which measure a number of attribute values over long periods. Since access to actual dynamic data systems is demanding, the focus of this work is put on the design and implementation of a framework usable in a simulation of data streams, their processing and subsequent dynamic predictive and visual analysis. The proposed system is experimentally verified in the context of a case study conducted on an environmental variable dataset, which was measured with the use of a real-life sensor network

    EU countries tax evasion clustering

In: Statistika : Statistics and Economy Journal. Praha : Český statistický úřad, 2024. ISSN 0322-788X. Vol. 104, no. 1 (2024), pp. 5-15.The problem of tax evasion is becoming more and more prominent, and it is causing large losses in individual state budgets. However, European policies have taken significant steps to eliminate them over the last two decades. National policies also contribute to reducing the estimated extent of tax evasion, as measured by Schneider's MIMIC model. However, these tendencies are not the same in individual countries. Therefore, in our paper, we try to find pattern in tax evasion time trajectories of European Union countries and thus to create homogenous clusters that include countries with similar tax evasion situation. To meet our goal, we use panel data clustering method on our data with information about tax evasion of EU countries from 2000 to 2019. As a next step, we compare created cluster from the perspective of quality indicators of public institutions.VEGA 1/0150/21 Testovanie ziskovosti produktov dôchodkového poisteni

Flexible expression of emotions in relation to symptoms of depression and anxiety in emerging adulthood

    No full text
In: Psychological application and trends 2024. 1. vyd. Lisabon : inScience Press, 2024. ISBN 978-989-35106-6-7. ISSN 2184-2205. Pp. 369-371.In the realm of mental health research, understanding the interplay between emotion expression and psychological well-being remains a crucial endeavor. The theory suggests that suppression of emotion expression is generally a maladaptive emotion regulation strategy, but empirical studies are ambiguous about this claim. Recently, the concept of flexibility in emotion expression has been studied to overcome the limitations of rigidity connected with the concept of suppression of emotion expression. The purpose of this study was to explore associations between suppression of emotion expression, flexible emotion expression and symptoms of depression and anxiety. We administered self-report scales to participants (N = 836) in emerging adulthood to measure suppression of emotion expression, flexible expression and suppression of emotion, and the presence of symptoms of depression and anxiety. We found that the presence of depression and anxiety symptoms was weakly positively related to suppression of emotion expression, but weakly negatively related to flexible suppression of emotion expression. We discuss the results in terms of assessing the adaptive nature of emotion regulation strategies.VEGA 1/0569/22 Emočná flexibilita: stratégie regulácie emócií v meniacich sa podmienkach ako protektívne faktory psychického zdravi

In: Slovenská reč. Bratislava : Slovenská akadémia vied, 2024. ISSN 0037-6981. Roč. 89, č. 2 (2024), s. 105-122.This paper presents the results and clarifies the scientific contribution of A. Habovštiak’s confrontational Slavic research focused on the lexicon Slovak dialects in the Slavic context, which he presented in numerous articles published in domestic and foreign scientific journals and proceedings and later in a summarized form in the monograph Zo slovensko-slovanských lexikálnych vzťahov (so zreteľom na lingvistickú geografiu) [From Slovak-Slavic Lexical Relations (with Regard to Linguistic Geography)] from 1993. With an emphasis on the Slovak-Slavic context, we can summarise that the author significantly contributed to the discussions about defining the place of Slovak in the group of Slavic languages, shed light on its West Slavic character and its relations with South Slavic and East Slavic languages, pointed to the peculiar development of the Slovak lexical fund and on the special continuity of the Slovak dialect lexicon with its Proto-Slavic linguistic origin
