    Can You See Me Now?

    No full text
À travers l’analyse de Can You See Me Now ? After software art, interactive installations and net art, mobile technologies (GPS, phones, pads, etc.) are at the heart of artistic and creative preoccupations since the beginning of the last decade. The defining element of mobile technologies is their ability to generate, reproduce, receive and/or exchange informations in real time and at a distance. Thus, a new relationship to our space and reality inevitably emerged and has since been often termed “Mixed Reality”. Through an analysis of Can You See Me Now ? (Blast Theory, 2001), this article proposes a reflexion about the way information is exchanged between the “real” and “virtual” spaces and their discursive value within the work. It will also examine the relationship between the mixed space which is constitutive of the work and the space of its exposition

While the majority of internet users have little or no technical skills, we try to see to what extent the ways of using an online social network are original. We present an analysis of 742 messages posted in four Facebook groups after unexpected deaths. The results put forward that, although the contributors in the groups of mourning do not redefine the application itself, a certain creativity emerge in terms of social practices. Indeed, added to the traditional rituals, the online communication favored both by the mediatization of the interface, and the mediation created by the fact of addressing the deceased directly seems to participate to the main contributors’ mourning process

La posibilidad del arte en agentes artificiales

    No full text
Given the advanced development of Artificial Intelligence (A.I) in our day, the questions about it and its scope have not been expected. One of these questions is about the possibility that these artificial agents manage to produce works that can be considered artistic. In this sense, this article reflects on this problem, based on three specific moments, namely, the concept of intelligence exposed by Alan Turing, and its extension to the machines; Gilles Deleuze's philosophical reflections on art, and finally, some observations about the contribution of Deleuzian philosophy to the development of the A.I. in relation to artistic production. Thus, rather than providing a clear answer that seeks to resolve the question, the article in general aims to establish a dialogic framework in which both parties, technology and philosophy, can enrich each other

Ce que font les données au journalisme

    No full text
Through the prism of design, this article proposes to study how data transforms the practice of journalism. Although it does not constitute a major break in journalism, the introduction of data into the fabric of information is not neutral for the profession: it modifies the information production frame (Gitlin, 1980; Hackett, 1984). By favorizing on the one hand a new investigative capacity of the journalist and on the other a new rhetoric, data journalism exacerbates an old journalism’s dilemma: the objectivity of information faced with the subjectivity of those who shape it
