The developed Faculty Evaluation Software demonstrated high effectiveness and acceptability among stakeholders in SUCs. Faculty respondents validated revised teaching effectiveness statements, ensuring alignment with modern pedagogical practices. IT experts rated the software “very highly acceptable” in functional suitability, usability, and compatibility, and “highly acceptable” in other ISO/IEC 25010 attributes. User acceptance evaluation using the UTAUT framework showed strong performance, with supervisors rating the system significantly higher than students in performance expectancy, social influence, and facilitating conditions. These results confirm the software’s potential to modernize faculty evaluation through enhanced accuracy, transparency, and efficiency
Effect of Video-Recorded Replay on Physical Education Performance: Input to Physical Education Instructional Approach
This study determined the effect of video-recorded replay on the physical education performance of college students at Northern Iloilo State University. Seventy-two (72) randomly selected sec-ond-year Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSCS) and Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) students were assigned to control and experimental groups using the Solomon Four-Group Design. The control group received instruction and practice, while the experimental group received instruction and video-recorded replay. The results showed significant improvement in the physical education performance of both groups. However, video-recorded replay did not demonstrate statistically superior outcomes. This research highlights the instructional value of video-based feedback as a supplementary teaching strategy
Disaster Preparedness of Selected Residents in Coastal Area in Ternate Cavite
The study assessed the disaster preparedness of selected residents in coastal areas of Naic, Cavite. It examined their demographic profile and levels of preparedness in forecasting and warning, training and education, emergency planning, and property protection. It also aimed to determine the significant relationships among these variables. The study involved 150 selected residents from Barangays Bucana, San Jose, and San Juan 1, which are located along the coast and are prone to calamities such as typhoons, floods, and storm surges. Findings revealed that residents exhibited an overall "Good" level of preparedness across various aspects, including forecasting and warning, training and education, emergency planning, and property protection. The strongest areas of preparedness were forecasting and warning, as well as property protection, where residents demonstrated high engagement in securing their homes and responding to emergency alerts. However, weaker aspects of disaster preparedness were identified, including limited knowledge of first aid, low mental health awareness, and minimal participation in training programs—highlighting the need for targeted interventions. Additionally, barriers such as limited access to medical services during disasters and gaps in emergency drills indicate areas for improvement in disaster response planning
Mapping the Cultural Landscape of Sibalom, Antique: A Sectoral Study for Heritage Management
The Municipality of Sibalom, Antique, strives to protect its vital cultural heritage, upheld by the ideals of RA No. 10066, the “National Cultural Heritage Act of 2009.” Though efforts such as the Municipal Tourism, Culture, and the Arts Council (MTCAC) and the successful 2023 NCCA submission of 42 cultural properties are in place, the municipality has very daunting challenges in terms of heritage conservation. Key findings present a critical shortage of physical facilities for the preservation of heritage; Sibalom has no permanent museum, archive, or library building to date, which prevents the safe storage and display of material culture. Documentation and inventory processes are still not complete, and a significant shortage of awareness among the young generation devalues heritage appreciation. Additionally, the 17 heritage sites that were identified are strongly prone to a range of natural hazards. All 17 locations are vulnerable to ground shaking, while certain locations such as Balsa Making and the location near the Sibalom River are highly susceptible to flooding and liquefaction. Sibalom Natural Park and Camp Patria Adorada have high susceptibility for landslides due to rain. To manage these concerns, the research suggests the creation of a Cultural Heritage Sub-office and a separate preservation facility. Suggestions include extensive documentation, the utilization of digital technology (e.g., 3D modeling), acquisition of sustainable sources of funding, and building disaster resilience. These strategic thrusts are fundamental to the protection of Sibalom\u27s cultural resources and ensuring that these remain meaningful and lasting for generations to come
Woven Livelihoods: Analyzing the Cultural and Economic Value of Bamboo Weaving in Rural Communities
Bamboo weaving is a culturally and economically important practice that affects the rural communities of the Philippines. This study describes and analyzes the different bamboo woven products from two communities, focusing on the socio-cultural functions and economic considerations that include traditional knowledge of bamboo weaving in Antique in Central Philippines. While bamboo weaving may still bring meaning to local economies or have connections to heritage practice, the documentation of these products and knowledge systems is unknown to the province. This qualitative study documented the various bamboo woven products and narratives from local weavers and their livelihood experiences. The results showed that there were nine major products produced by the communities, namely makan or amakan, alat, bakuwa, bakag, pugadan, buyos, dawin, tabungos and taun. The research centered on five themes: availability of raw materials; step-by-step production processes; capitalization and start-up costs, income that is derived from the finished products, marketing trends, some challenges, including limited access to markets; environmental factors (land); and lack of institutional support. The findings suggest that bamboo weaving can provide both economic sustainability, as well as be a medium for Indigenous knowledge, and environmental care. The study pointed out the significant role of the Local Government Unit (LGU) such as in undertaking programs like the establishment of a School for Living Traditions (SLT) and promoting weaving as potential local business to both assure cultural continuity and economic viability to weavers
AIDeM: Artificial Intelligence-based Dengue Mosquito Catching Device
Dengue, carried by Aedes Aegypti, has been a world problem that caused severe fevers and even death. This study uses the latest computing techniques and technologies, like YOLOv8, Raspberry Pi, MongoDB, and yeast-sugar mixture to make a machine that captures mosquitoes. YOLOv8 as the Artificial Intelligence integrated in Raspberry Pi works well in capturing and getting data from captured mosquitoes. Whereas MongoDB is sufficient for saving gathered data. However further improvements are needed on the machine for effective operation. Monitoring the cause of dengue, Ae. Aegypti is important to gather data on its behavior and changes.

Application of Enhanced Memory-Based Collaborative Filtering Algorithm to a Tourist Spot Recommender System
Recommender systems use collaborative filtering, where information is filtered by using the recommendations from different people. A tourist spot recommender system is developed in this paper using the enhanced memory-based collaborative filtering algorithm based on user similarity. The enhancement utilizes a new similarity measure that was devised to identify co-rated items and computes the user similarity. The performance of the enhanced algorithm was evaluated using the standard evaluation metrics, and the accuracy was compared with the traditional Cosine, Euclidean Distance, and Pearson Correlation similarity metrics. The application of the enhanced algorithm in a tourist spot recommender system validated the model in providing accurate recommendations to similar users who previously rated the tourist spots. The superior performance and accuracy exhibited by the recommender system that uses the new similarity measure formulated in this study showed that it is an effective solution to improve the identification of co-rated items and user similarity
